I'm not saying that I dislike it but it feels a bit like I'm watching Hospital Playlist's version of Muppet Babies.

I get what ur saying but in this case it’s not just about private life it involved other actors and staff. And…
Just speak for yourself and not "globally."

I don't care if she has a nasty personality. Half the people with an Oscar are probably folks you wouldn't want as neighbours. It's not my problem and I see no reason to make it my problem.

I want to know if she can deliver on the stage in the role that she's given. In that sense she has been very much worth paying attention to and I'd like to see more of her work.

Might look into her dramas soon. Though she's not my bias in Red Velvet, I am curious to see her acting.
I've seen her only in Blue Birthday. For the first four episodes she was phoning it in. After that I think some producer lit a fire under her ass and demanded something in return for her paycheck.

I do hope that she's improved.

FWIW, I think LJI is a fine actor. Her efforts contributed to my enjoyment of Racket Boys. This Director's comment…
She was still a child actor in Racket Boys. It was not a star-studded cast by any stretch of the imagination but she got my attention. I particularly liked her physical presence and motion on the stage. As they say in football, a player who does a lot of good work off the ball.

I'm not nominating her for a Baeksang but she has obvious strengths, has a lot of experience, and has had several years to expand both since Racket Boys. That kind of negging, as you say, is inappropriate and unproductive.

This could have been the only melodrama that I ever rated a 10. I just hate young characters getting deadly diseases out of the blue SO MUCH. It neared perfection and fell short because of one cheap, lazy plot device.

With the extreme ignorance displayed by the townsfolk and fishermen especially, the island didn't deserve Goto…
Bingo. That was the core of my review. If you sent them Jesus they'd crucify him.

The insane conservatism of K-drama producers: cast a gorgeous stage performer like Nana, give her parents who act like she's a wayward virgin after nine years in an adult relationship, and dress her in mom pants for the entire series.

I wanna start this but don't know how is it?
Top of the line acting. Good individual character development. Story is a 2010 throwback so it's eight hours too long, including three straight hours of melo.
I liked S2 just as much as S1 for different reasons. The Japanese craziness that was fun in S1 has been dialled down but that doesn't make it dull in any way. It's less inappropriate but that's a good thing.

I like the evolution of the relationship and the more serious approach. I like that they play together more than they play with each other. I like that they're more focused and eager to learn to take care of each other. I like how the power balance has changed and how the teacher-student dynamic remains only as a nuisance that's delaying their progress towards becoming equal partners.

Even if nothing else follows I think we left them in a good place.

This is far better than the special that preceded it. However, the Yamaguchi connection and the sick inmate are both continued stories from the special without any explanation to accompany them.

This film reinforces the idea that Amamiya is the canonical partner for Kuryu. I can't imagine how they'll do without her in a full season.
On Architecture 101 Mar 15, 2025
This film leaves some competent actors without much to be proud of. It's like they didn't read the script first.

The writers began with what might have been a relatable first love story and took a wrecking ball to it. It's a horrorshow of mundane interactions. Not one healthy relationship in the house. I'm not even going to touch normalizing date rape.

I'd quit after the Hokagou Karte s#!$show but I thought that timing wouldn't matter for this one because it had neatly contained episodic plots. Until it did not...

does anyone know the release schedule for netflix? when can i expect ep6?
Our recent experience with new Japanese content on Netflix says don't hold your breath and we'll get it when it's ready, and just because we got one episode 8 days after air doesn't mean that we won't wait 14 days for the next.

Disappointed in ep 5. It tied into ep 4 as a long-winded, maudlin coda that was obvious from beginning to end. None of the snappy interactions and intelligent twists that have made this drama look good so far.

ahhh their kiss in the end of episode 13 😍
The one moment in the whole drama when they escaped from the chaperones.
