I didn't read the book, I don't give a damn about it or if it's a faithful adaptation. I got spoiled last week by obnoxious book readers who don't understand the concept of marking their spoilers and thanks to them I knew this goddamned amnesia plot was coming. I legit thought I might quit the show with only three episodes to go... and watched this one anyway. D: There is no telenovela trope I hate more than the amnesia plot, and I'm going to have such a hard time finishing this show. Send help.

I felt bad for To in the precinct. I wouldn't have guessed I was able to feel bad for him after he threw that ashtray at Fei Foon's head in the first episode. I guess that shows how less shitty he's become and/or how silly I am to buy into his whole "I've never killed anyone and I had nothing to do with Uncle To's death" spiel.

(Btw, I still think King is behind the counterfeit money operation, somehow - no matter how nice he seems to be. @_@ I hope I change my mind soon.)

Of course Fei Foon's long lost friend is his boyfriend's dangerous rival. How could he not be? D:

The AI flashbacks were disappointing and distracting. If YOUKU wants to make big numbers, they might need to start taking into account how common the anti-ai sentiment is in certain Western countries. (And no, I'm not giving up on this show because of AI. The story and the actors are good and have grabbed me, already. Still, there are people who won't give something like this a chance.)

If Jiakai doesn't remember or says he only kissed Dawei because he was drunk, I'm going to _lose it_

So everyone was right about Keke in different ways. I don't mind that, actually, I'm glad she changed her mind and that Jiakai got another friend.

I hate drunken kisses in dramas. That happens half the time!

I noticed some commenters missed something. Ken has been trying to die for over 200 years, as shown in the very first (bad AI) scene of the show. The reason he's so obsessed with this serial arsonist-killer case is connected to that - this criminal, who is also clearly a nour, has managed to kill other nours (including, very recently, Tee, who was the one who killed that girl) If he finds the killer out, it means he will finally have access to someone who can take him out of his misery and KILL HIM. It's a suicide mission.

Will he change his mind now that he's managing to connect to humans again? Will James make him rethink it? Probably. But that's what it is for now - just check the questions he was asking the mystery-nour in the precinct after the other cops were attacked in episode 3.

From here on, these are just theories (GAME THEORIES /jk)

IMO, James's father was either a nour or something nour-like, with a set of supernatural powers. Not only was he targeted by the arsonist-killer we KNOW has been killing nours, but his son has some special abilities of his own - telling lies from the truth and seeing 'auras'. James is either part nour, or something nour-like, too.

And... I also think Chita is possibly a nour who was attacked by the same arsonist-killer, hence the burn marks and slow regeneration. It would also explain Ji's reticence in getting romantically involved with him despite clearly having feelings for him, too... There's not enough evidence yet, just coincidences, but it might be the case. (Even worse, he might be the nour-killing serial killer/arsonist, and be pretending to have been caught in one of the fires he set himself to get close to Ken and/or the coroner's office)

Agreed on the blood. It's common in vampire media for vampires to be cops, detectives, coroners and CSIs precisely for that reason.

And yeah, he's looking for this nour killer so he can be killed, too. Maybe having James in his life will make him less suicidal, but that's the clear goal imo.

I don't think that's it. This arsonist/murderer is clearly a nour and he has been killing other nours (including but not limited to Tee.) Ken has been trying to die for over 200 years, and he finally found someone who can take him out. He needs to find out who the murderer is before anyone else does and ask him to kill him, or the murderer will get thrown in jail and Ken will have to go on living. It's a suicide mission.

He wants to find out who the arsonist/killer is before anyone else does, because he wants the arsonist/killer to kill `_him_ He's been trying to die for over 200 years, and it's the first time he's seen a nour who can kill other nours. It's probably his only chance. If someone else gets to him first, he'll go to jail and Ken will have to keep living on.

The ones you mentioned are all good - I haven't watched Not Me yet, but it's next - and exactly what keeps me watching Thai BL.

Phoom is really good at acting with his eyes! He was really something in the scene where Dr. Ji was taking care of him, I could feel how much Chita wanted to kiss him. @_@ I'm constantly wondering if Chita is also a Nour (not the fast-regeneration type, clearly) or if his leg was damaged by a Nour...

I like that Ji clearly knows a lot about what Ken is doing, and they have a level of trust between them. I'm not a fan of when no one around the supernatural character knows what he is: having a vulnerable (mostly) human friend always makes things more interesting IMO.

Boss is doing amazingly well for a first role, and James is such an annoying, "genki," sassy cop. I hope he gets to keep this energy throughout the show. I wonder if his father was a Nour, since this arsonist-killer-Nour seems to be going after others from his, erm, species? Type? No idea what to call it. Maybe that's why he can tell if people ar elying and see their auras or whatever that is.

Ken will not stop looking at James's lips when they're close together. Obsessed much? I love their mutual crush, though I'm terrified: it seems pretty clear that Ken's main objective (at least until James stole his attention) was to commit suicide by Nour-killing Nour, and I don't know what it'll take for him to give up after over 200 years of yearning for death. >_> If this has a sad ending, I might lose it lol

Oh, and I have to give props to the cop lady whose name I have yet to memorize: she's a real ally and a good friend to have. Glad she talked James up and convinced Ken to go to his welcome party, it was game-changing!

PS: Should I even be capitalizing the word Nour? Is it like "vampire'" or more like "Cainite?"

I think most people see it as an urban legend. The news report was sensacionalistic, like those tabloids who talk about aliens or the Big Foot...

I really enjoyed the first one despite that horrible AI suicide attempt montage and a few other clunky scenes. The characters got me for now, and I love a murder mystery as much as I love seeing different takes on vampire lore~

And he's giving a certain older vampire on a specific Vampire Chronicles book, too, but that one is super good with tech and does his best to stay updated - until he gets suicidal, that is~
