depends on whether they follow the anime or develop from it. She gets reincarnated in the anime/comes back and she did not marry Yue Chu in the anime either, she married someone else. But there is some obstacle between the couple until they reunite. But yes they were together but how the drama will play this out or is it a BE, no idea since they changed a lot of stuff already.

Dear the Untamed set a bar.....in fact, it did so well they didn't want these type of dramas to be aired (political issue for China). Their chemistry and overall story and production quality was very highly praised and reviewed. Its still hugely popular and remembered very well. As this drama currently stands, I don't think it will reach those heights.. but maybe we have to watch and see. So far... I ain't feeling any chemistry thats really explosive for any of the CPs.. yaya and ah Lai at least have some hints of affection.

Yes I concur with the views of my fellow commenters here. We are quite in agreement on many views on this page, which is very rare. Also I was amazed that the actors did so well with their CGI because they were acting with non existent items (phoenix at the start or ML creating things out of air and look suave and not stupid) and their fight scenes didnt just entail them waving their arms around a lot of the time..

So right. JOL is a complicated largely political scheming type drama with some martial arts.. Shen Li was so straight forward - good vs evil (protecting their realm xian xia love story) and yet done so well..

Both are hard to execute well and both did a great job... Shen Li has rewatch value,.. JOL I cannot really rewatch except some scenes..

But the problem with so good is that Every drama is now compared to JOL and Shen Li - and this causes lots of fandom/fan war issues.. like I said Weibo is a mad house daily.. I just dont get why people (or so called those accounts that are made to promote stuff) like to keep comparing. Even the story of rose (which is a modern piece... they already started the chatter on comparison and ratings - simply because LGX is in it as well and Yi Fei is kind of in the same age bracket as Liying) ARGH!

I do like yaya and Lai (so far its more fleshed out in terms of their interactions. But is it touching me, eh not quite yet. And I like Rong rong, her character and acting so far is all ok :) but the editing and directing is in a weird territory.

Agree.. dont worry so much about the ratings.. if the story interests you then do try it out. Ratings means a number of people who have watched it may have liked it or disliked it. But its not the everything. I have watched dramas I havent rated because I dont want to "spoil" the ratings especially if I didnt enjoy it. If you are keen, just try a few episodes and read some comments or reviews and then decide if you wish to continue onwards if it didnt grab you at the start.

I totally get you.. the slow and the rushed somewhat really gets to me and the editing or directing.. OMG... i cannot it... its so jumpy... and nothing is built up properly except short bits like when the villians get together... as for the acting.. I think Gong Jun is doing better... and I like Rong Rong... the costumes are very pretty and everyone is looking very pretty but thats the standout bits.... which says a lot...

I think its hard to have a proper discussion because of so much "noise", Liying didnt go and so people talk about why. I think its easy to note that she was busy with work and like you said the movie is about Ziyi and so what would be the point. The leak was apparently by someone who was there and claimed to be a liying fan (but liying fans claim she is just impersonating - who knows until someone checks) and then some yang mi fans distributed some leaked clips of Liying and Ziyi from the movie (not of yang mi) and it exploded. But after the initial ruckus.. no one seems to have done something (or behind the scenes they did we dont know), it just died off in the hot topics as well. But again they argue over lots of stuff daily.

No problem, I liked them as a couple. They look pretty cute together

It depends on how the drama plays it out. In the anime, she is resurrected /reincarnated but she is kept apart by another character until later when she reunites with A Kuan in the end. But eh they changed so much from the anime so I dont know how this will play out. And she didnt marry Yue Chu in the anime as far as I remember. Maybe someone else can correct me if I remembered correctly.

I dont think they want to go head on. But as the earlier hour to avoid going head on was also not working out (as fans complained the viewership was low because people were still at work) so Iqiyi decided to accede to request to push it backwards. Now will it help? No one is sure, have to watch and see how it is. But the end result is, it will be released later :)

They did but I think it has to do with ratings as well.. they wanted to avoid Joy of Life and get viewers hooked first but I think it has not worked out so they are tweaking it.

Eh are people already doing that for this show? And frankly they do that for A LOT of dramas... like almost all the dramas I have watched so far, people do that. They do that in douban as well. And yes most of the times its the fans that do that and so its a tit for tat each time a new drama of their not fav or fav is on. I think in MDL its already quite measured. Its always a tit for tat.. some fan club start something and then another fandom respond when another drama is airing. And they do that for movie ratings as well.

I think they changed the release time to 7 something because the fans complained that 6 ish was too early and couldnt get the ratings because everyone was still busy. Just wait a bit.
