Well it depends. Some people enjoy it from episode 8 onwards. Cos the tone changes. Some still find it a bit slower until the last arc. So you might want to watch to episode 8/9 and see how it goes.

I think he at least feels guilty towards her because she helped him before he got famous or recognised as a talent. So there must be some form of affection if not he won't be feeling sad but rather relieved off her.

Some of us are watching the double and of course re watching shen li hahaha

Haha if you actually work for them you won't have time to watch dramas! Haha they are notorious for being slave drivers. Except the producers who make the dramas they know the stars and everything.

I think we will find out as the drama progresses. But it's not unusual for a stepnother to be nasty. She looks like she wants to remove her permanently even! But still trying to pretend to ba a gracious and wonderful wife to prevent damage to her reputation and the family's reputation.JL is a step daughter and nonbiological plus she is daughter from another woman.
