There is nothing great about him i think, its not indicated in the drama or the novel per se. It's just that in those days ... his position in a prestigious family and his looks probably put him in a good position and you know "decent" men were hard to find so fighting over them seems to be the drill. And yes the mummy was truly a piece of work, from loving the ex lover to then deciding to kill him.. AISH ......

Eh... their drama is pure fantasy.. even their justice is drama only. My suggestion is to leave those things aside when watching. They want to provide a certain image only for their dramas and cultural influence. Especially if you watch their republican era dramas. And yes Chinese people themselves may be smart or know what is right but for many reasons they have remained as such. Look at how they influence their population on the recent world conflicts and you can tell what their politics is really about. Dramas are only for watching and what they want you to hear. So I would say divorce that.. just enjoy the dramas.. but be clear minded about other matters.

In a lot of novels, there are only a few ways to get rid of a female from a household in those days, saying they are possessed or they bring bad luck or are a cause of bad luck is very popularly used in a lot of C novels. So they are basically following a tried and tested method. Yes the other method used was to frame the lady for something from theft, causing the loss of a child (also used here) to other things.

If I remember correctly from the novel, he goes before. And they separate before meeting up again. The novel ends with them meeting up again but the extras had the marriage, their child and their life during marriage (a bit of it). But thats if I remember correctly.

I think a lot of people were.. and it was hyped so much as well... But I couldnt get into Yang mi's portrayal either. It seemed overly stiff and yes I get it, the anime was similar but it works for an anime character but not a drama.... I do really like Gong Jun, I think he did his best for what he had. Sigh.... I think I will wait for the entire drama to be finished before I watch the Shi Shi one especially because it might also be BE. :(

EXACTLY.. but thats what some people commented in weibo when asked about the modern scenes.. make sense? No for sure.. but then again.. a lot of things didnt make sense at all. I watched the end because i wanted to know if it will connect to the other 2 upcoming ones.. and no I was left going "Huh"... but maybe its just me.. and honestly I was not invested in the drama after a while..

someone mentioned the modern scenes were for a commercial but who knows.. sigh.. such a pity. The modern scene would have made more sense. I don't get the ending at all... the young susu and the couple in the end.. made me go "huh"? Or maybe its just me not getting it

He is good... and might just get even better.. Ok Mama Yu gets to me sometimes but he does have a decent eye and he often knows what the audience is looking for so .. I have to give it to him :) He also knows how to stir up the views for sure!

Yes the novel was decently long but the extras are very good because it was about JL and Duke Su (after marriage) and I want to see that... not the rushed ending :) but knowing c drama... AISH...
