Hmm did i remember correctly, they seem to be combining the step mother's downfall and King Chen Plus the princess altogether..... whilst the novel treated them as separate arcs?

Agree.... I just want the extras in the ending (like they did for Legend of Shen Li.) Not just end it at the end of the novel! Plus the bringing down of everyone... seems to not be able to fit into everything so I bet they will cut down some stuff for sure!

Dont know if they follow the order but in the novel Stepmmom goes down first, then the princess and Li family sorted of together, her sister gets into a tangle with the princess and is tortured but survives. This is assuming they follow the novel... which is decently long so I suspect they will cut and also weave the stories together

I think the drama makes him a bit more sympathetic but in the novel, he is all for himself, he never cared for either of them. He regrets for sure and has guilt but that is about it. His family is even worse. He literally just uses them both to get to what he wants.

I am really hoping they will film the extras just like the Legend of Shen Li, the ending is much better with the extras so sweet.... if not its just going to be the usual he shows up again ending which is NOT as satisfying!

Fantastic chemistry and a super satisfying ending. Try to watch up to at least episode 8 (some people find the start a bit slow paced but its necessary to the plot) and then make a call on it. I finished it and loved it and now watching the Double too :) very different types of dramas but both very very good.. I loved Shen Li a bit more than the Double but thats because I love no angst and happy endings. Shen Li is a love story more about the 2 people and how they loved and their responsibilities being a Xian Xia, whilst the Double is a revenge piece so more plots and schemes.. But the leads were "into" each other from start to end and no other persons were involved a bit like the Double in that regard. And the OST and CGI for Shen Li were very very good.. as were the fight scenes, they actually filmed outside for many of the scenes especially for Liying (FL). Try it and tell us what you think.

It depends... most of us found it fantastic with a wonderful ending. All the arcs are linked together and no extra characters or side stories that add nothing. No angst, no separations or misunderstanding. Some find it a bit slow at the start but the action starts at Episode 8 but a lot of us enjoyed it from the start :) Just give it a try. Its rating was a lot higher until antis came in to down rate it :) The production and ost was fantastic too
