Yes but undeniably he can product hits. And his controversies just help his dramas and dramatic effect. And every so often we get a gem of a drama so have to give it to him.

perhaps we are not looking at the same space... so far what i have read is a lot of positive commentary and comments... and I didnt see any psycho fans here either.... everyone seems to be just enjoying the drama... and talking abt the drama.
Actually I am quite amazed by the pacing because they took out all the characters in one episode... The novel took a lot longer for these few characters.. so maybe we can hope for the extra novel bits as well.. I dont want a rushed ending....

Agree with you. WJY didnt do well for her other dramas.. so the expectations were not there. I dont think its hardcare fans of ZLY (a lot of people pretend to be her fans are are not) and her drama was already aired. I did read about some fans of other drama commenting but I shall not raise it because I dont want to start fan wars. I personally think we should focus on the dramas themselves and not compare dramas or actresses or actors.
Yu Zheng has his critics and his fans and honestly he can deliver if the script, editing and acting holds up. He knows how to make hits. Just not everything is a hit. So am glad to enjoy this one and happy for the actors too.. Sometimes working hard doesnt always pay off (aka Gong Jun in the other drama)

This i agree, They slayed it in that one but eh the directing and editing is also great in that. Perhaps we can say that they played off each other, bringing out their acting chops for each other.

If it follows the novel, they only "get together" per se at the end of the drama.. and it depends on what kind of ending we get. However honestly they have always been together, he has been helping her since the start and clearly they are into each other :)
