Episode 10 so 2 years for murder and that’s with court and judge accepting both things were different situations,…
I also think the punishment was low, but Hyo Min brought proof that the victim jaywalked in that exact same area over 30 times, so there legally is reasonable doubt that the concussion caused her to cross the street. If she didn't hit her in the head with the rock and just happened to be driving distractedly and grabbing her lighter at that exact time, she still would have accidentally hit her because the odds are she would have jaywalked anyways. That's why her mom sent her the info on the habitual jaywalking, that alone removes any correlation to the battery and the car accident

I think I would have been more comfortable with say 2 years for the battery and 3-5 years for the vehicular manslaughter

Thinking back on it, FL's mom said she regrets not helping the bully now since it bothers the FL and she didn't expect that, but what about the other daughter?!?

Yes, Hyo Min was disturbed by the way you handled the bullying issue, but you still abandoned her twin sister. She cares WAY MORE about that than she did you mishandling the bullying case when she was in High School. It's kind of crazy how they made it show where mom and daughter found common ground and are starting to heal their relationship when the biggest issue between them isn't even recognized by the mom yet. Or did I just misunderstand their conversation? I feel like I had to of for Hyo Min to change her attitude, but honestly can't recall the mom even acknowledging the other daughter

That's why he is known as "the scary boss" 🤭It's too bad they didn't show the trainee's expression…
I didn't think it was going to happen to start with, then they got my hopes by flashbacking to her coming home with them sitting in the twins room, then they immediately dashed my hopes again by instantly moving on lol. That flashback was a roller coaster for me.

I do love how he's obviously not the "scary boss" to her anymore though. Pulling her aside to give her clothes for the girls and practically saying I'm always here for you shows that he genuinely cares about all his associates, not just Hyo Min

№4. Giving a chanceThis was the FL's entire argument: to give her a chance.- Adults failed to protect her.-…
Yeah, she definitely got scared off by the threat to her daughter. I just think with what we know about her, she should have been able to counter it almost immediately.

Like it's different scenario, genre, different everything really, but think about the bullying scene in Judge From Hell. The mothers changed their tune immediately and started actually blaming their daughters as soon as they heard Shin Hye was a judge. She wasn't even a high ranked judge like FL's dad, and with the evidence she has in the cell phone already, one casual conversation to the FL's dad can completely destroy the bullys life. She could easily have been like "Then we'll skip the school violence board and take this to the court, let's see how you do" but got scared off by a threat that shouldn't have held any weight to her imo

№4. Giving a chanceThis was the FL's entire argument: to give her a chance.- Adults failed to protect her.-…
I agree with your points except for #1. Yeah the bullys dad is the chairman and all that, but the FLs mom is a senior highly respected lawyer and law school professor, and her dad is a highly respected senior judge. The bully wasn't chaebol level of wealth, just upper middle class to lower high class, which is the same as the FLs family.

Yeah, the chairman father can try and use his influence to try and keep his daughter in school, but would he really risk going against a system that will obviously be extremely biased against him and his daughter if she tried any retribution against the FL?

She also couldn't know at that time, but seeing as how the bully actually got sent to the US very shortly after the bullying issue we saw, I don't think FL's mom made the right choice. As smart as she's supposed to be, she should have been able to tell that the odds were 80+% in her favor, but she got scared off by a mediocre threat she easily could have flipped

That was my thoughts too. It looked exactly like Claudia's in Atypical Family

They couldn't truly get justice to her sister-only by stooping down to his awful level they were able to save…
It was a disgusting scene at face value, but I think what they were going for, and conveyed decently, was that they weren't really laughing at her beating him per se, but they started laughing as a means to let their confused feelings out until the real feelings came. The victim/perpetrator wasn't only a sister to her friend, she was practically all of theirs older sister, and the friends idol on top of that, so seeing her "payback" was cathartic to all of them and their confused state caused the first one to laugh so they all joined until it kicked in and they cried.

I don't agree with the scene and don't think they should have added it, but I think if you watch it again and try to look past the face value of it, you will see it wasn't really them joking about her abusing him, is was a necessary release of emotions for all 3 of them, the sister especially

So did kwon na yeon slept with guy and then deleted the photo since she knew its a setup? Why even sleep with…
As of now, I am assuming that she went home and slept and nothing happened between them. They only showed her heels by the side of the bed as a red herring I think, really to make the office politics plotline suspenseful for the final week.

I absolutely could be wrong and they slept together, but they made it ambiguous enough to sow doubt on purpose. However, the room they showed while panning to heels by the bed didn't look like a hotel room, or a bachelors room for that matter, to me

there was no vehicular assault. She just drove recklessly. The stone WAS an assault and super nasty and she does…
????????????????? She didn't mean to, but 100% hit her with the truck while she was trying to grab her lighter off the floorboard. That is absolutely a vehicular accident, and that accident killed her. I didn't once put vehicular assault, I put vehicular manslaughter, which is exactly what happened, and she herself even said that happened. Or do you honestly think that accidentally killing someone is just a reckless driving charge?!? If so, you might want to learn some basic commonly known laws.

Also, the rock was battery, not assault. At least as per US definitions. Battery is the act of actually harming someone. Assault is basically the threat of harming someone, or causing someone to feel and fear being attacked

That's the thing with defending defendants though. You have to justify why they did what they did. Not all are…
I agree that it's their job, and I'm fine with them winning the cases.

I'm talking more about the script and tone of the show. There's been plenty of shows and movies where a defense lawyer is the protagonist and wins the case, but it's framed and scripted in a way audience still knows and feels that the defendant was in the wrong and what they did is not okay, even if they got off. BTB is framing the show in a way where it looks like they are saying violence can be justified, and that's the part I have a problem with.

These last couple episodes have had the first years banding together in ways I wish they had done from the start.
Yeah, they literally had no point until ep 9 lol. They were practically invisible for the first 2/3 of the show

I know they are defense/litigation lawyers and it's their job to argue for the defendants, but it seems weird to me how the last 3 episodes have an undertone of justifying violence against someone that's wronged you. Like, yeah, in ep 10 she got 2 years in prison, but that's a light sentencing for either battery or vehicular manslaughter let alone both. The messaging on this one can easily be misconstrued as "It's okay to proactively assault/kill your bully" and they definitely shouldn't be spreading a message like that

It really is starting to come off like they are saying it's okay to hurt someone that's hurt you, and that's not reality. In self defense, sure, but none of these cases could fall under self defense

Could you let me know whether there will be no romance between boss and their subordinate, right?
As of now, no. It's open to interpretation imo and could very well become a romance, or just a mutually respected mentor/mentee relationship where they both have a fondness for each other, not neccissarily love.

The ML actually made a rule at the law firm before the show started where superior/subordinate relationships are forbidden, so using that point there's less chance that he'd break his own rule, but it is still possible.

I think it might be different reasons for different people. For religious people it's the fact that they consider…
I think if there was a way to write a law with 0 loopholes and no ambiguity to it that more people would be more open to the idea, but I don't really see a way that happens. There's been plenty of arguments that are legally sound even with the most plainly written laws in many countries.

I personally do think that if someone has a 100% confirmed terminal disease, is in the later middle stages of that disease and their quality of life is going to continuously get worse, they should have that option if they so choose.

As for your point for the mentally degrading diseases, I personally think that the actual patient has to be able to make the call while they are still mostly lucid. Not like an hour every 3 or whatever, I mean early stages of the disease have paperwork like a DNR, but stating at which level of QOL medically they want to stop fighting. I would say consesus of relatives, but like you said theres possible greed in that case. Imagine a grandparent with late stage dementia that's loaded, it's easy to imagine the majority of (possible) heirs signing off for the payday, especially if there's a strained relationship even without the dementia

In a way today's case can be seen as a silent protest against the current "lax" law pertaining to child…
Even in the first scene with the prosecutor, you could tell which way he was leaning. She asked about the autopsy and he said it's not done yet, then he added the tidbit about the vEDS, and even showing the postit for spelling and clarification, which he was under no obligation to disclose yet (At least in the US, it would have to be told to the defense, but only after the autopsy was completed I believe). Ethically he was in the clear with just saying they didn't have the autopsy back yet.

Then when they expanded that scene towards the end to show he obviously didn't care to indict the Dr and only told her hoping she'd be smart enough to use the ammunition in a way that allows him to not indict

I still don't like Mae's dad because of the fake sickness thing, but I think ep 6 kind of sealed the debate on which of their fathers are worse. Ai's dad is honestly just an evil piece of shit, he gets my blood boiling every time he's on the screen now. Excited for ep 7, I really want to see the blowback on Ai finding the bug and how Yam deals with the assholes threat

I'd like to see more of the second couple. I'd love to see the heroine working on some sort of divorce case.
I hope there is some focus on it tomorrow. They opened the door nicely with him bringing in the divorce case for them to work on together. If they don't use that to further their relationship I'd actually be mad

I can't understand how being drunk is a legitimate defense there. They are super strict about drunk driving, but it seems like any other crime can get a reduced sentence just because they were drunk when they commited it

Even though it was still definitely Hyo Min being the main one, it was nice to see the other first years actually have a part to play in a case for once. I think they all had more screen time in this one episode than they had in all the others combined honestly. Hoping, even while knowing it won't happen, that tomorrows episode opens Choi coming home. It would be hilarious to see her finding the "big scary boss" babysitting her sisters and the house full of food lol. Poor girl is going to be so confused
