Title The Atypical Family Spoiler
Bok Gui-Joo for1. Saying that I-na's birth was the happiest moment of his life, that he always goes back to, and…
The son he had no clue existed? There was 0 mention of her being pregnant, and barely any mention of them being that intimate. If it wasn't for the son, you could have a plausible argument that they never slept together (it's obvious they did, even without the son. I'm saying you could make that argument)

When Gwi ju saved da her and i na he didn't due there instead he travelled back to the past when ina was born…
yes and no on moving along the wall. He could have for sure, but he was pretty centered on the wall, and it was pretty long. The more he inched towards the edge, the more the weight would have shifted making it harder to hold up, which was probably already difficult to begin with, until he literally couldn't hold it up and it would have ended all 3 of them

What are we all watching these days? it feels like all the good dramas are done airing☹️
Omukae Shibuya-kun is a JDrama that is way better than I expected it to be. I agree though that usually there's always at least one KDrama airing that has me hooked, and at the moment there isnt one. If you haven't watched Amidst a Snowstorm of Love like lilili said, it was really really good. Probably top 3 of CDramas that I've watched ever

I can suspend disbelief accepting characters with superpowers much easier than the notion of a grifter with a…
Da-Hae and her uncle were the only ones that really had a heart of gold out of the scammers imo. And Da-Hae really only did the scams because she was desperate for a family and they provided a (at first) pseudo family for her, she wanted out from episode 1. Her mom never really fully changed i don't think, but losing Da-Hae in the fake accident caused her to rethink her priorities because she was devastated over the loss and realized that she loved Da Hae as a daughter. The uncle from the start was just a giant teddy bear that would do whatever the people he loved asked so he never changed. Grace only became softer when she started to shift from targeting Dong-Hee to the frenemy stage, then gradually started liking Dong-Hee more and more.

I fully believe that Grace wouldn't have helped Da-Hae in the end, even with scammer mom asking, if it wasn't for the fact that it was to save Dong-Hee. She was fighting herself and her insincts because she liked Dong-Hee and the verbal sparring with her that turned into true friendship.

They kind of wasted Moon WooJin though. And in the end, they did go the more tropey way than I'd have wanted,…
I took it as he can grab things from a specific time and place. As long as he knows them. I am sure he knows exactly when and where his dad died because I am sure that was a common topic in that house after the fact. He also never said he went back to retrieve the ball, he said he grabbed it from when he remembered having it, so I don't think he actually goes back in time at all, he can just manipulate items from the past and bring them to the present

The writer didn't mess up, you're just misunderstanding how time and time travel are working here :D.Time is a…
If you like shows like this, I recommend a movie called predestination. It is a crazy story from start to finish and has the same time travel paradox where everything is set in stone and it's basically like Earth/each dimension is just a little behind the one we see

Title The Atypical Family Spoiler
Well to begin with I liked the drama and enjoyed watching Bok Dong Hee and Grace's sismance... My favourite character…
The only truth at present times is Da-Haes past. Since she was saved in her timeline, she is alive and well. If, at a future point Gwi-Ju either doesn't go back to save her or fails to save her, she would just disappear.

However, since she is alive, that means that she was saved. I thought the show did a pretty good job showing that he can not effect the past and his mother can not effect the future. What they see happen(s)/(ed). Da-Hae even explained it in the drama, what she sees happening in the future will happen no matter what. The circumstances and outcome however, which Grandma doesn't actually see, can be changed. Like the thing she saw at Dong-Hee's new house. That could have originally been between Dong-Hee and the shitbags side piece, but since she saw it and Da-Hae changed the outcome, it became Dong-Hee and Grace revelling in their flight. Hair still messed up, window broken and apartment in disarray like there was a fight, but it was a joyous occasion .

The one thing they didn't really explain is the scene where Gwi-Ju got the rash. Him seeing the whole world in color definitely fixed my issues with him dying in the fire, but it was also the only scene in the past where Da-Hae didn't see/notice him. There is no way she wouldn't have noticed someone holding her bike like that

That was a totally unexpected but definitely very nice ending. I would have wanted Gwi-ju and Da-hae to hug but…
It's the first show I've seen with Chun Woo-Hee, but that girl can act imo. I put a lot of her shows on my list and will definitely be watching more of her in the future

MDL says it has ten episodes but the subber says it has twelve. What's going on here?
I've come to find MDL is very bad about JDrama information in general. It is definitely more geared towards K and C Dramas.

On another note though, Japanese shows, with a few exceptions, don't really seem leave Japan or maybe Asia as much as the others. You never really see them on OTTs, and it is difficult to find the shows you want to watch unless you are already "in the know" since it's almost completely the lovely fans of the shows that decide to sub the shows for all of us and they all have their own sites or ways of distributing the shows

figures that the latest episode out when I binge a show has the biggest cliffhanger of the season so far lol. It wasn't even just the last scene, it was the whole latter half of the episode pretty much :(

Subtitles are not meant to be an exact literal translation. I often find Viki's to be laborious and overly detailed,…
Viki has a lot of "translator's notes", which I think is what Tom is referring to? They usually stay even after the dialogue gets condensed down after the edit. Sometimes they are nice since it will explain something that would otherwise be lost in translation or have to be entirely changed in order for it to make sense. But other times, they put them on things that need no explanation and they are a full on paragraph where you would literally have to pause to read it all

This show is way better than I was expecting it to be honestly. I started it today and haven't been able to stop watching it, about to start ep 10 already lol.

Their awkwardness to each other, and really his awkwardness in genral, is hilarious.

Title The Atypical Family Spoiler
She was when gwi ju was always stuck in past as it was too much for her and was pregnant and wanted to move to…
Nothing in the show at all said that she was cheating on him. You seem to be taking the grandmas word for it that she cheated on him, which iirc grandma was actually talking more about In-A since she didn't know that In-A had powers so grandma assumed that she was illigitimate.

IMO, all the scenes with Gwi-Ju's ex showed a true loving relationship, but she was leaving him because she was tired of being 2nd to the past, The show showed pretty well that Gwi-Ju was fully stuck in the past prior to the accident, even young In-A pointed it out. His ex said I can't do this anymore, you need to pick your family or the past and he picked the past. If she was so set on leaving him for her lover, she wouldn't have asked him to pick and In-A's mind read of her mother can be interpreted as her mom was depressed since for all intents and purposes, she lost her husband

It could honestly be said and more verifiable that Gwi-Ju was cheating on her with the past than her cheating on him

One thing that kind of bugs me about the fire scene. Even the word fire would completely immobilize Da Hae, yet they didn't show even a bit of reservation from her in that scene. I wish they would have showed something, even an internal monologue like they had with Dong-Hee before she fixed the fire curtain.

I get that she was extremely worried about In-A, since she herelf thinks of her as a mother to her. But there should have at least been some reservation. I mean, for ffs, in this episode they showed her grabbing her claw thing to turn off the burner because of her phobia

I think its to much. But I hope for Inah call Dahae "mom" even for once.
Would have loved that to happen, but I think it showed pretty well that In-A fully accepted Da-Hae into that role and asking a teenager to call a new parent figure mom is way too much, and honestly kind of odd. I personally was blessed with 2 parents that stayed together, but of all the people I know that have step parents, the only ones that call the step mom or dad are the ones where their parent got married while they were about 5 or younger. And of them, about 75% of them were actually legally adopted by the step parent as well

this drama had sm potential...the first few eps were so interesting but it was just straight up boring after....and…
I completely disagree actually. I thought the ending was perfect. They showed everything very smoothly in the end and, to each their own, but I was never once bored watching this drama. I have a horrible attention span and this was one of the very few shows that I never had to pause to do something else for a bit before finishing an episode
