Same here. Chung Ah's character looks captivating in blue. Seems like something interesting will happen between Janghyun and her. Janghyun could've just let her fall off the horse, wouldn't hurt that much since she's a professional assassin riding horse as a job. But instead he rushed over to save her. I don't know what direction the writer is going for but gotta say their chemistry is steaming!

Janghyun and Gilchae met, they talked and poured their hearts out. Gilchae even called Janghyun "husband" in front of the owner of the hostel where they spent the night together (nothing happened lol, they just talked some more). In the end, Gilchae made a hard decision to stay behind, not run away with Janghyun. Her father is sick and she couldn't leave him and her siblings.. She got engaged to the other guy and Janghyun left by himself. I don't see an official wedding ceremony though so I'm holding on a last string of hope, although I wish Janghyun could just move on for a bit. By the end of ep 10, he saved Lee Chung Ah's character (lady in blue mask) from falling off her horse. They hold on to each other while lying on the grass, exchanging intense (and steaming I think) eye contacts. I think they will have "ssome" in part 2.

update: it's confirmed to be a dream. MBC posted pre-release photos of Jang Hyun burning the floral shoes. Bet he didn't get the chance to give it to Gil Chae TT__TT

Does anyone know how many years Jang-hyun stayed in Simyang? I came accross many guesses: 8 years based on historical fact that the Crown Prince was captured for that length of time; 6 years based on a video of a Korean youtuber account (she said Gil-chae became a succesul blacksmith owner after 6 years); and the last guess is 2-3 years based on how old Bang-doo's son looks like.

Agree. GC in this scene acts like a sweet baby girl, probably that's how JH remembers her. Present GC is now the head of her family, hence she acts more mature.

The fact that they announced her role quite late makes me think that she's coming to support NGM as a guest, like she did for 1000won Lawyer. A guest role can still appear on many episodes throughout the drama (every episode even - I've seen many extended guest roles before). But they definitely don't have the weight of support roles. I love LCA, and the writer has been excellent so far, hence I don't think her role would spoil the show!

Anyone recall when Eun Ae asked Gil Chae to go pray for Yeon Jun together after he enlisted? At that time Gil Chae seemed reluctant since she didn't believe in superstition, she was even annoyed by kneeling on freezing ground lol. But in episode 8, she willingly climbed on a rock and made spell to summon Janghyun, counted herself as "wife of missing soldier". I think we can see a significant change of heart here kk ~~

I saw a youtube video of a korean account saying Gilchae turned into a mature lady merchant after 6 years. Anyways it doesn't matter to me how many years exactly they are apart from each other, as long as it's less than 1 episode 🥹
