I think for Nio to choose GuanYu as his Roommate and confess his feelings shortly after was a mistake and diminished his chances to go on a date with him.
1) You spend more time together as roommates automatically - you don't have to seek out each other (dates) to spend time one on one 2) GY probably needs to process Nio's confession and might wants some distance to do that 3) It's for sure hella awkward

it's very "The Little Mermaid"
I normally don't like to blame parents for their child's behaviour but in this case I make an exception. That monster needs some proper discipline. It's obvious she doesn't respect her parents at all and her mother is just enabling it. At this point I only feel sorry for Phillip.

I don't see it as misogyny per se. It's more like insecurity and internalised blame. She has this thought that men leave without a reason (or because it is your fault) and it's the spouse responsibility to treat them good so they won't leave. For example...she went to her daughter-in-law to treat her son better not because she thinks her DIL is a bad person but because she doesn't want her son to run away like her husband.
I think she treats her sons better because she doesn't trust them to stay if they don't have a reason to.

I'm not sure if she would change if HS leaves. Definitely not immediately. I believe she sees herself in HS as in the good one the one that stays and takes care of things. The problem is she feels that this kind of behaviour is taken for granted in this family at least that the women take care of the men. Like she had no choice and so does HS as her daughter to take care of things.
I am not defending her. She definitely needs a reality check. Just because you had to dedicate your life to your children when your husband left and make sure that your boys don't leave as well, doesn't mean HS has to take on that burden as well. But I think she believes that HS has to or she thinks HS has done it so far without complaining (like she did) that she is also fine with that role.
As for Granny. She sure will be the MVP at some point🤭 and probably HS fairy godmother I can feel it.

I think the reason she favours her sons over HS is because of her husband leaving.
This woman has abandonment issues. Sure the boys don't live with her anymore but the thought of them disappearing and never contacting her again reminds her of her husband.
She is doing all of this because she is afraid of her boys leaving like her husband.
When Dokyung left his home and all behind and Grandpa was like "don't you dare take anything I gave you"....why wasn't he like "okay what was my salary? I worked there for I don't know how many years, so surely I was supposed to be paid. Let's say you can keep 50% of it for living expenses and what so ever but I I earned the rest."
I get the other stuff like car and shares and the house but it's not like he did nothing all his life.
I feel this is just to get him to rock bottom and doesn't reflect the businessman he is supposed to be...
here I thought: okay she got herself a job...some improvement
but as soon as she got the money that her husband wanted to give his mother but she refused .... she wants to invest it into a stupid overpriced chair for her spoiled brat of a daughter
just retribution
I just hope the revenge won't be forgotten along the way

get out girl as soon as possible...and do it for yourself not for a man....I hope frees herself first before there is any romance happening

I say: it's an option
sure she need help and support, however, could never be me. I am way too petty
She made plenty choices herself.
And not just that she always quadrupled down. No sign of remorse or a conscience.
Yes, she is traumatized by her mother's desire/greed. However that is not an infinite excuse. At some point she needs to be held accountable.
long story short......I hate that BITCH
beyond redemption
we are witnessing the fruits of her labour.
that demon of a child is beyond saving
timeskips are fine but not for the last episode. it is like a cop out.
