I agree with Dancing Ajumma, I have never skipped any scenes or fast forward anything. Although the episodes are 45 minutes long, to me they feel like 20 minutes, and next thing I know the ending theme song is already playing and I'm on to the next episode. I think this speaks to the production and cast doing a great job with the pacing and tone of the drama. Once you're about 3 episodes in, you're not able to put the series down. It also helps that the series is not dubbed, and that you can hear the actors' natural voices. It honestly gives me Tientsin Mystic vibes, where I came in expecting nothing, but was left wanting more. Give it a try, I was definitely pleasantly surprised by this drama.
Is it me or is the lighting in the scenes too dull? Like whenever there's a scene at night, I have no idea what is going on. I know it's supposed to be back when there was no electricity, but I would just appreciate being able to see the characters faces.
The more episodes I watch, the more I realize this is a mini GMP reunion. Both the Queen and Prime Minister from GMP are the main prosecutors in this series. I'm on episode 11, and the series is picking up momentum. This is definitely a slow burn, but I'm enjoying all the actors, especially Oliver Chen and Liu Cheng. They have really good bromance/rivalry chemistry, and play off each other really well.
This would have been a straight 10/10, but the whole thing about them knowing each other from when they were kids, and bumping into each other when they were young kinda made me roll my eyes. Nonetheless, it's definitely been a while since I finished a Korean drama. The cast and production were great. I really hope we get to see Mina acting again soon in another drama!
Watching the first episode, and was pleasantly surprised to see Oliver Chen and Nagima reunited again. Really hope Oliver gets to do another drama with Peng Xiao Ran in the future.
I just finished episode 24, and all I have to say is... if Jun Jiu Ling doesn't want Nobleman Ning, then she can give him to me!!
Btw, I LOVE Peng Xiao Ran's acting! I seriously can't wait for her upcoming dramas, I really hope she blows up in China and gets even more roles. She deserves it! I'm so picky about my actors, and I honestly couldn't believe GMP was her fist lead role. She's so natural when she's acting, and makes you feel her emotions. I love her!
does anybody know if ultimate fan pass access on youku youtube is for jun jiu ling or not?
Somebody once said the VIP pass for Jun Jiu Ling was only on their website for Chinese members. That's how other people were able to see more episodes last week, but they were raw with no English subs
This drama is giving me a serious case of 2nd lead syndrome . Wang You Shou fits the description of Ning Yun Zhao…
Welcome to the club! Nobleman Ning is soo easy on the eyes too. He's honestly one of the best 2nd male leads I've seen. He's so respectful of the female lead, and never throws himself on her. He's not toxic at all! I'm so used to seeing second leads as possessive and mentally unhealthy, but he's not like that. I love how the actor is portraying him as well, I hope he gets more lead roles in the future.
For those who have watched episode 17....spoilers aheadDid Chu Jiu Li (the eldest princess) like Chu Jiu Ling…
I think she did like her and misses her. My interpretation of that scene, was that Jiu Li (eldest princess) doesn't want Jiu Ling to come back, because she wouldn't like for her sister to see how she's living now. Basically, knowing that she and her little brother are both pawns for the King, and are being used. She feels helpless, and even had to marry her sister's ex-husband in order to protect her little brother. Not to mention her husband has a side chick living in his mansion, and everyone knows about it. So I don't think she would like for her younger sister (Jiu Ling) to come back and witness all of that.
