Ashes of Love!!! Best drama of 2018

OMG This drama is so good I decided to read the novel. Highly recommend reading it because it shows a different perspective of the story! Props to the team in keeping the storyline so similar to the novel. The novel and the drama really complement each other well :)

I watched this because of all the great reviews, but it turned out to be such a disappointment. The plot is rather plain, like a group of friends going on a quest. It does not really tug your heartstrings, not many twists and do not really have any climax. The entire shows had little memorable scenes and the leads' storyline felt very shallow and flat. In contrary, the supporting characters had much better storylines and I ended up liking the storylines of the supporting characters like Zong Yue and Zhan Bei Ye over the leads. AND THE ENDING. Considering the buildup for the past 65 eps I expected so much more :(. The drama just constantly went downhill for me :(

The entire show was just meh which is a shame considering the entire cast lineup. Kudos to Ethan Ruan though! Loved his acting :)

I intended this show to just be a light-hearted buffer drama to get me out of my obsession over Ashes of Love. OMG But IT IS SO GOOD. The actors did such a great job and the drama is oozing with sweetness and humour. Now I'm a little obsessed with this and can't stop listening to the songs... :') Best school-based drama I have watched this year!

There are so many iconic scenes to rewatch that I ended up rewatching the entire drama again... The best drama of 2018!!!

Season 2 is the part that ties up all the knots and shows the ending! The more exciting and sweet part of the drama I feel! But it moves a little slower than Season 1

This show is sooo slow.... Would recommend to watch season 1 just to know some background before season 2 which is more interesting and have more storyline. But just a sidenote, the female lead is a great actress and the male lead is so handsome!!

Watched this show just to fill my time. BUT ITS SO DAMN GOOD!!! Just watch it everyone, you wont regret it :')
