I feel like what's going on is that Salin is the reincarnation of the naga lady trapped in the cave (Sidarin as per the iQiyi subs lol). As she told Salin that she practiced asceticism the whole time she was imprisoned, prayed to be reborn and told him, "You are my soul". So Sidarin loved past life Sun, past life Sun loved Sidarin's sister, Sidarin's sister loved another guy but was engaged with past life Sun, the man her sister loved didn't love her/gave up on her as he told her "You should go back to where you belong", Sidarin tried to kill the guy her sister was in love with for some reason (hearing his rejection of her maybe?) and accidentally kills her sister, past life Sun is angry because Sidarin killed the person he loves, past life Sun traps Sidarin in the cave. Salin has been dreaming of past life Sun his whole life and is also dreaming of Sidarin (his past life). I guess we just don't have enough info and I'm probably misunderstanding something but????? I guess we have to wait to see if they actually explain later lol. But that's pretty messy that Sun fell in love with the reincarnation of the person who killed the person he loved in his past life.
