I generally am of the mind that leaving negative comments on shows you don’t enjoy is counterproductive but I am really not enjoying this. I think Liang Jie and CZY are both better actors than this. I feel like I’m watching people with the emotional maturity of adolescents cosplay as adults with adult jobs. I get that their jobs aren’t the point (yet) but the development of the romance is underwhelming. I don’t need it to be crackling and I can understand why their characters would be attracted to each other (which is more than I can say for a lot of shows I watch). The chemistry between the actors however feels forced, unnatural and unconvincing. I enjoy a slow paced story when the story calls for it but not for its own sake. I like both leads as actors but don’t care much for either of their characters here, especially Song Ran.
He loves her already. He was missing her so much he went to the place they first met.
I too was disappointed they skipped showing us the moment he found out what happened to her. that being said, he did rush to the cart that he thought she was being carried out on and was emotive at the thought of her being gone and him being late. he then rushed to the kitchen when he heard about the lady doctor and if she hadn’t already clearly had it under wraps he would have stepped in in a way fitting his character’s concern for her. he never has really come in fists blazing to save her. he stood back when those people broke her door down to get refunded for the plants. idk I found his reaction satisfying emotionally and revealing of deeper feelings for her even though I was really bummed we only heard him tell her about finding out.
"Do suspend my disbelief? Or is this plot point a part of her growth?"Probably both, lol
I was an executive assistant for a CEO who did not hire me. the chief of staff did. this is a weird plot point to get hung up over since hiring varies so greatly by company/country.
For the most part, I have been enjoying this series. But for the life of me I find it so unconvincing, irksome, out of character—not sure how exactly to put it— that JCY would be discussing the details of his girlfriend’s kidnapping so calmly. I thought I missed something because he seems so chill about it. He seemed much more bothered about her mom’s incident than even hers…
This drama could have been amazing, especially since Yaya always excels in period lakorns. However, I can’t…
Tor is a completely new actor to me but I felt like his presence actually fit the character quite well. It even took me a few episodes for his looks to grow on me, but he was convincing as someone who doesn’t like to take up space unless his principles demand it. To me, it felt like he had range and when the role called for a more commanding presence he could convey that but when it didn’t he could convince me of that as well. To each her own though.
I was completely unprepared for what this drama did to me. This drama was my one in a hundred. It was art. A masterclass in the subtle portrayal of emotions. A picturesque journey through love. It’s been well over a decade since I felt so invested in a show and when it ended I cried a little because I was sad it ended. 10 out of 10 for me. not without faults but it did so many things so exceptionally well that the minor faults could be overlooked. Favorite of the year of any country. Quite possibly favorite ever. Looking forward to rewatching this gem many many times 😊😍
ep 14 - THE BABES GOT MARRIED!!!!! (or well, they had a local wedding... idk if they are legally married yet hahaha)the…
I enjoyed today’s episode too!
Actually, what I appreciated about this episode and the last was that their storyline wasn’t just a series of cute scenes strung together. Anong connecting with the woman whose son was injured in that fight or her helping out in court, or even her assisting with the case afterward and trying to help him. These aren’t “cute” things per se, but to me it shows to Khun Phra that to Anong he is more than just a shiny thing she can’t have that she wants. Her actions shows what kind of wife she would be and her ability and willingness to live the kind of life that might accompany choosing him. I’ve appreciated that she’s gotten to see too that he isn’t just the stoic, perfect, self-sacrificing guy he seems. I feel like there is more depth in what they know of each other on top of a clear affection and attraction that is different from before when they got together.
Well, they were in the 40s-50s I believe. Women had to act and behave certain ways otherwise people will talk…
To be fair, I noticed he kind of lectures everyone on how they should behave besides his mom. I think pointing out areas for development isn’t mutually exclusive with having positive feelings for someone.
ep 13 is another super cute ep. at this point they pretty much living together and everyone refers to anong as…
for some reason this app won’t let me like comments but it does let me respond. I basically would heart every comment you make on this show if it would let me. anyway, his expression when she came in the room to get her nightgown was gold, like “excuse me miss, what are you up to with this move?” ahh I love them together. and how awkward he is. I also liked the part where she saw him looking at her in her mirror while she put on makeup.
Ep 12 was awesome, especially since Anong got the apology she deserved! I agree with those who commented that…
I tried to fast forward their scenes and then remembered I was watching live but on the second (and third even maybe?) watch I will probably skip them all together
