i also ship xw and xn more, but from the novel -> trailer -> drama it'll be made clear that she has romantic feelings for him. even if it's a short arc it's still love bc her whole rebirth process was just like waking up from a nap with an unchanged heart. she's now determined to change her fate but it doesn't erase past relations (how she turns still when yanlin touches her, how she fears xiewei, how she reacts differently to zhang zhe's name).

well their opposing personalities is kinda what makes her feel so remorseful about her actions in the previous life, although it's obvious who's endgame, in the next few episodes she will develop feelings for him again (as seen in trailer) and only later gets with xiewei once he's less reserved

for novels to be picked up for films they usually hafta include romance genre since it's like the fan favorite, the reverse harem thing will become more apparent once zz joins the mix. imo if they were obviously showing love 10eps in it would be rushed pacing since clearly theyre all very "traumatized" characters who wouldn't easily forget the past. i think their chemistry is interesting bc under the facade of "keeping her under my nose, ensuring she's never too far to spread my secret", xiewei develops actual love without realizing it. people have different preferences for pacing so totally understandable that it can seem slow, but in scheming dramas romance doesn't usually bloom quickly

in the ep11 trailer why does zhang zhe ask her those questions? maybe i cant pick up clues well but im so confused why he needed to run that by her, also does he have his previous memories

yes 100% the cast is perfect and pacing as well, neither too rushed or boring

ohhh i remember seeing the trailer but never actually set aside time for it, i do remember the comments on tencent were like flying everywhere

perhaps it's because many shows don't have gray/neutral characters aka evil turning good or good turning evil as the main character. heroes usually remain valiant and villains remain crude. you'll probably warm up during the next few episodes where she shows a little weakness aka her feeligns

i agree that sometimes it's too petty and cluttered but other dramas have crazier noble women ex LLTG where almost everyone was full of jealousy and rage
