The one we see BJS holding with the little blue hat is not their official child, but a child they take in out of pity (in the present timeline). Shi An is their biological child but unfortunately died centuries ago, BJS only learns of their child's existence after he revisits past events

idk i would watch the bts for chemistry, and as for ru yue, idk if you watched the heartbreaking "power-sealing" scene but you can tell she felt genuine betrayal. the betrayal hurts more when it's done by a loved one, whom she wanted to spend more time with in the mortal realm. in the current timeline, she can't get over the resentment of feeling abandoned in the past, but it'll gradually become more apparent that their feelings are mutual. like why the hell would she ask for a child with a man she didn't love? or share her power with him and fight alongside him? before this crazy hate session, there was genuine love. maybe that's hard to see now, but the microexpressions are what carry the layers of this show 🫶
