iirc Siling/Dacheng are said to be of the same origin so their titles are quite equal, the "empyrean level" is above dacheng, so his role is to guard the infinite stele / gate to three realms so he seems powerful but he's still not the highest authority. it's confusing bc in one of the episodes the north/east/south/west lords remind him of his duty to protect and detach from his emotions to keep the world safe, but they clearly can't force or directly punish him. i assume we'll see more in the 400yr flashback where the "heavenly emissary" will intervene

oh there are many scenes that explain later, basically before the LQY and BJS encounter, their mutual love became mutual hate so they both did many "vengeful things" to each other. trying to be vague to avoid spoilers: LQY felt abandoned after BJS left bc he didn't explain his intent to try to save her, so she suffered alone in mortal realm. she basically masked her hatred and betrayed him on wedding day so he feels hate too.

It's like different sides of the story so it's not exactly shown with proportional time frames, but we can infer that from escaping the illusion to fighting hong lian to BJS and LQY "breaking up", Zhang Suan was following the east direction to search and save her

this would also affect like the entire cast: baijiusi's actions are proof of his loyalty/devotion to ruyue, being able to recognize her even through her act. it's also a challenge for bailu to be able to pull off Ruyue vs Ruyue acting as Qingyue. if they were separate people (like qingyue truly has no recollection of ruyue's past), she would never win baijiusi's affection and die under his inevitable suspicion. her path as HRY allows her to reconcile with him by chance along her revenge mission. but i agree that i will miss the ditzy Li Qingyue!!

I think the details were in the microexpressions, you could tell that ling er accepted her punishment way too quickly for a "vengeful second female lead". also whenever she wasn't in front of baijiusi, she could be more lax when showing her care for qingyue. i feel like most of us are quite shocked/jaw-dropped from this, after all i only picked this up watching analysis posts on weibo 😖
