(copypasta) That's fair. It's more slice-of-life but I love it. The romance between the leads doesn't spark until…
We must have the same taste,, to me nothing can top NIF ever but after watching Yanxi Palace and now this I would rate them as : NIF>Yanxi Palace=MingLan.
I took a break to let the episodes accumulate because I enjoy bingeing my historical dramas, and now that I've reached episode 40, it's a wow from me~40 episodes later and this drama still has it's charm?it's really this good? I can't decide who's personality do I love more,, GTY who is forthright and unwavering or Minglan forever dignified, efficient, and intelligent. Nonetheless , we really have two perfect lead characters portrayed by even more incredible two actors. This drama would be nothing without such strong character building, making it clear this story is based on a book.
The scene where Minglan and GTY were walking together at the camp and having a heart to heart in ep 23 was unexpected but much needed! Minglan also sharing things that we as viewers knew but she never voiced before. Well done to the actors and directors, giving us bits and pieces of their interactions and doing it in such a beautiful way, I'm definitely here for the long haul.
No, but it probably will be licensed in futurecurrently you can watch it on most Korean drama streaming sites…
Thanks for your help. It's not on Viki actually which is why I was hoping it would be available on Netflix in my region.. Hopefully they release it in other countries soon.
The slice of life aspect in this drama is why I keep going to the next episode. It's a genre that's not done enough and with this drama being a period piece; seeing day to day events, character building, and lots of dialogue makes this even more enjoyable.
I saw a few comments here about ppl being unhappy that polygamy is involved. This is, unfortunately, the real…
Thanks for this comment, I've been rolling my eyes at all these pointless comments complaining about something that was part of history and a cultural way of life.
If I watched dramas based on the high ratings they get on this site then I would be watching a lot of lackluster dramas. Ratings and generally hyped dramas here are not to be trusted. It's been an especially bad year for kdramaland. For a first episode this drama intrigued me though, the quality seems high and I even like the OST, it fits the mood. I had an issue with one thing that made me sigh in how typical it was, but it looks like that gets resolved in the next episode.
I don't like Park Shin Hye and as a rule I avoid her work but I have hope for her in this drama, you can't mess up a good script.. maybe.
This was a nice read, thank you. Male leads are always one dimensional in dramas which is why liking them is never that important to me, rather a good female lead is a must, if she's not relateable then it's a deal breaker. Currently I've noticed Jin Han in Our Glamorous Time, he outwardly supports and appreciates the female lead ZLY, and has no issues with admitting his short comings or when he's made a mistake. Making him a very likeable male lead.

but about Lee TAE Gon you are 100% correct, he is so fine it hurts, kdramas don't make main leads like him anymore TT
