53 episodes out of 85, and man I'm wondering what else is in store for OTP, there are some seriously evil characters in this biiiii. Watching this drama and I wish kdramas could give us well written dailies like they used. I'm not saying this drama is perfect, but it just seems more real and has more heart then the 50+ series of today. Ughhh where can I find me a Gu Wang Mo???
Romance, romance, romance!Oh man, sometimes I wonder if that's the only thing, people are interested in or care…
It might be presumptuous of me, but I do think romance is the biggest factor for drama fans :) To be honest I don't know why it's like this, I think romance and the focus of it is not always needed, especially in serious plot lines because that shows the viewers that the drama has enough substance and impact then to rely on *boy chases girl while saving the world, boy gets the girl.* I think the best Asian dramas to come out in th last 10 years are ones that have little to no romance in it; Signal, Misaeng, and Nirvana in Fire.. and heck throw in White Christmas in there.
Ouran High School and Hana Kimi are legendary <3 In terms of kdrama Coffee Prince and Sungkyunkwang Scandal did the gender bender thing best. Lol I remember I had two family members literally arguing with me that Eun Chan in CP was a guy, something about Eunchan had them convinced.
Episode 6 was woooooow I am shooketh! Epic fight scene and it's in the rain???? Stop setting the bar so high because now I expect the next 54 episodes to be at the same level~~ Also Chao Xiaoshu is now a favourite character, what charisma he has.
I always rate dramas average while watching them but I couldn't help but rate this show very very high because it's so deliciously good. Finally a cdrama wuxia/fantasy that's not all colours and cinematography and beautiful people but rather selling the plot and character building.
This looks funny but I really like Sung Hoon doing family dramas, like New Tales Of Gisaeng and Five Enough. He's been type cast to play the celebrity or chaebol role but his characters come out warmer when he does those 50 episode weekend family dramas.
I'm so glad this got picked up by Viki, it was honestly a travesty that such a gem of a story was being pushed aside for idol dramas and big name dramas. Viki's subbing is unparalleled so finally I can resume this with an easy mind.
On that topic of what would make a drama worthy of a 10/10 rating, less then 10% of people said the "included love story" plot device was important.. I'm sorry but that's a joke. Scroll through countless comments here and the majority of the time the discussions are centered on the romance and kiss scenes, especially the more popular dramas. Not saying it's wrong, just seems a little inaccurate up there.
