It seems like opinions are mixed with how Ep. 7 covered so much ground in so little time. I thought it was very well done. I wouldn't say the storytelling was rushed, but rather it was just dense. The lore is quite interesting, and I also wonder about the life they built within the 10 years. Yet, living in the reality of Vivi's death is too heavy to linger in for more than an episode. From the preview for the finale, and the hints in the past few episode, I think we all have a strong hunch what is actually going on. Honestly, I know not everyone will agree, but most shows I've watched this year could use an episode or two less. Things usually are dragged out way too much at one point or another. I'm not saying the pacing was perfect, but I see it mostly as a positive that R4U is leaving people wanting more. Hopefully they can provide a satisfying conclusion. I have faith that they will!

Unfortunately. Chao planoy novels need to STOP!
I've read excepts that people have screenshot on X, and setting aside the content, the writing isn't really that great. But I have to give credit for her characters connect to each other throughout her novels. I think we are stuck with her, for better or worse 🙃 I even forgot she wrote Pluto, and that's going to be massive. I'm just going to view the adaptations as separate entities from her novels, since so far they have smoothed over the most problematic parts. idk, most dramas are going to have toxic aspects, because it's hard to tell interesting stories without conflict, controversy and angst. That said, I just read some stuff about Rolling in Love and ummmm

Unfortunately. Chao planoy novels need to STOP!
I know planoy is a controversial figure in the GL scene right now, and from what I've heard I am staying away from the novels, but I can't deny every one of her adaptations has been incredible. I think a general issue is the overuse of the same tired tropes like male antagonist, disapproving homophobic parental figures, rich people, toxic relationships. R4U separates from some of those, and by incorporating scifi/fantasy, it does stand out as great example of more storytelling possibilities in the genre moving forward.

I just want to say that Mae has thoroughly impressed me. At the end of Ep3 when Khun is playing guitar and she is sitting there lost in her thoughts over Four - she's not doing anything, but through her facial expression and slight movements, you can feel exactly what she's going through. Maybe I'm making too much of it, but even thinking about it now, I can still feel the raw emotions in that room. Of course there are other examples of her acting skills, but for some reason that's the scene that stands out for me. I wish this series was longer, but they are doing a great job with limited time and episodes.

Scientists have determined that if you find yourself inside a GL, you are 14x more likely to be run over by a car. Please be careful out there, everyone!

Title Blank
EP4: with the amount of parent drama and lack of cute romantic moments, this is really starting to feel more like…
The problem is they didn't know any of this when they met and started developing feelings. It makes things complicated, but that also plays into the story of how things develop from here. Everyone's motivations can seem justified, even those who become antagonists. I hope you can stick with it!

i have seen it countless times and every time the smart writing blows me away. AN never getting an apology or…
You are so right about Anueng. With her personality and carefree nature, it might be overlooked how much pain she really goes through. Now I'm haunted again by her words to KN, "We've always worn the same mask." To credit the writers (and the novel), KN acknowledged as much to AN's family that she may have never been happy and might even be better off asleep in a coma. So, I have no doubt everyone made it up to AN when she woke up, but I just wish I got to see it more clearly... Oh well, now time to watch the series finale again to cheer me up

Yes, I have faith in their next project too. I sometimes worry that after watching Blank I've become too picky. But we know the acting ability and the FY chemistry will be there. So, just need the same care placed into the script and we should be set for another memorable journey!
On Blank Season 2 Sep 8, 2024
For me Blank is the standard for writing and acting through the entire cast. Nothing else has come close, and I seriously wonder if Ninestar can even capture lightning in a bottle like this again. Amidst some of the wild plot revelations, all the characters were surprisingly well grounded with easy to understand motivations and believable arcs. Repeat viewings made me realize it was an even better conceived show than my high first impression. My only sizable criticism is that, for all the abuse, Anueng goes through, she never gets a satisfying on-screen apology from KN or seemingly anyone in her family. She gets everything she wants, so it's not that horrible. The ending was pretty much perfect. Still, if I could rewrite any scene, it would be that when KN calls the radio show, she was more vulnerable with her feelings and acknowledged how her hurtful some of her actions were. IMO that scene wasn't emotionally impactful enough to balance out the devastating the events earlier in the episode.

The last episode is the one that could have saved the series if it had started around the middle, precisely in…
I was still completely charmed by the show, but you are right. The last few episodes went in circles a bit, and there were a lot of interesting storylines implied in the final 5 minutes of ep8, which would have been interesting to have seen actually play out in the series.

just wanted to say that I agree with all your points. From what I've read, I think they took a lot constructive feedback for how they did things in season 1. Everything felt so rushed and underwritten. I'm glad they are getting a second chance to do something with these characters though.

Why is Ayaka surprised that Risa knows who the person she likes is? Didn't she tell her that she really likes…
There is some nuance where what she told Risa in ep 3 did not necessarily have to be interpreted as romantic love. I also think Ayaka was being so laser focused on reaching Hiroko, she wasn't fully realizing how much of her feelings she was revealing to Risa while enlisting her help.

Thank you! I guess it's better than nothing, but disappointing since they could have done so much more with this unique plot device. I was envisioning something like Kim telling Wan a secret during a dream and then Wan mentioning it later not realizing she learned it in the fantasy.

I honestly think it could have benefited from one or two less episodes, or maybe rewritten to put more focus on Lada and Earn? but, this was still an amazing start for showing how powerful LingOrm will be in the world of GL.
On My Marvellous Dream Is You Aug 9, 2024
Do they resolve the issue where they don't realize they are both having the same dreams about each other? I thought this was going to be one of the main parts of the story but it never really played into their relationship. (haven't seen last 3 eps, trying to find a motivation lol)
On Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko! Aug 9, 2024
I really enjoy Risa's character. Like Ayaka, she is very serious about her own feelings to the point of being a little reckless, but still with good intentions. It would be interesting to see a spinoff story that focuses on her journey to find love.

why is Fahlada not telling Earn about her mother and the break-up?
At first, I was annoyed that Earn didn't tell Lada the full story behind why she broke up with her. But, I came around to understanding it. She just wanted a fresh start, to take full responsibility, and not cast blame or cause problems. But, now that they are back together, and especially after the confrontation with her mom, and it was clear she still feels the same way about everything, Earn really should have said something. I understand not wanting to interfere in the mother-daughter relationship, however when the mother is actively opposed to her own daughter's happiness, you have do something.
