both me & ida's face when aoki started going off on him at his house: 😳
Hahaha the drama really did a great job making it even funnier! In the manga Ida was just like "Eh?" but in the drama he agreed to leave and really started leaving the room lolololol
Aaa this is torture.. someone plz drop the rawwwwwww
I watched it in a livestream but I think raw should be up in Dailymotion soon!! :O Or if there's a way to use JP IP, it's already available in TVer! https://tver.jp/corner/f0091286
As someone who hasn't read the manga yet (I really need to lol), I feel like the pacing is perfect. I think it's…
I agree! Even though they have skipped a lot of things from the manga, I'm still generally happy with the pacing of the drama, as well as with some of the changes they made to fit the most important arcs in 10 short episodes. And you should definitely start reading the manga after the drama to avoid any spoilers, haha! ;D
But in twitter I saw many are moarning KieKoi's ending this coming Saturday! Urgh!! I hope it does.
Yeaah, because the preview for episode 9 was called "final chapter" by the KieKoi official Twitter account so a lot of people got confused (plus the fact that there was a recap episode). But in this case "final chapter" refers to the final arc of the story which should be ep9-10. Also, I can assure you that normally, teasers for final episodes are more dramatic haha! 😆
ngl I was surprised when they announced wanting to adapt a shoujo manga that’s not even 30 chapters yet. I foresee…
Me too! But I guess it works since each episode is only around 22mins. And I also think it will run for another 5 years especially considering that it got more attention now because of the drama.
To anyone who's still confused, this TV program magazine shows that KieKoi is still airing on December 18, so there will be definitely 2 more episodes left: https://weibo.com/2036229485/L2Z070rhR?refer_flag=1001030103_ (I think the OP thought at first that there will be 11 episodes, but as we now know, the other episode is just a recap) It also has the 終 sign which means end.
I think it's amusing how some viewers think the story is progressing slowly while viewers who have read the manga already (like me) think that the drama is moving too fast since they have been skipping a lot of arcs/chapters/scenes from the manga. 😂 If the drama has been giving more screen-time to Akkun and Hasshi like the manga does, it will be even much "slower" actually. 😂
Recap episode: the staff made an effort to blur the background in the quick BTS interview with Michieda and Meguro (I guess to avoid spoiling everyone) but I'm fairly sure that those are Christmas illuminations. 😂
This series is so sweet and lighthearted. Are the characters naive, silly, and adorable? Absolutely, and I love…
Same here!! My first ever live-action BL is a Japanese movie from around 14-15 years ago which is literally called "Boys Love" which caused me grief at a young age lol. So I'm thankful that for the past few years I can finally enjoy some cute, pure, and funny JP BL dramas/movies (because I'm also such a sucker for romcom)! It's great that I can watch cute ones when I feel like it and then there are still the more mature/serious ones that I can watch when I'm in the mood.
Arg I really really dislike comments like those... It's like hating Disney for not including sex scenes in their…
Haha for real! If you hate something and find it stupid, best thing to do is to drop it and move on with something else or re-watch a series that you liked to make you feel good, why go through all that trouble of watching each episode and go to its MDL page to say how much you hate it lol. Constructive criticism is fine but comparing it to other dramas which have different genre and/or atmosphere and even bad mouthing the actors is a bit weird, honestly. Actors and staff shoot during these challenging times to give us (although originally we're not even the target audience lol) entertainment so I can only be thankful.
tangentially related but if anyone wanna see what mangas Kiekoi is published withhttps://share.api.weibo.cn/share/265983353.html?weibo_id=4614205687204585like…
AH!! I saw this one before and I think it's wonderful how Ida's profile indicates that he has a "boyfriend" (and he's the only one who does obviously lol, everyone else has "heroine"). I hope KieKoi will pave the way to normalizing same-sex romance stories in shoujo magazines/manga.
yeah like, there's already a plethora of mature BL and yet when Japan releases a non-toxic and just pure fluff…
Yeah, I think it's understandable to criticize or be disappointed at something if it has been advertised as being something else entirely but KieKoi is literally being introduced as a silly love story so I'm confused at some of the people's reaction haha! It's as if being too fluffy or comedic or slow is a bad thing?? ^^;;; Some of us just want to watch something cute and short to make us smile after a stressful day, if I'm in the mood to watch a mature and serious/realistic story I'll make an effort to look for something else. Have a great day too! ^^
I'm not sure what other people are expecting to watch when the introduction in the first episode (literally indicated in the first 4 seconds of the series) is "this is somewhat a SILLY love story about a group of hardworking, goodhearted high school students". I'm sure they put "silly" there for a reason lol. Also a quick research would let you know that the source material is a shoujo romcom manga, serialized under Bessatsu Margaret with a target audience of girls aged roughly 12 to 17 so if you're looking for something serious, profound, thought-provoking, realistic or mature, then I guess this is not for you.
I have watched ep 8 now without any willingness, because I am so tired and there is nothing to watch, so my conclusion…
Your comment is quite long, I honestly gave up reading everything halfway but I think it's amazing how you can spend considerable amount of time typing a long comment about something you don't like. Personally I simply drop a drama and move on with my life (e.g. watch something else, do other productive things) if I come across something that is not my cup of tea. I don't even write such a long comment for something I love so I'm truly amazed by your dedication.
man, that teacher is unprofessional af, who talks about such things with a student
In the manga, he's still a university student (2nd year) but is teaching at a cram school Aoki is attending (like a private tutor, totally not related to their school at all) so it's kind of a less formal setting, I guess that's why he's able to talk about things like that with Aoki (not saying that it's okay for cram school teachers to talk about such things too though). But I agree that him being an intern teacher in Aoki's school in the drama made him appear really unprofessional, I think it can actually even count as sekuhara in Japan.

Also, for TV Asahi dramas, they usually call the last episode as 最終話 in the official tweets/website. But since the KieKoi official accounts only call episode 9 as 第9話, I'm fairly sure it's not the last episode yet. (Also, teasers for final episodes are normally more dramatic, haha!)
