I like the first episode, it's obviously intentional that all of Meguru's colleagues are suspicious and creepy, but they're doing a too good job at that XD Also Riku's doing a difficult role again... I hope he gets a happy role after this lol.

Mamiana (Sawamura Ikki) is also not included in this sequel. I guess Justice and Mamiana are meant to be "movie only" characters that's why they're no longer included in this season, and instead we get two new characters.

I understand what you mean, when I watched the first episode, I really found Miri a realistic heroine because of her circumstances, but from episode 2 onwards, a lot of her interactions with the other characters became "????" for me until eventually I just find her frustrating and then ended up losing interest in how her relationship with Sora will develop (this is coming from a big Riku fan who hyped this drama a lot in Twitter and find Mayu and Riku so cute together lol). But oh well, there are still 3 episodes left so I hope they manage to give Miri a good character development... 😅

I really like Sana so I hope she gets the happy ending she deserves! 😭

Indeed, after each episode, I stalk the AnaWasu tag to check if what does the JP audience think about it (because I'm thinking "surely I'm not the only one not liking Miri and finding SoraMiri pair questionable??" lol) and while a lot of watchers have the same feeling as us, there are also still some people who support Miri and Sora and are excited about the future developments haha! So yes, I guess they do exist. 😂

OMG I tweeted almost exactly the same thing - that I've already lost interest in their love story especially after ep5, I'm just watching for Riku's acting and to know if Sana will have a happy ending 😂 Really quite disappointing because I was really hyped about this drama ever since it was announced. I don't think the script is bad, but Miri as the main character is really quite unappealing so it hinders me from enjoying the drama 😭

OMG! Same thoughts exactly!! Miri has been very frustrating and annoying that I can't really root for her even after 6 episodes, and while Riku's acting as Sora is wonderful, if we take Sora's illness away, he's actually a boring character (I'm sorry, Riku, ily). 😭

Also still don't understand what Sora likes about Miri, I know love is supposed to be something ~unexplainable~ but seriously, production team is having a hard time convincing me as to why Sora is attracted to Miri lol (I'm just trying to think that Miri is Sora's "type", simple as that 😂)

Agree! Mayu and Riku look good together but for some reason, they lack chemistry as Sora and Miri, I'm confused 😂

Episode 1 was very promising! Miri as the heroine is quite realistic compared to heroines from some other dramas. And Sora seems such a fleeting and delicate character, can't wait to know more about his backstory. <3

Hmmm no, I would recommend to finish season 1 (2021) then proceed with season 2 (2023) before watching the movie. A lot of scenes in the movie are reminiscent of scenes from season 1, plus lots of symbolic parallelism between season 1 and the movie, and you'd only be able to appreciate these kind of things better (along with the character development) if you watched both S1 and S2.

Yep, we already know in the drama that Hira called Kiyoi back, but seeing Hira actually doing it is refreshing for me because I just love seeing Hira in a university setting since it makes him look like a "normal" person lol (so more scenes of him in the university no matter how short it is, the better for me XD). <3

And yes, I agree, it's still better for everyone to see the drama version after all and just treat special edit version as a bonus version.

Oh yes, that too! I think they did cut out some very significant scenes and monologues that actually help the audience to know more about HiraKiyo's personalities and thought-process (I also think they should have retained Hira's monologue in ep1 where he said he knows following Kiyoi is creepy but he can't help it since he's so curious, because that's a line that shows very well how Hira is actually self-aware lol)... So I guess it's still better to watch the actual drama after all (not sure if anyone has actually watched the special edit without watching the drama, I hope none!).

But to be fair, I appreciate some of the added scenes, especially the one where they showed Hira calling back Kiyoi when he learned that Koyama is sick since for some reason, I really like seeing Hira in university~

Definitely not my cup of tea too but Riku as Iori was super handsome in it so I managed to finish it lol

Ngl, watching some iconic scenes which originally have "Follow" as BGM suddenly having a different BGM in this version is kind of unsettling lol. Also, I think they shouldn't have cut the scene where Hira's phone fell into the water... it may seem like an insignificant scene to some but having that scene in the drama made it more clear and impactful as to why Hira changed his number and never contacted Kiyoi after graduation, while in the special edit version, the impact was gone since the reason why he changed his number was only mentioned in passing~

Please let the script be a good one! I had high hopes for Manatsu no Cinderella (where Riku currently appears in) but the script turns out to be very messy so I hope the script for this one will be good! 🙏

The most amazing thing is that Riku was actually the one who was filming Yusei that time. Director Mai left that scene to the both of them, and Riku's name appeared twice in the credit. First as Hira's actor and second as the one who was shooting through the viewfinder - Hira Kazunari (Hagiwara Riku). 😭😭😭
