The woman was basically (mentally) abused by her adopted mother from the get-go. That's some heavy baggage she is carrying. Basically she didn't want to lose her "family" again. after being adopted by the Meng family.

Fu Wenyin is SQ's adopted mother making MYC her adopted brother. They haven't explained in the drama why the Meng family adopted SQ, in the book is explained very early.

Give her time, she WILL DO IT.

Basically she was afraid of losing her "family" again, especially since she was adopted at 10. It has not been explained in the drama why she is an orphan (in the book it is explained very early). Basically she wanted both SY and her family. Since she couldn't have SY, she chose "family" but at a price. And the "mom" all she wants is to get better status for the family at the cost of her children's happiness.

In the book one of the nurses gets together with one of the firefighters but I don't see it yet.

A firefighter dies in the novel but he is from another squadron. It does affect SY because the fire was preventable. I am afraid here they will change things up, and I hope I am wrong.

Book_Wenyin is horrible, but drama_Wenyin is worst

In the book is at the end of chapter 38 (of 68 chapters). In the series I saw somewhere around epi 24/25.
