As one of Peng Xiao Ran’s big fans, I’m so excited waiting for her upcoming dramas. After finishing Jun Jiu Ling, I thought Novoland Princess of the Plateau would be aired soon but no updates until now. Not really so excited reading her Novoland synopsis, seems dark and tragic. But this Twin Flower drama may give new hope for high rated drama. It’s definitely a must watch drama on my list.
This drama is the junior version of Yi San drama. It has more rom com than Yi San which focuses more on politics. I love this drama so far, and try to predict what pretty much would happen based on Yi San drama. Apart from the names which are recorded in the history (Yi San, and royal families name), some names are similar in both drama, such as Sung Deok Im and Sung Song Yeon (FL in Yi San). So I hope at least in this version drama, the FL won't die from liver cancer as Song Yeon did (Concubine Ui).
lol. I lost count of how many times I rewatched the episode where Dong Yi discovers the prefecture officer is…
In this drama, the king seems cruel and ruthless but in Dong Yi and Yi San, he is very caring and a very wise king.
Actually, Yi San father is the cruel one (killed many innocent people, this was also recorded in history if I’m not wrong, that’s why the king (grandfather) had no choice but decided to give death penalty for his son).
I came here after watching The King's Affection. It almost finish and I have to have another historical drama to wait for every week as my routine =D. I've watched Dong Yi many times and Yi San only once, so I also expect alot from this new drama. Really hope for a happy ending like Dong Yi. (Dong Yi is so perfect, perfect story for a historical romance and a satisfying ending)
Im going to wait til it end before try to watch .. this drama takes a toll on my anxiety level hahaha not going…
Hahaha I know, after reading the synopsis I think The Princess from Plateau is more tragic and bloody compared to Pearl Eclipse, so yeah better to do as you said. This time I don't want to expect anything before the drama finished airing.
I love this drama so much. First it's about introducing modern cookings to monarch era, then travelling back in time as a queen (not a body on someone powerless). From episode 1 up to 20, so perfect, I can watch it many times in the future. The balance between romantic, comedy, and seriousness on facing the political issues, the chemistry between main leads, everything was perfect.
As my personal opinion, the only thing I don't like in this drama is the actor playing the king. I thought it because he had to act ridiculous as a stupid king, but as the drama was carrying on became more serious, I still didn't like the king. Maybe not handsome? It would be better to choose other actress for this role.
But other than that, this drama is totally recommended.
I'm now watching ep 15, it starts getting more and more interesting. At the end of ep 14, my heart almost stopped when Hwi and Ji Woon hugged and kissed while JW's father was watching. The problem is JW's father has already started to get suspicious on Hwi for being Yeon Seon/ Dami. I couldn't imagine when he finally realized that the one he killed was the real Hwi. JW's father who always blindly followed Hwi's grandfather's orders, finally made an unforgivable mistake, but since he loves his son and wife, I'm sure he eventually will help them.
So sad that this drama has come to end. I used to wait for new episodes every week, so it has become my routine. I think the next Novoland series will be Novoland: The Princess from Plateau. After finishing Pearl Eclipse, I wonder if the new one will be better, because I will only watch since the FL is Peng Xiaoran. My fav artist after Goodbye My Princess and Jun Jiu Ling.
May I ask if this drama is another low budget drama with too much romcom compared to the seriousness in facing political problems that happen or something worth watching?
(I have dropped Rebirth For You because for a historical drama, moreover, in palace setting, it has too much comedy, lack in seriousness, FL too playful and lack of manner despite being a princess. BTW, I'm sorry for RFY fans, this is just my own view on the drama.)
So its an open ending!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I cried my heart out in the finale scene of FangShi!!! 😭😭😭But happy…
Although the emperor and Tilan died, I feel like they had HE more than HZ and FJM. I didn’t expect FJM to be the grandmaster that the little emperor and HZ mentioned at the ending scenes, I thought it was Youdu, because when the little emperor was diagnosed born prematurely, the doctor said he wouldn’t survive. So when FJM became his baixi, I though he died at that time in HZ arms. (exactly like the director wants us to believe).
In my opinion, it’s not an open ending or alternate ending because HZ and the little emperor talk about his lessons, so although I don’t understand why and how FJM survive at the final scene, it obviously tells us that FJM is clearly the one who teaches the little emperor ( the final scene “FJM under the tree” is clearly not one of those dreams/ imaginations).
Just saw ep 48 teaser, I’m too scared to predict the ending 🥶🥶🥶. War at the end of episode doesn’t give a good feeling. At least I still saw shifu on the final teaser. I got the feeling that the ending will truly similar to Princess Weiyoung. If we want a happy ending, it would be better to stop watching in the middle of ep 47, when FJM and HS live together happily in their own house, just like a normal wife and husband, and consider it as the perfect HE.
