Im guessing that uncle was already dead by the time ML was saved by his father so thats probably why he had no clue. And uncle also wore that mask so noone knew who he really was except pingshu

MQY told CZ that he would marry her openly but then he rushed things after she saved him and as they were about to marry, she started imagining him as a demon. Her master practically won and she was convienced he is the bad guy. So after all this, she told him she is leaving and he got really upset. He then blackmailed her and she went back to her sect where she got punished.

I thought it was her master at first but then i remember that when they first encountered him, her master was with yuzhi's father. SO is he Uncle Li? Has he been lying the whole time? I highly doubt it, im racking my brain to figure this out
