Yes same actor but different roles. Zhang San is Xia Hou Dan's original name, before he transmigrated into the novel. These ending parts basically show his memories from then. So it was him that killed the maid

the crown prince is not the emperor. they are just played by the same actor. The kid is Xiahou Dan's son after the empress dowager forced him to have a baby with a consort.

It is somehow explained later, but not clearly. For Xiahou Dan, Wanyin was like a savior who would help him survive in the palace against the empress and Prince Duan. He went through a lot of stuff after he transmigrated, and he felt all alone. So when Wanyin came and was like "how are you," it was like he finally found someone like him

HI (again lol). Yes, the time stopped, so Zhang san will go back to being a child, and Wang Cui Hua to her old usual life. He will wait till she gets in the book, if that makes sense, and by then he will be the same age as her. For instance, Zhang San will go back to 2011 (im sorry i dont know the year I'm just guessing ) and Wanyin to 2026.
Now, as for the death part, my only guess is that he did not know what would happen after they died in the novel, so he just prioritised survival.

Tbh I don’t remember. But the empress dowager forced him to have a son. The crown prince isn’t from the modern world and he doesn’t know English. Xiahou Dan is. If I remember correctly from today’s eps they are played by the same actor so it may be confusing

It is very similar to the donghua, with a few changes. It is definetely worth it. Personally, I found the start quite boring and rushed but now it has gotten much better
