I agree. The character of Hiroto is young and sexy, but I believe he's a long way to go as a person. As I see it, Hiroto is simply the sort of electric shock our heroine needed to come out of her too relaxed mode: once his purpose is fulfilled and she's back to being a woman, then she can be her best friend partner and Hiroto can go on with his life. Needless to say, he's also going to learn from the experience and possibly pursue a better style of life than the one he's been living up to now. In short, I think the couple Hiroto/Sakura is not to be: it's the means to an end. Or, so I believe.

I also agree with what you say about J-dramas in general. I started my addiction with J-dramas and actors, so I must confess at being partial to them. While some of my favourite dramas are Korean, the ones I hate the most are Korean as well. Japanese always put me in the best of moods. :)

I did add Nine to my list, but I fear it may take some time before I get to actually watch it. I'm very much in Korean off mode and Japanese mood right now. But I see you've given it a 9 (or an 8? LOL), so I suppose it must be really good and you know that mentioning LLL will be the end of my resolve, LOL. :D

I just have to be careful to choose the right moment to watch things: if I don't, I usually end up hating the drama. It's what happened to me with That Winter The Wind Blows: I should know to stay away from Korean melo, the genre usually gets on my nerves and so it did.

Sorry, I know you liked it - as a matter of fact, I picked it up for what you wrote in your profile page - but as I said I chose the very wrong moment to watch it and didn't appreciated it the way it probably deserved. :)

I'm afraid most J-dorama air 1 episode per week only. Subs takes usually much longer than their Korean counterparts, so, as a norm, I don't watch airing j-dramas either and wait for them to be completely subbed. This one is quite popular, therefore subs come out pretty quickly, but it's 1 episode every thursday anyway, and they aired the 6th yesterday. I can't blame you if you decided to wait before starting it, it's going to take at least 3 weeks before it's fully completed (I think it's 10 episodes).
Hope I helped. :D

Love Shuffle is one of my favourites, so I'll just wait for you to watch it and let me know what you think, please. :D

The greatest Love and The World they live in I have both dropped, but for very different reasons.
The first is a Hong sisters' drama and I am no fan of them. I don't like their humour and I invariably hate their heroines, so henpecked and irritating. On top of it, I have never dislikes any asian actors or actresses, with 2 notable exceptions: Cha Seung Won and Moon Geun Young.
To my defence, I have tried to watch it, but dropped it after a few episodes because I didn't even crack a smile.

TWTTLI, on the other hand, is a drama I may pick up again, I just need to be in the right mood. It has a modern feel, adult issues (in terms of feelings, not what they show) and, last but not least, my beloved Binnie. Simply, I picked it up at the wrong time. :)

Ha! Where to start?
Last Cinderella and its popularity. I am 100% sure this is due to Miura Haruma, a lot of scenes of him half naked, under the sheets, under the shower... figure why at once a horde of fangirls watch and swoon over a drama about 40 year old women! On my part, while I can't deny my hormones are stirred, I'm enjoying the comedy a lot more and just hope they will keep it going.

Switch girl. Since I've just tried to resemble a sensible adult woman, I'm now going to ruin whatever effect I had obtained by confessing that not only I watched the 1st season and enjoyed it, but rushed to watch the 2nd, which I didn't like as much but by then I was completely mesmerized by Renn Kiriyama and for all I cared he could have declaimed the shopping list. The drama is, by all criteria, off the wall. If you enter it knowing of its silliness, no harm is done. ;)

Pretty, so nice to read you! :D Thank you for welcoming me back, indeed it's great to be out of the slump, I was beginning to feel like an alcohol addict who's finally cured. Imagine that!!! :P (Not that I've ever been an alcohol addict, but I'm confident you'll get the simile, lol)

Everything's going fine in real life and everything's funny on the drama watching front. Right now I'm watching 3 Japanese dramas, all of them ranging from funny to histerical:
- Last Cinderella, rom-com (I'd rather say it's a hot-com, since its attractions are a hilarious heroine and 2 hot guys)
- Share House no Koibito - reminds me a little of Sunao Ni Narenakute, with its modern yet odd characters in their 30ies and 40ies
- Switch Girl - don't ask me too much. In normal conditions I would never admit at watching such a thing, but right now it's perfect for me. Histerical. LOL

How about you? :)

Don't force yourself, you may end up appreciating it less than it deserves. I believe you need to be in the right mood for a specific drama, and finding that moment is often the key to our likings.
For instance, I'm watching and actually enjoying "Switch Girl!!", possibly the silliest, most manga-like, absurdly ridiculous drama ever. But I was so much in the mood for comedy I gave it a try and it worked! :D

Isn't he? The first thing I saw him in was Tada, kimi wo aishiteru and I distinctly remember how at first sight I thought him cute, at second glance I thought him intriguing and by the end I wanted to kiss him senseless. LOL

I know what you mean. Koizora has been one of my very first J-movies watched in streaming and I did love the two main characters, although by that time I had started thinking Japanese only made tragic movies about incest or cancer. But as I said, I liked the movie. Not enough to try the drama though. And the white-blond hair doesn't suit everyone.

Ah, who can blame you? There is something about Lovely Gong Yoo that is utterly irresistible, not to mention the awesome drama that is Coffee Prince, one of my all time favourites.
As for Playful Kiss, the whole Itazura Na Kiss story is already difficult to digest, what with that über silly heroine stalking the guy, but the Korean managed to butcher whatever good there was in it with the most horrible editing and some stony acting performances. :P

It's THAT cupcake, yes. He was also a fantastic Hiro in Koizora the movie, but I have to say he's exceedingly hot in this Last Cinderella. Therefore, not only I'm not going to sue you for being superficial, but I join the club of the drooling ladies and have a great time at that! Ha! LOL

Hiroshi Tamaki, my first asian obsession. It's thanks to him and his interpretation of Chaki in Nodame Cantabile I became an addict. :D

You mean the second lead in Sharehouse? The pervert? LOL

I'm also watching Fuyu no Sakura, which is a more sedate, more tragic drama. As a matter of fact, I'm taking it in very small doses, one episode a week or so.

Hope you can join in any common watching and discussion. Brushy comments needed. ;);)

Twinnie!! :D What if I hug you and you imagine it to be from gorgeous Hiroshi? ;)

After a good half year of drama slump and related drama depression, I'm finally back on solid ground with an all Japanese (with some Taiwan interludes) watching.
1. Last Cinderella - Akai suggested it and I'm enjoying it very much. It's histerically hilarious and Miura Haruma is just to-die-for-hot in this. I am not so sure where you stand with older woman/much younger man relationships, but if you have no objection to the topic I recommend it. It's still airing.

2. Share House no Koibito - I saw the 1st episode and loved it. Some compared it to Love Shuffle so I am intrigued. Love the heroine in it. :D

3. Trying to watch My Splendid life for the sole sake of Jerry Yan but I'm not sure I can go on. All other characters except for him are unwatchable. LOL
