In the novel that I read, Xian is his biological mother. She had 2 sons Qi and Jin. But since emperor was sick when Jin was born and someone predicted calamity for the emperor because of Jin , he was sent to the southern border to fight in the military and he was trained by Chuchu's father / mentor.
Later, Jin gets adopted as the empress as her legal son and becomes the crown prince and emperor.
Don't know if the drama will follow after the novel.

She probably hates this child since she kept mentioning his older brother Qi more than once. It looks like she is pretty calculating knowing well that the seventh will not bring her any rewards as such like the becoming the dowager. The father is truly smitten by his son.

Well - in the drama - she saved her brother, and cousin and we will have to wait for her to save her sister and father. So, the drama has been progressing as they said in the synopsis. So, why are you criticising about it?

IT is good so far. Probably worth watching. Like every episode so far. As long as you realize it is a journey to achieve anything in those days, it is good.

yep. Kocowa does not show the starting title and credits and they showed it only at the end. Definitely a frog jumping.🐸

Few other scenes that I enjoyed in 104 ep.
1. I had a gaggle of laughs seeing Gina and MG mother . How she treated GH despicably, she is going to get treated that way from Gina. I had a good laugh when both the mother and son were talking about the baby and completely ignored Gina.

2. What was that fall from the ladder? Looked so forced.

3. Are the Seo's gloating that their surname will be for MG baby. It should be the mother's right if she does not want him involved. Full custody and still no right to choose the baby's last name.

4. GH father eating his humble pie after destroying his daughter's life.

5. Does GH grandmother have dementia ? She was looking so like it. Sad to see parents going through this phase in life.

6. The icing on the cake was GH calling DS to take her home. Oooh the look on MG. Worth a thousand diamonds.

THE BEST - with MG watching them emotionless.

I have lost trust in K-Dramas ; The director is from Three brothers bravely and it was horrible direction. Great actors but story and direction was not good. I am not going to start any k-Dramas for now. Just tired of seeing the toad. Will hibernate for the summer or watch some c-dramas.

I hate everytime MK comes on screen. He has the audacity to say that he would not agree to a divorce if she does not allow him to be a father. He was lame husband and now he wants this responsibility. And he changes according to his mother or his whim. GH needs to get serious with this if she wants her child not be influenced by him.

Nope. Don't know where you are at, but she is stupid till the end. As of 104 eps. So, don't expect any thing different than what you are watching.

Well - this show teaches all the things one should not learn in real life

she did not raise him well. She should have been strict and taught them what they can ask and what they cannot . Also, saying yes to everything they ask - just because it is your child is wrong. Parent should say NO when they feel they are being taken advantage and that is what this is.

As @kyra said it is a slow burn. Nothing really happens for a couple of episodes and then there is one batch in one episode you cannot miss. In ep 20 she talks about her past with San yang - which we were shown before in snippets in various episodes. But this is the first episode she is opening up with him and talking about it and thanking him too. So, it turned out to be a good episode. There is progress in every episode, but very slow.

Agree - they are two different dramas and no need to be correlated or even compared whose POV this story is told.

GH should have spat out about Gina in front of her parents. She should have talked about her MIL too. Such a classic two peas in a pod pair . think they are on top of the world - greedy, abusive and heartless.
