Yeeeeah she has quite the track record for bad endings. Not bad as in 'character x dies' but as in unsatisfying. A big part of me didn't want to give Mouse a chance but what can I say? I'm a sucker for suspense thrillers lol

I'm not sure what you mean by 'brain transplants' but the bandage was from his massive head injury. My guess is that he's always had psychopathic traits and while normally he keeps up his friendly persona, with his head hurting he couldn't tolerate the bird's noise so he 'solved the problem' so to speak.

I like your theory! But unfortunately the scriptwriter is infamous for ruining her dramas in the last 1-3 eps, so it's probably best to keep expectations low :')

Lol couldn't have said it better myself. Really hope she's grown as a writer, or at the very least people on the crew were like 'um hey maybe don't ruin your third drama in a row' and we get something satisfying. Like you said, doesn't have to be happy, but has to fit with the world and the plot. If it's misery porn, let it not be so just for the sake of upsetting the viewers, but because it makes sense.

The odds terrify me and yet here I am, waiting for next week's episodes. Waiting for the warning signs.

It's been years and I still haven't forgotten Black's ending. I've never hated an ending so much. It's still a forbidden title in my household lol.

I was so excited for this until I saw the screenwriter... I really hope it doesn't go the 'terrible ending route' of all her other dramas. I'm enjoying it so far but I almost dropped it when I saw her name. Please don't let this be another Black or 14 days...

Vincenzo is a black comedy, so it isn't fair to compare it to Beyond Evil. They're both targeting different audiences and have different goals in mind. Beyond Evil is telling a detective story and trying to keep suspense high while Vincenzo's main goal is to entertain its viewers. There's nothing wrong with either and liking one doesn't necessarily mean you won't like the other. I like Beyond Evil's narrative but Vincenzo is a great show to wind down with or to lift your mood. Different goals.

Yeah it was a big disappointment at the end. I won't fault the rest of the series for it, it's still a great show, but the ending soured my feelings and it just didn't sit well with me.

It's an interesting theory and one I've heard before. We actually had people suspecting SY was BH's past incarnation at I believe episode 2 or 3. I personally don't vibe with it. Not because I don't think it's possible or that I don't see the hints, but because it feels like a cop-out. It's a way to keep people complicit with the separation of the 2 main characters at the end. They never officially state that is what happened and so it's left ambiguous for the viewer to decide. Open endings like that are normally okay, but because of the nature of Mr. Queen doing so feels a lot like queer baiting. This way, their more conservative audience can justify it by saying that BH is only feeling SY's love for the king and that this is SY's love story while their more open-minded audience can theorize on ways they could have been together like this. As someone who is queer, I guess it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth? I would have been fine if it was fully integrated into the story because it would have been an admittance that BH and CJ love each other, but they didn't do that.

I also just don't like SY as a character much, and her happy ending didn't really mean anything to me because we spent so little time with her that she was practically a stranger. And the little we got of her didn't keep me interested. So I think I'll stay bitter for now. But fortunately we have a full line up of new dramas starting this month and next, so hopefully I'll find something to take its place :)

I get where you're coming from with the leads. For me, it felt less like asshole characters and more like bad writing. I can see how these characters could work really well in a series if the writing could back up certain traits they have as flaws and not gloss over them. I don't think I had as strong a negative feeling towards the ML as you did but I totally get your pov. A lot of times he felt like pretty cardboard. There were parts I liked and it's been a while but I don't remember any particularly bad acting on his part, mostly bad writing. The FL I DO remember some bad acting, particularly the parts where Igumi was in control of her body.

Episode 15 was definitely pretty bad, but I didn't really talk about it because I didn't care about it much honestly;; I was less interested in the series at that point and was going through the motions. Then they killed Rang, and I got mad because he was just so weirdly well-written in amongst the rest of the cast. As for LY's poor treatment of LR, I don't have much of an opinion either way because the flashback writing was so spotty that it never felt very clear to me. I know the plot points of what happened but not the details, nor the timeframe for anything. It doesn't really show the abandonment much other than when the forest was set on fire and LR's puppy died, and I feel I needed clearer writing to make a decision on how I felt about their baggage.

Yeah I agree that scene made me really sad honestly. And I do understand that CJ and SY had a connection beforehand, but to me it still feels like she didn't earn her happy ending, and all of the things BH did are what made CJ come around. Plus I don't think we saw enough of the real SY for me to care about her. Like someone else said, it felt like the ML ended up with the SFL.

I agree, he stole the show! It's weird how much I disliked him before the second last episode, and then suddenly I was sad for him and missing him.

So long as you have a strong threshold for your suspension of disbelief, I think this is off to a good start. I don't think this show cares too much about realism, but they did a good job of creating the atmosphere and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.

I agree completely! I really wish things had been done differently in the last epsiode, but other than that it was a very fun and enjoyable series and I hope we get something similar in the future.

The writing may be kind of weak but the OST, the acting and the decent cinematography are still drawing me in. It's not an amazing show, but it's still a lot of fun. I just don't think it's the type you'd want to analyze too closely.

And what really gets me is that BH called out BI for not recognizing that SY was a different person, and yet CJ doesn't realize it either at the end when BH leaves SY's body. He makes note of her addressing him formally and... that's about it. Feels a bit hypocritical I guess?
