There was a time before LYF??? lolYes, I remember not being that taken with the trailer, but that first episode…
I wish they kept the beautiful momentum. The beautiful passage of time montages...and the slice of life feeling through out season one. I was so heartbroken not able to see those.
Its so ironic because those people moaning about how the great things Xiangliu did but not known or acknowledged…
Wow...you really are full of misinformation. LMAO....if your not touting XL villainy, you are tooting corporate conspiracy.
XL is a fan favorite from the get-go. He will make or break the drama. From a producing and marketing strategy, he will need to be carefully thought about.
BTW, XL had over 100 scenes cut out, a MAJORITY from season 2. It's not about the screentime. In all character led stories, the character arc carries it. XL's character has some of society's most ideal concepts packed into him (loyalty, honor, patriotism, bravery, unspoken love, unconditional compassion), he is going to speak to people who hold these ideas close to their hearts. These paired with Tan Jianci's performance was impeccable. Plus, censorship is going to drool over XL's character because he basically a walking billboard for Confucian thought.
It's not anyone fault, Jing's character lacked these concepts...he wasn't built like that from the get-go in TH writing. If you have beef, go beef with TH.
As for added scenes of XL, we would trade those useless scenes for the ones that were censored out ANY DAY. WHY? Because it would go to show YaoLiu more powerful and intimate, and goes to show XY's true love was always been XL.
IIRC, Jing was never expected to become such a popular character. I guess Jing's popularity must have come as…
BTW...the translation is not biased towards XL or YaoLiu. Jingers are always finding conspiracy somewhere. Aside from glossing over some details, and more nuanced Chinese idioms, the fan translation is pretty decent, even the google translate (which is super literal translation) follows similarly. I can send you the chinese version and you can use the google lens to read if you like...but, the issue with google lens is that it sometimes get names incorrect.
Hmmm... I thought he had more screen time in the first part coz he has less this time coz his absence for how…
Season one, there were 39 episodes, and his screen time was very little. There was one episode, he was in it for like 1 minute, before they left us on a cliff hanger...which LYF does pretty well using XL for. hahaha.
Someone, several comments ago, asked if what XL did for XL could be considered love, even though he would never let her know. Another person replied yes, because his love language is Acts of Service.
My primary love language (both giving and receiving) is Acts of Service, so I understand everything XL has done, even his reasons. I am generalizing, but I assume most people who love XL probably have Acts of Service as either their primary or secondary love language. Acts of Service people don’t expect payback; we simply do because that’s how we show love. We are also prone to being taken advantage of because we don’t voice our needs like people who are attuned to other love languages.
If you are curious about what your love language is, you could probably Google a free test. I wonder how many of us in XL Nation are also Acts of Service people?
You are my media literacy soul mate ( TДT)OMGAD! I been saying this FOREVER!
I fought a lot of battles on this matter. TH had always been very vocal that everything started with XL, and though she abandoned XL's origin story, XY's journey to a peaceful life was built around it.
Despite TH saying that CX is the male lead, from one artist's perspective to another, it always felt like TH was experimenting with the idea of a male lead. There is a reason why XL has the most iconic romance scenes, more romantic tropes, and the strongest one-liners.
LYF was more than just XY's entanglements and how her trauma shaped her decisions. It was also XL's journey to his demise through XY's eyes.
And for a character with less than 20% of screen time and the least amount of lines, he is the only character that has gone viral because TH poured her heart and soul into him. No words were wasted on XL. An artist only does that for the main character.
Yes, and it's also a matter of what the creators think is important to the story, more than fairness or unfairness.…
EXACTLY! and to animate just XL true form would have taken alot of manpower... Character design and concept, modeling, storyboard, texture, rigging, motion capture, and particle generating. lmao....it is unfortunate that other stuff got sidelined but PRIORITIES! 😂🤭
