I may not be over about this drama but have to move on. The whole cast was excellent. However, almost most of…
DW is the only one who doesn't know how to voice act and deliver lines clear enough for historical dramas. Everyone used thier own voices...most main and support cast except for DW and JC are trained actors. The gap is pretty big.
JC is basically an acting prodigy. If he had more acting opportunities during his Idol days, he would have shot to super stardom in his 20's already.
You came into this world alone, without familial love. You've only known the violence of slavery, filled with disdain, pessimism, and distrust.
Yet, above all, even if the world was unkind to you, you loved a love beyond words, practiced unpayable compassion, and held unwavering loyalty.
As you leave this lifetime, you choose to be free of regrets, grudges, and hate. So let me carry these burdens for you.
In your next life, may a love as courageous as you find you in your darkest hour, hold your hand, and stand tall with you. So when the world turns against you, you won't have to face a thousand arrows alone.
Only a love worth fighting for is a love worth sacrificing everything for.
Once upon a time, when I was a teen, I dated a two childhood friends at different phases of my high school years (one in my sophomore and the other my senior year). Both of them had families that didn't approve of me because my family was poor and uneducated. One didn't fight for me, the other one did. One was like Jing, the other one like Xiang Liu. The Jing-like one broke up with me without a fight, the Xiang Liu-like one told his family I am here to stay. Guess who I am married to for the last 20 plus years and have three beautiful children? Yes, the one who fought for me and empowered me to be a better person. He was the only one I could rely on, Like in XY's song, he was the tree while I was the vine, holding onto him to grow.
So yeah, Xiang Liu's love is more precious and beautiful.
Chill XL nation and Cang Xuan homies, only XY and Jing gets to waive thier trauma card like it's nobody's business, make morally ambiguous decisions, hurt thier loved ones, and play victim. kkkk...why? Because thier love is pure, written in the stars, blessed by all of the heavens and bestowed by Emperor Pangu, the man himself. This kind of love trencends all time and space, span beyond several lifetimes, and deserves worship worthy of the true gods. They must do everything they need to be happily ever after, kkk.
XL is a only a demon, unworthy of love and redemption. While Cang Xuan, unworthy due to his ambition and his sickly incestuous love. Our ships already sank the moment XY made her requirements reducing her lifelong partner into a doormat. Our ships are just to proud to be stepped on. So no worries.....🤣😂🤭
Yes i thought he would be taking questions but seems like all pre written. And bad bad bad translation. I felt…
A majority the questions were from fans that WeTV collected from.fan comments. Most of those comments were from memebers in the IG global fans club that got picked.
XL doesn't care for Jing. He simply saved Jing for XY because it is what she wanted. XL is too proud, caustic, and shrewd. The drama has toned XL down and heightened his lovelorn nature.
In the drama, he's called Jing useless multiple times.
In the novel, he's laughed at Jing and chastised him when he said he needed his status. Whenever XY was with XL, he would purposely taunt Jing by not shielding his whereabouts and his conversations with XY. If these are actions of respect, then I guess I wouldn't know what respect is. (@_@。
nah who called her selfish that's crazy?! some ppl are so misogynic in here hating on fl because of their ship…
Calling out XY's flaws and seeing that she never truly overcomes them doesn't make one misogynistic. XY herself is a character rooted and shaped by misogyny and patriarchy. Her inability to become her own woman is proof of that. She never had a chance to live as a woman, so when she did become one, all she thought about was protecting CX and getting hitched. She loves her family but is unable to break free from it... why patriarchy? She wants to protect CX, so she entertains his supporters... misogyny and patriarchy!
She's always in survival mode, so her accomplishments are overshadowed by her trauma. She is brave in protecting her family but cowers at her own heart. She is smart, but she is also lazy. She wants a lifelong partner without putting in the effort but expects them to drop everything for her. When she finally has the courage to work for her love, she goes about it in a humiliating and degrading way. Some days I love her, and some days I want to smack some sense into her. Lol.
All this obsession with xl is funny. It wont end well for him. Fact is his selfish idea to keep the curse with…
Nowhere in the text does Tong Hua describe the practice of 孤 (Gu) as a negative thing. Did she paint it as mysterious? Yes. Was it unknown and unpredictable? Of course. But she explained it with a nuanced perspective that was neither good nor evil because 蛊 itself was meant to prolong loved ones' lives. It tied two people together in life and death. Lovers' Bugs are no different except they tie two lovers together. The Juili (Baili) Shaman King called it a curse only because of the ramifications if the hearts betray each other. Obviously, XY and XL aren't dead so it was never a curse. (¬‿¬)
I wanted to watch this after all the episodes finished airing, but then I read that the main female character…
I guess it depends on where you draw the line for selfishness. For me, XY is indeed very selfish and had a strong lack of self awareness. She makes decisions based on her trauma and throws the trauma card along the way. I don't like people who do this in real life, so I don't like it in XY as a protangantist. She also has very low self esteem and a strong savior complex.
Many audiences find her inability to overcome her trauma okay, and the little character development she has plausible. But for me, I was quite dissapointed. It is a fantasy after all, so I was expecting character development in a way that addresses her ownership of her trauma (AND no, telling everyone about doesn't mean she took ownership of it), low self esteem, and lack of self awareness.
But you should try to watch it and get your own opinion.

PS..... I'm happy they spent alot of money on XL's CGI....makes up for the downgrade on his loveline and all our missing scenes. 😆
