The second couple annoyed the sh*t out me and Xiao Mei's endless lies to her parents about what she actually does for a living made me uncomfortable but I won't downgrade my rating for these. Xiao Mei is still a joy to watch outside of her blatant lies.
So basically no happy ending for all the couples in this drama. Xiang Xin Yu and A Yin were forever separated by time. Abao and Mumu broke up for all the right reasons but still, I was brokenhearted. And man, Ma Zehao and Taotao are on a whole different level. One was depressed and suicidal, the other a psychopath. So yeah, after dragging myself into finishing this show, I felt nothing but dissatisfaction.
Zhang Han was my first Cdrama shen so I kinda have a very special adoration for him. But watching this drama, at first, the red flags did not matter too much. But as the story progresses, I was very much disturbed by the --- and I quote Avenue X "grotesquely agitating lines" unquote.
The way they refer to women in every sentence they use that word was insulting and demeaning. Although they very much say that it is not their intention to demean women, it was very much implied. And then, I just saw Zhang Han listed as a Scriptwriter. I had to drop this because as a human being, I could not continue to watch this mockery.
Rain, oh my Rain. The way you look at Payu makes me believe in love again. Whenever these two are on screen, my heart is beating for them and I literally feel tingles in my stomach. They're so sweet and so into each other. Don't even get me started about the hooooooooot scenes. I could write a 100-page essay on how this show managed to show such realistic saucy scenes. And my gosh the conversations while doing it made me lol while clapping. Rain is such a joy to watch I tell ya.
I like this drama. Better production quality than most web dramas. Hair and makeup are also good and complement the actors well. Even the wigs are nice. Also, the costumes are gorgeous and do not look cheap at all. Acting is also not forced or cringy and the actors are very good looking. Well, the plot is not original but at least I wasn't bored.
And here I thought no one looked better than Shu Xin with He Di...but seeing her with Bin Bin this time, oh, I'm not so sure anymore! Esther is just wayyyyy too cute!!!!
Seriously, BossNoeul was the best thing that happened to BL world recently. They fit so perfectly together...whether in terms of visuals, voice, and chemistry. Oh, don't even get me started on those steamy touches and kisses....Fire!!!!
I think I just stumbled into a treasure. This sure looks promising. I will just brace myself for the possibility of a bittersweet ending, after all, they're separated by time.
I'm not complaining that our adorable Dong Fang Qing Cang was revived but how? It ended so abruptly that I wasn't able to process his revival yet and the credits started rolling!!! Man, I feel that I deserve more of the reunion and the backstory on how he managed to return to Orchid's side.
The pilot episode was good and could have been a fantastic setup for a might have been a good story. Unfortunately, that was the only good part of this series. From ep 1, it was a tragic trainwreck that I wish I could unwatch. Such a waste. Really a shame.
Is it too much to ask for a season 2? I would like to see more about a possible family bonding between the siblings. Also, I would love to see the budding romance between Minwoo and Seoyoon.
I think it was tied up quite well. I am satisfied with the ending. CPZ was right about them having the same gene but totally different people. They have their own lives to live. I am also glad that CLXZ had her own happy ending, although I am not sure if she is indeed happy in the end. But she helped her didi's dream to become a celebrity, and that amounts to something. I would like to imagine that CPZ will continue his research life and hopefully find another love, even if it's not CLXZ.
