i guess we'll have to see what these last two episodes bring. I'm still upset about the writing of this drama but it will probably ease a bit of irritation if I see some growth from both of them. I would absolutely love to see her finding things outside of her partner that makes her happy.
I think people who criticize those who criticize the story and characters fail to see that we are only two episodes…
Exactly! Most of the criticism comes from the viewers that have a major problem with the writing and the lack of character development. Of course we're going to criticize a storyline that promotes unhealthy dynamics in a relationship. I'm both shocked and confused that everyone doesn't see it as it is. Or does, and doesn't really see anything wrong with it. And now we have two episodes left and we're just supposed to go with flow? Nah. And another thing to add to the list of bad character writing is that the writer didn't have Eunho have ANY platonic friends or hobbies. The write made the ML the center of Eunho's whole world. That's insane to me.
Why do you see their former relationship as toxic and abusive? He broke up with her for a stupid reason which…
imo, he never priotized her. he put his job before her and their relationship many times. he would leave her at the drop of a dime whenever anything with the grandmas occured. granted that's his family but, he never told her about them so in her perspective he just leaves her without explanation and then comes back with some sweet words and kisses like nothing happened. he never told her about his family because he didnt trust her with that information cause he was afraid that she would leave him. he didnt want her to leave him so he left her first. without the explanation of why he didnt want to get married. and even after he broke it off, he didn't leave her alone. he's a selfish man and he's emotionally unavailable. But i kind of see how people wouldn't see his behavior in the relationship as toxic/unhealthy because Eunho accepted it. it was never written that it bothered her that much outside of pouting when he left her for his many job calls. which bothered the hell out of me. lol

that's exactly the interview I read. And I'm glad you can understand where I was coming from. And i want you to know i get where you're coming from too. She is a great writer but if she would've promoted it differently the viewers would have perceived it the way it should have been and it definitely would've been a hit. But yeah. Two more episodes left! I'll probably just watch the highlights. lol
There is a difference between not being in a relationship and being alone. I'm pretty sure none of us thought…
You hit the nail right on the head. 👏🏾 The codependency from both of them is unappealing. She's dependent on him for her happiness while he's dependent on her dependency of him.

I understand your point about the cinematography and the director wanting to create a divide for the audience. And it was done beautifully. But, I don't have a problem with how the drama was made. I have a problem with the writing. The writer herself said that she wanted to portray a message about healing and finding happiness along with growth and resolution. She did not do a good job of relaying that. There was no believable healing of the characters and no believable growth,(as we spent most of the drama with flashbacks) and the happiness and resolution she chose for them is very questionable. So yeah, I expected something because that's what the writer said it would be. And in your comment- if you don't except the characters to be healed at the end of it all, that means it's bad writing because that exactly what the writer wanted you to witness. And romanticizing something means to describe or portray something as being better than it really is. Ep. 10 is literally her doing that. After all that we have seen through the perspective of Euhno with her relationship with the ML and having her find the happiness that she's been looking for in the same man that caused her pain coupled with sweet words and music at the end and being cute in the office(next episode)? That's pretty much romanticizing. Cause we all know that their relationship was trash. And probably still will be trash cause like I said, there has been no growth. The unhealthy and codependent love they have for each other is shit wrapped up in a bow at the end. But, there are two episodes left so maybe we'll see something happen within those. I think the only thing the writer did correct is her deep dive into pain and exposing the wounds of the characters. She's a very good melodramatic writer. But, looking at what she wanted to portray as a whole? She didn't do well imo. I'm glad you got a good drama out of it.
I think if people stop trying to self-insert, they'll realize this is a quite good drama about some incredibly…
i think it was how the drama was presented to us before it aired that upsets us. It was described as a "happy replay romance." and that's not what we got. People expected something and got the opposite. It's bad writing imo, if you label your work as "this" but the story doesn't reflect it. the "happy" should've been taken out and replaced with something that describes what the hell is actually going on. But, that wouldn't have been appealing. lol Also, theres absolutely nothing wrong with showing the reality of unhealthy relationships but it shouldnt be romanticized like this. Oh! and we also expected healing and none of that happened either. so...yeah.
dang is this show really that bad? I’m on ep 1.. lol sheesh maybe I shouldn’t watch it
It depends on how you deal with unhealthy relationships, a FL that lacks self confidence and respect, and a selfish ML that suffers from emotional damage from childhood, never heals from it and lets that dictate how he operates in relationships.
And not really related to drama quality.Mostly resentment of not getting what they want!Dramas are like hamburgers…
The quality of the drama is great. Director is fantastic. The actors are doing an amazing job with what they got. The music production is great too. But it's the writing and direction that essentially makes the drama worth watching and this is just not up to par for many. 🤷♀️
I've read some comments about how we shouldn't be upset by the way things turned out because it's been labeled that way from jump. While I am upset they got back together it's more so HOW the writer chose to put them back together that irritates me. Both the FL and ML haven't had any character development within the 4 years they've been separated. She got sick and he stayed self centered. The writer should have had the FL keep the same energy of when she closed the door in her exes face and started her healing then. Her healing should have been about self love and his healing should have been him dealing with his emotional damage from childhood. But nope. She's still super dependent on him after 12 freaking years and he's still selfish after 12 freaking years. He's still dependent on her dependency of him. They both need to work on their self worth. What message does it send that a woman can only find love through another person and not herself? And that a man can only feel good about themselves only when they feel needed and not wanted. Cause you know there's a difference. So yeah, there's going to be people pretty upset about that. And I'm all for true love but a relationship doesn't survive off of love it survives off of mutual respect. Respect for ones self and respect for their partner.
Too late to drop with just 2 episodes left, but I want it to be over already. Guess I'm just not seeing why he's…
I think it's because he's the only constant she's ever had since her sisters disappearance. It doesn't matter how he treated her as long as he was there. She has no family. She has no friends. All she had was him. Which is pretty crazy that the writer is romanticizing such a toxic attachment.
I don't know why Shin Hae Sun chose this drama. She's usually so good with picking scripts. Also, do you guys think there is a possibility for a plot twist? I don't know what it look like but I just can't get my head around what's happening.
period. like i am so upset they talked about serious issue to make fun out of it .... she didnt even healed properly…
I'm saying! The writers message is crazy. I sometimes had to pause and ask myself "is this shit really happening right now?" I'll only be catching the highlights of the last two episodes cause I want to see how it ends at least. 😮💨
This is not a happy replay romance. This drama has been about obsession and romanticizing unhealthy dynamics in relationships. You have a woman that lacks self respect and doesn't want to let go of the man that hurt her and then you have a selfish man who knows he hurt her but won't let go of her completely because he doesn't want anybody else to be with her. And she's supposedly healed now that she's with her ex again? The person that hurt you doesn't have the power to heal you. This show is utterly disturbing. Now the show has two episodes left and it's going be of them? No thank you. The drama could have ended here. What else is there to address? Him introducing her to his family that he's kept from her for 12 years? And we're supposed to say aww to that? What lesson was this show supposed to have? She should just be by herself. I've never been this upset about a drama in my life. It feels like I'm going crazy. 🤣
And another thing to add to the list of bad character writing is that the writer didn't have Eunho have ANY platonic friends or hobbies. The write made the ML the center of Eunho's whole world. That's insane to me.
