Nah, she didn't reveal anything RE: Xiao Wu's real form. It's more like the message she left for him was pre-recorded in a sense so there's zero interactions between her and Tang San. She was expecting only Tang San alone (and says that even his father cannot enter because only he can with his Blue Silver Grass) so technically, the flower that Xiao Wu was given was meant for Tang San and not her. But yes, the flower restored all of Xiao Wu's rings and maxed up her power level (so she can theoretically go for her fourth ring as well, just like the rest of the group). It's not explained why Xiao Wu faints, I assume it's simply bc the message was triggered to be heard when it's in the presence of the Blue Silver Grass and she doesn't have that but that's my guess only.

I haven't started this yet. The poster is telling me this will have romance but the comments are telling me no?…
There's romance but the focus isn't on the romance but the journey of the MC (and his fellow teammates). There's obvious pairings between the side characters as well that are heavily hinted at but (so far) there isn't anything overwhelmingly romantic. If you're wanting to watch a drama with heavy romantic overtures, this isn't that type of drama but there's subtle romance throughout and again, the pairings are set from the start.

Just finished watching episodes 28 released today. Finally TS met his mom(not physical form) and conversed with…
To be extremely brief (cos some of the terms are difficult to translate as well), the biggest thing is thatTang San's mother revealed that her death (on the same day he was born) was caused by the folks @ the Spirit Hall and that one of the reasons was because of her "real" identity (which she doesn't reveal and says his father will tell him in the future). Another reason is apparently because she says they (her and his father) discovered a way to gain spirit rings without having to kill spirit beasts (something that would render Spirit Hall useless so they had her killed for that reason). She also says she prevented Tang San's father from telling him the truth bc her only wish is for him to have a safe and happy life, and that if Tang San never had his spirit powers awakened, she would be just as glad bc then it would mean he would never have to be involved in the same world that his parents were involved in. The whole garden was created by her with the last of her powers (and filled with many immortal herbs) and it's her parting gift to him. She also gifts him with a very rare top tier immortal herb (the one that Xiao Wu takes).

Oops, editing to add that she also tells him she doesn't want him to take revenge for her death and that his father is filled with revenge (which is a main reason as to why Tang San now really believes his dad is behind the whole manipulation of spirits/souls business).

I feel the same way. We're probably going to have to wait 2/3 years at least for the sequel, since they haven't…
It's always the CGI that takes a while, which I'm glad for since for a show like this, it does require the extra time and effort given to special effects. The drama ended filming in 2019 and XZ didn't dub until 2020? So that's at least a year of post-production. We're def looking at 2+ years unless for some miraculous reason it was pre-filmed and no one knew lol. If they film too late and XZ ages out (cos he's kind of old for the MC) then T___T

Are there any official news of a second season?
Tencent announced it during one of their press cons for upcoming releases that all networks/studios do a while back but no details were given.

Lol, that's what I thought too when they showed the trunk! But keep watching, Oscar's costume props aren't it…
They haven't reached the point of his entry but I'm going to wager guess that that's at the end since it seems a good cut-off point for S1. I don't think they'll mess that part up though!!

They've just released the MV for Tang San's character song and there's LOTS of fight sequences that I'm sure book fans will recognize and frankly, I'm super excited for them. It's also quite obvious that Tang San will be discovering the truth about his mother soon and that he gains his fourth soul ring & grows even more powerful.

It's actually such a pity that S1 and S2 weren't filmed at the same time so they could be aired consecutively because IMO, S1 will end at a point when things are at a climax and all the (sometimes slow) work the drama has done in building things up in the first 20+ episodes of S1 will only come to fruition in S2/S3. Basically S1 is setting up S2 and I wish S2 wasn't 246373 years away....

Just finished ep27, and something doesn't quite make sense. Why on earth does the the group keep letting Hu Le…
Yeah, HLN is a huge wtf for me in this drama since she didn't play a big part in the first half of the drama. However, since you've watched ep27 already, there's something really, really important about HLN that they just released. She is also backed by the Marital Spirit Hall which is basically THE big organization in Douluo Continent so it's best not to offend them. They don't really care about her because she's not part of the team nor is she weak. She's constantly being protected and the Headmaster is aware of this fact so they leave her alone. Basically, she's not their responsibility.

Well that rules out ending at the halfway point, if it's anything similar to the novel. If they do fans will be…
I heard same cast as well but they said same MAIN cast, so I wonder if XZ will return since YBY has a much bigger role in the S2. I loved JoL as well, it was one of my favorite adaptations to date. They changed a lot from the book but it was done in a really organized way. I only read half of Under the Power, heard they also changed quite a bit for the drama, but the cast has such good chemistry!! Story of Minglan was such a surprise for me too! Really enjoyed that drama. There hasn't been much in 2020 that I really, really liked.

I think there are flaws in Doulou that there weren't in JoL, so it's not as good or tight of a story. Pacing here is also a problem :(

Actually, I haven't even started the novels themselves! I was admittedly intimidated by the number of chapters, lol. So I thought the easiest way to consume would be donghua. But I'm impatient and the manhua does move at a faster pace, but I like the donghua better.

IKR..it took Grandmaster like two seconds to recognize Dugu at Heaven Dou in the donghua lol. Once you're a Titled…
I mean, he is THE POISON Douluo right? He's probably the easiest to recognize too. One could argue that the audience wouldn't know but that's the point of the Masters, they're there to tell us what we don't know and fill us in. Guess I'm glad they didn't cut his parts out entirely & they've highlighted Tang San's strength against poisons at least.

Liu Er Long is a hoot, she's 100% perfect lmaooo

/raises hand
I went from watching Douluo because of XZ to watching the donghua and now I'm simultaneously also reading the manhua as I watch hahahaha. It's a good thing though! Any chance to gain new fans is always a good thing.

(Lol, literally me as well bc I went from, ahh I understand there are changes here pls try to understand to going "....oh, i see" But I do still think the drama is interesting in its own way, and with this "hidden plot" business, I'll watch to the end. From what I can tell by ep20, they're at least starting to stick closer to the actual storyline and aren't changing as much in terms of the characters/importance they play to the plot.

I don't think it's confirmed to have started filming, there's been zero news of it nor have any of the cast been seen filming. There's been rumors it would start late 2020/early 2021 but Zhang Ruo Yun was actually filming Sword Snow Stride during that time period so unfortunately, they haven't even started yet....even more waiting ahead of us ahhhhh

Sign me up for more scenes/episodes with Dugu Bo x Tang San. I love their little bickering and how Tang San is around him, and vice versa.

It does kind of bother me how unknowledgeable the Headmaster and Master are especially when it comes to recognizing Titled Douluo like Dugu Bo. I guess they're trying to maintain a level of suspense but that's like saying a person who plays basketball doesn't know who Lebron James is...

Right?? That was my guess for where they'd end it too cos it's got the perfect built in fade away to black training time. Although, he didn't say that he was going to end on a plot twist, just that there's a hidden plot line that he's written in and it's been present since the start of the drama and that it won't be revealed until the very finale.

I honestly don't think I'll re-watch just to catch it so hopefully some eagle-eyed fans discover it, lol. It does look like there'll be at least a 2 year wait though. JoL aired end of 2019/2020 and they still haven't started filming for S2 now (of course, the pandemic did happen). And there's been zero word on them casting and I don't think he's confirmed if he's got the script done for S2 yet or if it's in the works (he only confirmed about writing S2 JoL in late 2020...)

I'd say it's going alright. There was a bit of action but they've sort of settled down again and are mostly setting up once more. They're in the "new shrek academy" stages and we've still yet to really get into Dugu Bo but I can kind of tell that things are FINALLY coming together in terms of the story, it's just a pity that it took this long bc we're past the halfway mark and only have 15 episodes left. At this pace...I'm not sure if they'll cram it in the latter episodes or what...
