Chang He played a very nice game, can't lie. He played on the weaknesses of the women. I'm so happy what HT used…
He absolutely gaslight the crap out of all the women. The second he approached Ji Xing about the series A financing, I could see him laying out the tracks for what he wanted to happen later on.
100% agree to this!! on where the both parties personally stand, they’re both correct and rational. for ji xing,…
Please, I am 100000% percent looking forward to the kidnapping scene + subsequent hospital recovery scenes hahahahaha. I've seen the leaks on social media so I'm like, mmmhmmm yes.
Exactly! I think we often forget that the characters don't get to see and know everything that we do. Like you said, it's easier if viewers don't take sides but that's near impossible, especially when I feel like female audiences will more than likely take the side of the handsome CEO ML vs the more naive FL. I just hope viewers will remain rational as well!
As with all dramas, if only the leads could be locked into a room to talk things out xD But then we wouldn't have a drama to watch ahahahaha
I'm still of the opinion that they're both at fault in this situation. We, as the audience, have the perspective/hindsight that the ML/FL do not currently have and it's all too easy to blame either party.
We know that Han Ting had other plans etc to keep Xing Chen but Ji Xing does not know this. All she knows is that Han Ting is a man capable of being very cruel at times when it comes to business dealings and that he has hidden a lot of very important details from her. Like she said earlier on, she felt as if this entire journey has been him leading her blindfolded, as if she was doing everything according to his plans. Ji Xing should not have betrayed Han Ting by going to Cheng He, period.
Reminder that his is a drama, it will be dramatic, lol.
Yes! I can’t wait for the true power couple to make their appearance!
I was thinking about this scene too, hahahaha! She can properly hold her own and TBH, she just needed to be confident in her abilities. She made a split-second decision AND managed to solve all the issues that arose while Han Hai President was away. Queen behavior from Ji Xing and completely without interference from Han Ting 😎.
I agree! I think the drama has done a great job thus far with the adaptation. The break up is needed and will…
I'm really happy with the changes drama made too! They definitely improved on Li Li and Tu Xiao Meng's characters. I'm glad they can provide actual mental/emotional support for Ji Xing as they were sort of lacking in the book at times, lol. I hope the breakup isn't more than 2-3 episodes though, I want them to show the glow up properly and not rush things!
Agree. I don't read the novel, but I believe the breakup will eventually help them understand each other and themselves…
Yes! I read the novel ages ago, when the drama was first announced so I'm a bit fuzzy on some of the details too xD. They both have issues they need to sort through so that when they come back together, they're stronger and can withstand the storms!
As in most modern dramas like these, it's really easy to always take the side of the handsome ML vs the FL. Unfortunately, the FLs are almost always written as illogical or "too emotional". I'm not a huge fan of Ji Xing's character whether it's in the novel or in the drama, but I think it's important to remember that she's a newcomer to the business industry whereas Han Ting has many more years of experience. Yes, Han Ting has helped her immensely but let's not forget the issues/problems that arose bc of Zeng Di/Han Yuan/Chang He wanting to attack Xing Chen to attack Han Ting.
IMO, they're both at fault in this issue and the breakup is necessary for them to learn from their mistakes before getting back together. Han Ting has always hidden the more ruthless side of himself from Ji Xing and coupled with the Han Hai issue, it has obviously caused mistrust and the feeling of betrayal for Ji Xing which is why she is so easily swayed by the others.
I won't spoil novel endings but Ji Xing grows immensely in terms of how she handles business issues towards the latter half of the novel and I hope that growth is kept in the drama too.
One thing that i always hated in chinese dramas is when they make grown ass adults behaving like children when…
In this case specifically, they're a bunch of men that have literally been spending what is arguably the best years of their life on a base in the cold, outermost region of China. Like the Commander said, the men hardly ever have time to date. Lu Chen didn't even have regular time to call Gui Xiao when they were dating so one can only imagine how hard it'd be for them to even find a girl to date. Lu Chen is also a very strict Captain, he's much softer and sweeter with Gui Xiao, which is novel to his men and they're kind of gawking at it because they're astonished that their former Captain is capable of being lovey-dovey as well, lol.
The whole running with Gui Xiao on his back thing is actually the guys giving their former Captain a proper farewell as he left on rather depressing circumstances last time (with the passing of his own Captain). This time, it's really goodbye because Lu Chen will have officially transferred to his other base and he likely won't be coming back anymore. It's an army thing. Add on to that the fact that none of them will be able to accompany Lu Chen on his wedding night where it's traditional in Chinese customs for the groomsmen to fool around with the new bride/groom.
This drama is really good but I don't understand why the rating is so low
Like others said, it could be a mix of some not liking the slower pace of the drama and also because the drama itself hasn't finished airing. I personally do not leave a rating until after I've finished a drama. Also, some have different views on what is considered a low/high rating as I myself would consider 8 a rating on the higher end. MDL operates differently though, lol.
I'm still kind of stunned that they managed to get their license to air but iirc, when they were filming there were already reports that it was only "loosely" based on Modu so not a true adaptation. As a fan of Modu, I'm pretty satisfied so far. I know there's been some changes but definitely give this a watch as the changes don't actually affect the overall story too much (as of yet). Plus, ZXC is NAILING it.
It's a HE! ML and FL end up together if that's what you're asking about!
It’s a slow-burn romance, the main CP doesn’t get together until the very end of the drama. I think they removed the romance tag bc it doesn’t focus too much on their relationship and more on their jobs etc.
Zhang Ruo Yun lost so much weight. 😱😱 I most defo preferred him prior. He’s so tiny now, Asian definitions…
He lost weight primarily while filming for Ordinary Greatness! His character there was in his early 20s and he lost a TON of weight on purpose in order to appear younger (Wang Kai did this as well for Like A Flowing River). He’s since gained back a bit more weight but not to the extent of where he was during JoL.

SGD, you are going to the 18th lvl of hell for this!!
