The amount of internal screaming I did when I first read about it airing soon on weibo!!! Quality production and quality acting, 2023 has been really good so far.
Both the author and scriptwriter have stated on weibo that any rumors of cast changes are fake.
They've sort of hinted vaguely at a sequel by saying "we'll meet again in the future!" but nothing confirmed or officially announced! Afraid we'll still have to wait for that...
I’ve had doubts about a few of TSY’s projects before but she’s never really disappointed me and has always managed to surprise me. I’m hoping it’s the same in this case as well and wishing the cast & crew a safe filming journey.
Whatever happens, this is one drama out of many dramas that TSY has and will film so at the end of the day, I’ll enjoy the eye candy that is Xu Kai in a suit and hope for good chemistry and a good script!
The humorous undertone was unexpected but certainly welcome! I've really missed JingBao's acting esp in costume dramas and am glad he's gracing my screen again.

I'm still slowly watching the rest of the VVIP episodes, but they do include part of the tower scene later on but not exactly as it's written in the book.
I am waiting for subtitled version to rant but they robbed me of zombi night, I am so, so disappointed. Still…
I expected they wouldn't have zombie night. China doesn't allow for things like "zombies" or undead medicine men, lol. It wouldn't have passed regulation/censorship otherwise, sigh.

Well, logically they only have 5 episodes left and they need to wrap it all up. I knew they wouldn’t include the tower for Xiao Se to level up as that would take another half an episode at least. I don’t think leaving out the tower ruins it all but that’s my opinion! 40 episodes is hard esp with the last arc of the book have so many fights and such a low budget!
I commented elsewhere a couple of days ago asking for Youku to VIP the episodes and am so glad they did just for the sake of pacing xD You cannot possibly split up the fights in the last few episodes! They've changed a few details from the novel but overall, I'm pretty satisfied with how things turned out! Still wish that they had a bigger budget though to properly do the fight scenes justice!!!
Is Tang Lian really dead ,even though I am on ep 33 i think he is still alive
So far the drama has been following the novel pretty accurately and if that continues, then Tang Lian is actually not dead. He'll show up at the very, very end and he's just been recuperating from very nearly dying.
they cut some good fights already and it looks like they will cut another one based on how this 11th prince died
I'm so annoyed, argh. They're really just cutting ALL of the epic fight scenes. There's absolutely no way they can skip Wushuang's fight at the end can they? They have to include the Su Changhe one since they mentioned it briefly and they have to include Xiao Se's but I'm expecting it to be shortened to a 3 minute fight.....
Do Xiao Se and Qianluo really have something in the book and end up together, or is their "relationship" something…
So far, the drama has been a very close adaptation to the novel. All the couples portrayed in the drama also exist in the novel. So yes, Qianluo and Xiao Se are an actual couple in the book as well! (The book itself is not BL.)
As someone who read the book....really let down by the (lack) of budget for this series, cry. They had to cut so. many fight/battle scenes. This whole Langya Army vs TianQi sequence is absolutely epic in the book but it's been watered down so much here. So many sighs...
In terms of strength, there's no way Xiao Se will reach the same realm as Mo Yi. Even Baili Dongjun who is in the same realm as Mo Yi is not Mo Yi's match as Mo Yi has already been the top for many years.
At the end, Xiao Se ends up being close to the top realm but has not entered that realm yet.
I'm really not happy that 2nd Prince is going to be cured by Miracle Healer. He did a lot 9f bad things to XS…
Xiao Chong, the second prince, actually has a much closer relationship to Xiao Se than his younger brother. Yes, he's plotted against Xiao Se but he was never out to kill Xiao Se. Even when he tried to stop Xiao Se from returning to TianQi, he specifically told Wushuang City and his shifu to not kill Xiao Se but to capture him alive. Also, the one that blamed Xiao Se for Xiao Chong's blindness was Xiao Chong's bodyguard/advisor. Xiao Chong actually also hinted that he knew Xiao Se wasn't responsible for it as they were both kids and too young to scheme against one another.
Xiao Se, no matter his ambitions, will always value family and his brotherhood to a certain extent.
I read it and dropped it after the first chapter. I jz could not see the drama GNT in the novel. I felt like it…
I’m about halfway through and yeah, it’s a completely different story than the drama series. Kind of a bummer. I prefer the drama versions of both the ML and FL too but I do find some similarities between them. It’s not a bad novel but it’s not great either 🤣
