Chen Zhe Yuan was actually pretty smart during his previous appearance on Keep Running, especially in that episode where he and Yu Qi were on the same team. I wonder if he would have performed differently if the two of them had been on the same side here as well… perhaps he could have reached his full potential.

Like you said, I think it would have been more interesting if both teams were equally strong and smart. That would have made the episode even more exciting to watch!

Nevertheless, the chemistry between the undercovers was insane and still made this episode a really enjoyable watch. I hope the keep running team would continue to group them together in future!

the good people lacked a leader, if Song Yu Qi was present this episode, the outcome might have been different.

this episode was exciting to watch, the under covers had very strong chemistry and worked excellently as a team. Fan Cheng Cheng was so smart when finding the passcode, i was pretty surprised (i’m used to seeing him as the joker). Bai Lu was really smart as well, telling Fan Cheng Cheng to run so she could buy time for Li Yun Rui to complete the mission, since the good people became focused on chasing Fan Cheng Cheng afterwards. (both Bai Lu and Fan Cheng Cheng were already being suspected.)

and Bai Lu only allowing Zhang Zhen Yuan to rip her nametag really made the good people hesitate, because they were worried there might be consequences. Li Yun Rui was also incredibly fast, such a good and athletic runner. he had the brains too, because he managed to find the passcode and suggested going straight to the costume room instead of passing through an additional stage first.

Li Yun Rui also shared in his vlog that the last portion took forty minutes, he spent forty minutes finding the passcode. so kudos to Bai Lu and Fan Cheng Cheng for buying him time. this episode was very enjoyable because the under covers worked well together and no one was dragging the team down.

i feel like the way they wrote it was very weird. like what do you mean in a life-or-death situation, SML trusts the FL and her judgement. but when the FL attempts to tell the SML on her sightings of the villain, he wouldn’t even listen to her explanation at all. it would have made more sense the other way round to me.

and i never liked ML from the start lol, he was fooling around all the time, and what he did to the FL felt like borderline bullying. also, i don’t think I’ll ever forget the part where he questioned FL’s judgement during the bomb disposal scene.. and made her very doubtful of her own choice lol.

honestly, I think FL shouldn’t have ended up with either of them, I’m not satisfied with the choices ML and SML made lol

it seemed like only international audiences watching on YouTube were affected lol! i haven’t seen anybody mentioning the editing problem on Chinese social media, but yikes that was a careless mistake to make

that’s a valid point, the target audiences are very different for those brands. but years ago, Rio (an alcoholic brand) also sponsored the show when Anmuxi was sponsoring. i am wondering if it’s because back then, Anmuxi was less known, so whatever exposure they could get, they would utilise it. but these days, Anmuxi has well-known ambassadors, and don’t need to rely as much on Keep Running for exposure. (Bai Lu, Dilireba, Dylan Wang etc.)

rumour is that it will air from 5.5-5.10, because the next CCTV drama is rumoured to takeover from may 11th (either yang zi/ liu hao cun’s). so maybe 1 ep x 4 days, then 2 eps for 2 days?

the editing of episode 2 (youtube) was so weird, they repeated like 20ish minutes of an earlier part towards the end… but ignoring that, this episode was funny to watch!

deng kai isn’t very known in c-ent, (prior to PoJ, his name was foreign to many) kong xue er is definitely better known, considering her appearance in the survival show before she began acting… besides, keep running isn’t a show known for inviting drama couples. drama couples appear on hi 6, not here. (invitation of bai lu’s male leads are an exception though, because she’s the emcee of the show..)

rumours were that wang lao ji offered a lotttttt this season, so they chose the brand that offered more to the show..

cast of the show is finally out! we have thai actress chutimon chuengcharoensukying (aokbab)playing yao ke xun, and chen hao sen as bai shang huan. supporting roles include tsao yu ning as he bing xun and singaporean actor cai cheng jun as a lin.

i have so much to say about this!!! as an OG novel fan…

i first read the book back in 2019, the same year it was released, and it quickly became my favourite chinese novel because of its fantastical elements. ever since then, i have found myself borrowing it repeatedly from the library just to experience the story again. even though i already know the plot by heart, it never gets less interesting no matter how many times i reread it.

now that the cast has been announced, i have to admit i feel quite disappointed. the actors do not seem to match their original descriptions in the book, (appearance wise) especially in terms of age. since the story was originally a high school romance, it seems like the casting may have led to a change in setting to a university instead, (because the actors are 30…) which likely means certain plot elements had to be altered as well.

will this significantly affect the story? (the synopsis already differs..) i guess we will find out next year. i just hope they remain as faithful to the original plot as possible. the novel itself was relatively short, so i am curious how it will be expanded into a full tv series. personally, it feels like it might have been better suited for a movie, but i am still willing to wait and see how it turns out.

one concern i have is the casting of the female lead. since the actress is thai, i was a bit worried after hearing in interviews that she has only been learning chinese for 1–2 years, especially since the director mentioned there will be no dubbing. i really hope her performance comes across naturally without any distracting accent.

the only aspect i am relatively satisfied with is the casting of tsao yu ning. if i remember correctly, he used to be a professional baseball player, so at least we have an athlete playing an athlete (even if the character is a basketball player this time).

overall, i just hope the adaptation does the book justice and allows more people to fall in love with this story 💗🤞 waiting for the show to arrive in 2027

this drama really boosts my seratonin, what a masterpiece comfort drama. i loved watching the friendship, kinship and relationship. i don’t think any high school drama can ever beat this… kudos to Mao de shu for his effort in this production, the intro, outro and DV scenes were all filmed so well, so naturally. not to mention the douyin and Weibo character accounts they set up while the show was airing, seeing the posts made me think these characters existed.

this show had a very interesting plot, with phenomenal acting from liu hao cun. the first half of the show felt a bit too long, with too many scenes focussed on the hair salon portion, so that made me drop the show for a couple of months. but I came back to complete the show, and despite being confused, the sci-fi of the second half was more captivating!
