at that point, quzhou, another city in zhejiang, was the rumoured location. the switch to hangzhou seems to be a much more recent development. if anything, the change from quzhou to hangzhou could have been influenced by the controversies, since quzhou is definitely much less well known.
and yes, i am from singapore, so i was genuinely excited when the rumours suggested they would be filming here. it is so difficult to get the chance to see them in person.

ya and that was pretty sad for me because I was shipping FL and SML, to me, the romance development went downhill from there.the teasing felt a bit out of character to me but i guess the screenwriter had their own plans ..
episode 8 was absolutely hilarious. it has been a long time since a variety show made me laugh this much.
the entrance costumes were beautiful, and bai lu looked stunning. i need to see her in this style more often in the future!
the games in this episode were bizarre in the best way possible: creative, unique, and incredibly entertaining. a few highlights for me:
1. zhou keyu was somehow amazing at the running game. i was genuinely impressed by how long he lasted compared to everyone else.
2. the idiom guessing game was my favourite segment. as a native chinese speaker, it was especially funny to watch. there were so many jokes and hilariously abstract prompts.
3. i have to say that both zhang zhenyuan and zhou keyu were excellent guessers. bai lu did a great job too, but sadly it was not enough for a comeback.
4. li yunrui has been a fantastic addition to the show. i have mentioned it before and i will mention it again: i love how athletic he is because he really shines in games that require it.
5. cheng lei is such a smart player. he always seems to make the right decisions. i was secretly hoping he and bai lu would be on the same team since they are both there for *mo li*, but he did great in this episode and the previous one too.

episode 15 was absolutely insane. the trailer alone had me screaming, especially that scene where her lover’s voice brings her back. i love this trope so much in books and dramas, watching someone spiral into madness, only for their lover to be the one who reaches them and pulls them back. the acting there was phenomenal, easily my favourite scene in this show. (love it as much as the moonlight mystique scene where everyone was falling and ML was holding on tightly to FL)

just started watching this show and it has been really enjoyable! the cat-and-mouse segment was fun to watch, but damn, it is such a physically demanding show. i was getting tired just watching them. running around a venue that big must have been exhausting, and those e-scooters popping out of nowhere looked pretty dangerous too. 😭
but wow the production team selected the perfect emcees, they surprisingly have great chemistry and are really funny to watch!
woah episode 3 was crazy, what do you mean Han Dong Jun jumped into the lake? WOWWWWW. and I could tell they ran a lot but revelation of the figures was still surprising to me. Song Mu Zi ran the least and he ran 4km, the entire gaming portion was 90 minutes long… how many calories did the emcees burn with all this running 😭 no wonder the emcees were complaining about feeling tired and breathless.. although they only had a couple of minutes of screen time individually, ( because there were 12 guests in an episode…) they did way more running than what we got to see on screen
episode 6, yet another good watch! this season has been very enjoyable so far, and it has genuinely made me find the motivation to watch variety shows again.
let's talk about what stood out to me!
during the guest entrance, i was like, "huh, zhai zi lu again?" but he is besties with my girl bai lu, so i am definitely not complaining! also, bai lu looked so cute with the curls.
the second game was fun to watch because some of the clues were so abstract (i am looking at you, fan cheng cheng), while others were somehow incredibly good at guessing them. sha yi especially, because wow... how do you even understand all that abstraction?
the third game made me go, "woahhh, tang jiu zhou, what?!" he is known for being smart, but the speed at which he figured out the pattern genuinely shocked me. i was sitting there stunned and still failed to understand his explanation. 😭 the actions version was definitely more entertaining to watch than the numbers version though.
when li chen mentioned lin yu fen as the director, i immediately thought, "oh! is it because she directed bai lu's upcoming drama the first jasmine (mo li)? is that the connection?" because honestly, i was expecting answers like yao pd or some famous movie directors instead.
the name-tag segment was great too! when they first showed the venue, my first thought was how gorgeous it looked. and can we talk about zhai zi lu for a second? he low-key looked pretty hot holding the gopro while hiding in the cupboard. bai lu and fan cheng cheng too. wow. the close-up camera shots were doing everyone a lot of favors this episode.
the hiding strategies were genuinely impressive, especially considering the build of some of the male celebrities. squeezing into cupboards, hiding under tables, and even inside a kart... i was impressed. zheng kai was amazing, especially with those two speakers attached to him. honestly, if li yun rui had not accidentally stumbled across his hiding spot, i wonder if anyone would have found him at all (too bad chen li nong did not spot him).
but wow, zheng kai was stubborn in the best way possible. he seemed like the only one who was determined to fight until the very end despite already being found, and he refused to let anyone rip off his name tag. i was shocked when the opponents started removing drawers and pushing the cart around, and zheng kai still did not budge. 😭 he absolutely deserved the win with how hard he worked in this segment alone.
and bai lu and zhai zi lu? what was that chemistry? finding each other by chance and somehow knowing where the other person was hiding? i guess that is what happens when you have a friendship that is 8 years and counting.
looking forward to next week's episode! excited to see bai lu and cheng lei promoting the first jasmine (mo li), which premieres on june 9 on tencent video, wetv, and disney+. i imagine peng yu chang will be a very funny addition as well. his clips already got me laughing... he feels like the male equivalent of bai lu, with that magical laughter! and although i do not know liu yu xin very well, she seems pretty willing to let loose and have fun too, so i am looking forward to seeing her.
can we also talk about how gorgeous their costumes are? i saw snippets of them while they were filming and was already impressed, but seeing them properly in the trailer? absolutely gorgeous.

Love Like The Galaxy class reunion scene? Love Like The Galaxy was a historical drama starring Zhao Lu Si and Wu Lei though, and she was not in that show. But she did act in You Are My Glory with Dilraba and Yang Yang, so I am wondering if that was the show you were referring to instead? episode 5 was a good watch! Zhou Yi Ran is looking so good over here, and i am patiently waiting for his mv with Bai Lu to be released soon!
my favourite game would have to be the supermarket game. it was so entertaining watching them run around trying to find props, while the undercovers kept making up explanations for their answers 😭 they were honestly very creative with the props they chose, especially when describing Zheng Kai. i was especially surprised to see Mao Xiao Tong choosing the zootopia-themed toy, and i was like “huh where is the link”, but then realised zheng kai’s nickname on the show is “little leopard”. that was really quick thinking.
the nametag portion was a bit confusing to watch, but Sha Yi was honestly a surprise. everyone was so focused on the nametag battles that when he was suddenly announced as the winner, it really caught me off guard 😭 that was actually really smart.
and of course, my baby Bai Lu was smart and gorgeous this episode too ❤
on a side note, i am really enjoying keep running lately, and i also think Li Yun Rui is a great addition to the show, being both athletic and smart. :)
episode 4 was really good! Bai Lu was so gorgeous with the flowers in her hair, and her pairing with Li Yun Rui was new and enjoyable to me. (loved them as undercovers previously) in fact, all the female guests and emcees looked incredible in this episode, the flower pinning suited everyone so well. the games were pretty decent too! i was impressed by Fan Cheng Cheng and Shen Yu Jie in the second game, they surprisingly worked so well together 😭 and Yu Jie was SO fast, i was shocked.
the singing segment was funny too. i’m not a speaker of the language, but i’m somewhat familiar with it because there are many speakers around me. most of them sang so off that it genuinely sounded like a whole new language 😭 that made it even more entertaining. Bai Lu honestly sounded like the one with the best pronunciation.
the last game was hilarious too, Zheng Kai and Fan Cheng Cheng messing with everyone made me laugh so much. and i’m happy seeing Zheng Kai and Miao Miao still so in love 🥹
the last couple of minutes actually gave me goosebumps. when the curtain was unveiled and there were rows of women standing there… seeing the cultural heritage and traditions being passed down from generation to generation was truly touching.(the name tags were mind blowingly gorgeous. and the deer antler for Bai Lu was a perfect touch!)
looking forward to the next few episodes! this season has been really enjoyable so far. and please leave my girl Bai Lu alone 😭 i want to continue seeing her as a happy sunshine. i hope she doesn’t get affected by all these remarks because it’ll be annoying if everyone starts acting overly careful out of fear of toxic netizens. it’s a variety show meant for entertainment, i want to see people joking around and genuinely enjoying themselves, not worrying that every tiny detail or remark will get blown out of proportion.
this show had potential but what happened? the female lead zhao yao was really charming, and I enjoyed bai lu’s portrayal of her. my problem with this show was that VILLAINS HAD TOO MANY SCENES, and there were so many supporting characters. i could barely recognise the gang because there were so many names and faces. the show being called zhao yao made me think the whole story revolved around the female lead but I guess not. honestly the second half made me so bored, and the plot was so messy it was really confusing. it could have been so much better.

Chen Zhe Yuan was actually pretty smart during his previous appearance on Keep Running, especially in that episode where he and Yu Qi were on the same team. this episode was exciting to watch, the under covers had very strong chemistry and worked excellently as a team. Fan Cheng Cheng was so smart when finding the passcode, i was pretty surprised (i’m used to seeing him as the joker). Bai Lu was really smart as well, telling Fan Cheng Cheng to run so she could buy time for Li Yun Rui to complete the mission, since the good people became focused on chasing Fan Cheng Cheng afterwards. (both Bai Lu and Fan Cheng Cheng were already being suspected.)
and Bai Lu only allowing Zhang Zhen Yuan to rip her nametag really made the good people hesitate, because they were worried there might be consequences. Li Yun Rui was also incredibly fast, such a good and athletic runner. he had the brains too, because he managed to find the passcode and suggested going straight to the costume room instead of passing through an additional stage first.
Li Yun Rui also shared in his vlog that the last portion took forty minutes, he spent forty minutes finding the passcode. so kudos to Bai Lu and Fan Cheng Cheng for buying him time. this episode was very enjoyable because the under covers worked well together and no one was dragging the team down.

i feel like the way they wrote it was very weird. like what do you mean in a life-or-death situation, SML trusts the FL and her judgement. but when the FL attempts to tell the SML on her sightings of the villain, he wouldn’t even listen to her explanation at all. it would have made more sense the other way round to me.
and i never liked ML from the start lol, he was fooling around all the time, and what he did to the FL felt like borderline bullying. also, i don’t think I’ll ever forget the part where he questioned FL’s judgement during the bomb disposal scene.. and made her very doubtful of her own choice lol.
honestly, I think FL shouldn’t have ended up with either of them, I’m not satisfied with the choices ML and SML made lol
