I think it's clear his dad is uncomfortable with Gene's sexuality and what he does for a living his reaction when Gene was at his parents house and Gene and his mom were talking about it made me realize his dad didn't really like it or was uncomfortable with it. I agree Gene is uncomfortable with it himself and it could be because of his dad, but i think with Nubsib he was starting to feel more comfortable about himself he was starrting to have feelings. I personally understand why he thought Nubsib's feelings weren't real because he had already lied about stuff. You asked why would he lie about his feelings well i'm sure at the time Gene was thinking why would he lie about anything. Yes Nubsib explained why but still lies hurt and they make you not be able to trust the person because if they have told you one lie how do you know they haven't told more lies? How do you know that everything they have told you isn't a lie? I've personally been lied to before by someone i loved and it hurts bad and it really makes you question everything they have ever told you and everything they tell you from that moment on. It makes it hard to trust, it took me a long time to trust the person again i was always wondering well are they lying about this are they lying about that was anything ever the truth. It sucks being lied to it really does break trust, i've been there so i totally get why Gene would have thought that Nubsib lied about his feelings. He was probably thinking if Nubsib is a liar has anything he said been true. But i am glad that they talked and Gene is giving Nubsib another chance and gonna let him prove his feelings so Gene will know they are real.

Young kids sometimes develop crushes not anything sexual, not at that age. Even Nubsib said at that time he didn't understand his feelings but now he knows for sure that he likes Gene. When he was a kid it was more his admiration for Gene he didn't start liking him romantically until he was a teenager. Gene's mom and Nubsib's mom became friends and Nubsib saw/got pictures of Gene and got updated on Gene's life through his mom. In episode 6 Nubsib's mom told Gene that Nubsib was always asking about him. And seeing the pictures of a grown up Gene that's when Nubsib started to have romantic feelings for Gene. It was in the book but if they will clarify it on the show or not i don't know.

Gene was hurt because Nubsib lied to him. Gene is 26 or almost 26 and has never had a relationship he has walls built up around him doesn't really let people in. But for some reason he let Nubsib in and started to fall for him then found out Nubsib was lying and so Gene thought Nubsib lied about having feelings for Gene as well. He thought Nubsib was just playing with him playing a prank, hence why in episode 7 when Nubsib told Gene again that he liked him Gene said HAHA what a funny joke because he thought and asked Nubsib to prove that he had feelings for him, because he thought Nubsis wasn't serious and didn't really have feelings for him. That's why Gene was so upset in episode 6 and reacted the way he did not because he suddenly remembered that Nubsib didn't send him off when he was a kid. Yes i'm sure Gene was very upset about that when he was a kid when it happened and yes he mentioned it to Nubsib in episode 7 after Nubsib said that the day Gene left he realized he had feelings for him and Gene said you mean the day you didn't send me off. So it clearly did bother him but that wasn't why he was as upset as he was and reacted the way he did, he was upset and reacted that way because like i said previously Nubsib lied to him and Gene thought Nubsib's feelings weren't real that they were a lie too but Gene was already falling for Nubsib so that's why he got so upset. I really don't get how people think that Gene's reaction was because of something that happened when he was a kid, his reaction came from so much more than that. I thought it was pretty clear in episode 7 when he made the comment about Nubsib's feelings being a joke and asked Nubsib to prove his feelings. Also this is in the book that's how i got this explanation. And after watching episode 7 and hearing the things Gene said it makes sense.

Oh My Gosh Aoey is awful he is the worst character. His character might not seem to bad right now, but he is going to get very bad and do some terrible things (based off of the book). I just can't stand evil characters. But where is Hin is a good question so far he has only been on about 2 or 3 episodes. He will be back on again though maybe soon because he is the one that is supposed to ask Gene to break up with Nubsib.

I don't think so from my understanding he developed a crush on Gene because he liked him as an author he was even telling Gene in one episode he loved his books and read one of them twice. I may not be correct about that though. I've never actually read the novel because can't find it in English subs. I have just learned bits and pieces about the novel from people who have read it and also from Lazy Subber they post a lot of spoilers on their facebook from the novel. Maybe someone who has read the novel themselves can answer your question fully, but from everything i've heard and seen he does not have a past with Gene.

I think Aey is just plain crazy to be honest he tells Gene that he likes Nubsib i guess trying to keep Gene from dating Nubsib cause he thinks if he keeps Gene and Nubsib apart he can have Gene. But he does some really crazy stuff and i don't know how he thinks any of the stuff he does will make Gene like him.

I am so dreading the terrible stuff Aey is going to do, i hope Tiffy or someone finds out and stops him. I don't want anything happening to Gene or Sib. Aey is just crazy, does he actually think trying to drug someone will make that person like him and what is scary is thinking about what he might do to Gene if he actually succeeded in drugging him. And poor Sib actually ends up drinking it and getting drugged hope nothing happens to him.

Thank you i'm kind of obsessed with details to be honest lol!! I will watch an episode 2 or 3 times just to make sure i catch every detail and not miss anything. I watched today's episode twice already i caught the dragon the first time but watched it back just to be sure then i went back and checked episode 4 just to match it up lol!! I know i'm weird but i'm glad i noticed that about the dragon.

That cluck cluck was hilarious lol!! But you are right, and speaking of the toys i noticed something i think it was back in episode 4 Nubsib had a stuffed dragon and i remember people thought that was weird. But they showed in today's episode when they were kids Gene playing with 2 stuffed dragons and Nubsib wanted to play and Gene's mom told Nubsib she would get one for him after Gene went to sleep and then later on it showed Nubsib as a kid after Gene had left crying and hugging the stuffed dragon. Gene had asked Nubsib in ep 4 if Nubsib's boyfriend had given him the dragon but it actually used to be Gene's when he was younger or am i wrong about that?

I'm not saying he wasn't upset about it. But it wasn't the main reason he was so upset and reacted the way he did it might have been part of it but not the main reason. The main reason is because he thought Nubsib's feelings weren't real because Nubsib had lied to him. I am just going by what was in the book and the show is based off of the book. If Nubsib not saying goodbye was the main and only reason why Gene got so upset it would have said that in the book. On the one i watched Nubsib said the day that Gene left he made him realize that he liked him and Gene said you mean the day you didn't send me off? He didn't say if you liked me why didn't you say goodbye unless the translations were wrong on the one i watched. I know sometimes depending where you watch it the subtitles can be different.

I don't think that's why Gene reacted that way last week, he was just angry or hurt because Nubsib had lied to him anyone would be hurt if they were lied to especially by someone they care about. And because Nubsib had lied Gene thought he was also lying about liking Gene that was made obvious today when Nubsib told Gene again that he liked him and Gene said HAHAHA what a joke. Because he thought that was also another lie from Nubsib and he even told Nubsib to prove that he was telling the truth about liking him, so to me that seems more like the reason he reacted the way he did last week not because he was still mad about something that happened 10 years ago or more. Yes Gene did mention that incident today but only after Nubsib brought it up first, if that was really the reason Gene was so upset or angry and reacted like he did he would have brought it up. And plus it was in the book the reason Gene was so hurt and reacted the way he did was because Nubsib had lied to him and so he thought Nubsib's feelings weren't real he thought Nubsib had lied about liking him and was playing with his emotions. Did Gene overreact maybe so, but he has never had a relationship and the first person he fell for lied to him and he thought everything was a lie including Nubsib's feelings so of course he would be upset. But anyways Gene didn't react that way because Nubsib didn't say goodbye to him.

Yes i also think something could have happened to Gene. But what confuses me is why he couldn't remember Tum who is his friend from college, he couldn't remember him at first he asked Tum who he was. I found that odd Gene's only 25 so it wouldn't have been that long ago when he was in college so why wouldn't he remember Tum?

I thought maybe Gene didn't remember Nubsib because Nubsib had been overseas since he was a kid so for many years they didn't see each other and Nubsib changed his last name. But you are right it could be more than that because Gene also couldn't remember who Tum was at first either and Tum is supposed to be one of Gene's friends from college which wouldn't have been that long ago so why didn't he remember Tum? I hope we start getting some clarity soon on what really happened.

If Gene had did something bad to Nubsib then why would Nubsib like Gene and want to be close to him that doesn't make any sense. He would more than likely avoid Gene if he had done something bad to him. Nubsib stays close to Gene even lied to get to live with him and takes care of him. That doesn't sound like someone who was hurt in that way. I know if i had been hurt in that way i would never go around the person who did it to me ever again let alone take care of them. But Nubsib cooks for Gene, took care of him when he had a fever, when and picked him up gave him a piggyback ride and took care of him when he was drunk and took care of him when he burnt his hand. That convinces me that Gene did not do anything inappropriate to Nubsib. I think the hug was 2 friends who possibly thought of each other as brothers hugging, i don't think there is a deep meaning behind it at least not something like Gene hurting Nubsib, that just doesn't make sense with the way that Nubsib treats Gene now, no abuse victim is going to treat their attacker the way Nubsib treats Gene. And also if Gene had done something to Nubsib why would Nubsib's mom and brother still talk to Gene and be friendly with him? If you're child had something bad like that done to them would you still talk to the person who did it even have them over at your house?

Oh wow!! I knew they had said that on the show but i wasn't sure if Sib had been lying about his age. I knew Gene was older but i thought maybe only a couple of years, but he really is 6 years older Thanks!!!
