Interesting info from someone who read the novel about Gene's POV why he reacted the way he did and also about his and Nubsib's age's. According to this Gene is older than Nubsib. Nubsib's mom just meant that they are not much different in age, from the same generation. And also explains that Gene is 26 years old and has never had a relationship, Nubsib is the first person he ever fell for. But then he found out that Nubsib hid the truth about knowing him and lied about needing a place to stay and he feels like Nubsib was just playing a joke on him and playing with his feelings.

Yes. Hopefully we will get an explanation next week and i hope it's a good one. In the preview it shows Nubsib goes to see Gene hopefully they will talk and work it out.

If they were related Gene would more than likely have known that unless it was a relative he had never met before. But no there mom's are best friends and they grew up together until Nubsib went overseas. Gene just calls Nubsib's mom aunt because she is his mom's friend. But yes Nubsib has been manipulating Gene from the start, i believe Nubsib has liked Gene probably even since they were kids and he was trying to get close to Gene again and have Gene fall for him, but he could have handled that better he didn't have to manipulate Gene. I believe that is exactly why Gene is upset there could be more to it but that is part of it.

Because Nubsib lied to him and he feels like Nubsib betrayed him. There are some theories going around that something may have happened in the past between Gene and Nubsib or even that something may have happened to Gene to make him forget who Nubsib was, which may have something to do with Gene's reaction. But we don't know any of that for sure. What we do know is that Gene didn't remember/recognize who Nubsib was. Could be maybe because they hadn't seen each other since they were kids because Nubsib was overseas, and Nubsib changed his last name. And we know that Nubsib knew all along who Gene was and didn't tell Gene and Nubsib lied about needing a place to stay and Gene is starting to fall for Nubsib so the fact that Nubsib lied and kept it from him he feels betrayed and is maybe questioning if Nubsib actually likes him or if it all was a lie. I can understand Gene being upset maybe he did overreact a little and Nubsib should have explained himself. But anyone would be upset if they got lied to and betrayed by someone they cared about and were getting close to. But i do think that Nubsib should have explained why he lied and kept it from Gene, he said he had a reason and kept asking Gene to listen to him so why didn't he say it. I know Gene was mad and upset and didn't want to listen but Nubsib should have just blurted it out get it out there so they can talk it out, and Gene should have been willing to listen. I hope after Gene calms down they can talk and Nubsib will explain and i hope there was a good reason.

I don't think Nubsib is 26, I know his mom said him and Gene were the same age but she also said she is getting older and can't remember things. So maybe she thought they were the same age, or maybe she meant they were around the same age. Because in the flashback scene of Gene and Nubsib when they were kids it clearly showed that Nubsib was younger than Gene, plus Nubsisb goes to university they have mentioned that a few times, and he wouldn't still be going to university if he was 26. Unless he's lying about going to university too, but Gene has dropped him off and picked him up from university so if Nubsib was lying about going he would have to leave university after Gene dropped him off and go there just to have Gene come pick him up there. And if that's the case he would have either had to walk to and from university, found someone else to give him a ride somewhere, or spend money on a taxi and spend all day out somewhere away from the condo just to make Gene believe he was going to university, that just seems like a lot of trouble and odd lol. But i guess it's possible that he could be lying about it, but that still doesn't explain the flashback scene. That scene was Gene remembering them when they were kids and Nubsib was younger than Gene, they were hugging and Gene even rubbed his head. Why would Gene remember Nubsib being younger than him? That doesn't make sense, if Nubsib was the same age as Gene wouldn't he remember it like that in the flashback? It seems more likely that Nubsisb's mom just got their ages wrong. I do agree that Nubsib not telling Gene who he is and lying about needing a place to stay was wrong and wish he would have told his reason for doing so, he kept saying listen to me and that he had a reason but never told his reason and he had a chance. Hopefully he will tell his reason next week, and i hope he has a good reason. But as far as Nubsib actually being 26 i'm not buying it quite yet that flashback scene is making it hard for me to believe that. I could be wrong about that, but until they give actual facts and proof that Nubsib lied about his age and is actually 26 i am going to believe what the flashback or rather Gene's memory showed me and that is that Nubsib is younger.

I just hope whatever it is they get a happy ending.

I know right lol!! I hope the stuff between Gene and Nubsib gets cleared up pretty quick, i hope Nubsib has a good reason for lying.

I just watched it again and Gene didn't say he had been made a fool of before in the past, he just said he didn't want to listen to what Nubsib had to say because he didn't want to be made a fool of again by him, he could have been talking about this incident though not something that happened in the past. But i guess it is possible something happened in the past. But as far as Nubsib going overseas and Gene's father being involved. Gene's father couldn't have been involved in Nubsib going overseas he couldn't make that decision, Nubsib's parents would have had to make that decision. Gene's father could have maybe kept them from being able to say goodbye( if that's what happened). I really don't understand why Nubsib didn't just tell Gene from the start who he was though why all the secrecy and lying? He should have known whenever Gene found out the truth it might make him mad or upset for being lied to. Unless something did happen in the past so Nubsib was afraid Gene wouldn't have anything to do with him if he knew who he was but thought if he could get Gene to fall for him then Gene wouldn't mind when he found out the truth?? I have no idea i hope we get some kind of clarity next week.

I Don't understand people thinking that Gene and Nubsib are related. If they were related wouldn't Gene have known that and remembered him? They were childhood friends but Gene didn't remember or recognize Nubsib because he had been overseas for a long time and they hadn't seen each other and Nubsib changed his last name. Gene was upset because he Nubsib knew all along and didn't tell him, he lied to Gene and therefore Gene felt betrayed. He is probably feeling like everything with Nubsib has been a lie and Nubsib doesn't really have feelings for him, but from the way Gene cried he clearly is or has fallen for Nubsib, which is why he feels so hurt.

Yes!!! That would be amazing some people have said there is going to be a season 3 that it was confirmed on twitter and instagram but i'm not sure.

Yes that would make sense if it was her husband's name and his insurance covered it that's why i was thinking that Troy Cornelius was her husband and Shi De's stepdad but then who is Brandon? So many questions lol, either way can't wait for the next episode.

Yes me too i need more of them lol I love them together their chemistry is amazing. And i totally agree about the dad he claimed he was doing it for Shu Yi but he just caused Shu Yi more pain, i hope they stand up to him and let him know they won't be apart.

That's true thanks for your explanation!!! I've been going it over and over trying to make it all make sense, and now it makes more sense than it did before. I think the dad shouldn't have done all of that though i know the company is important but so is his son and his happiness. But like you said that's not the kind of father he was. I am glad they are working things out now and hope the dad will leave them alone now and not try to break them up again and that they can have a happy ending. Can't wait for the next episodes wish there were more than 2.

Yes!! I just couldn't understand why if his dad disapproved why he let Shu Yi go to America to see Shi De that didn't make any sense to me and he clearly disapproves he told Shi De himself that he disapproves so that just had me confused. Him letting Shu Yi go to America doesn't seem like something he would do if he disapproved, but maybe he was going to accept it until after the misunderstanding in the US then he got angry at Shi De for betraying Shu Yi (or so he thought) and then started disapproving. Or maybe he let Shu Yi go to the US because he didn't think that Shu Yi was serious about Shi De until he came back upset then he realized that Shu Yi was serious about him. I know he got angry and made Shu Yi move and confiscated his phone and intercepted Shi De's emails and came up with that phony deal for Shi De just to separate them and he admitted he disapproved because he wants Shu Yi to marry a woman and give him grandkids. So i was just confused about that it didn't make sense to me that if he disapproved that he would let Shu Yi go to the US so i was thinking that maybe he didn't actually know that Shu Yi went to the US just that he went on a trip and found out about the US after Shu Yi came back but i guess i was wrong about that. But still just so confused why did he let SHu Yi go to America did he already disapprove of Shi De then if so why did he let Shu Yi go? I don't know and i guess it's not really important just something i'm racking my brain over trying to understand but either way i'm just going to enjoy the last 2 episodes and hope that they confront the dad together and can have a happy relationship now.

Thanks it makes more sense to me now if the subs aren't accurate it can really make it confusing. It just had me so confused about why his dad let him go to the US if he disapproved, so i was thinking that maybe he didn't know Shu Yi went to the US until after he came back. I thought maybe Shu Yi had asked to take a trip but didn't tell his dad where and the dad found out when he came back and that's why he was angry that was the only thing that made sense to me. And it still kinda doesn't make sense to me the dad's reaction after Shu Yi came back to me it seems like if he had known then why was he so angry at Shu Yi? I can understand being mad at Shi De he thought Shi De had betrayed his son. But to end up in an argument with Shu Yi, be angry at him, making him move, confiscating his phone even trying to slap him to me that just didn't seem like the reaction he would have if he had known that his son went to the US or the reaction of a father who is upset because he thinks his son got betrayed. To me that seemed more like the reaction he would have if he found out that Shu Yi had went there. I knew the dad had known about Shi De since season one, but i also thought the dad disapproved from the start because he told Shi De that he wanted Shu Yi to marry a woman and have kids but Shu Yi liked Shi De and he disapproved. That's why i thought none of it made sense, but maybe what you said is right maybe he didn't think Shu Yi was serious about Shi De at first or maybe he was going to accept it at first until after the misunderstanding in the US? That's a good point he doesn't know when and where Shu Yi saw him so he isn't putting it all together, that the girl Shu Yi saw was Ashley.

Either way the dad has lied to Shi De he admitted it to Shi De himself that he lied and tricked him with the deal and he lied about Shu Yi giving him the phone so how can we be sure that he didn't lie about when Shu Yi confronted him? Although i don't know what purpose he would have had to lie about that though. But also if Shu Yi's dad already knew about Shi De and everything then why did he get mad after Shu Yi came back from America wanting Shu Yi to move, confiscating his phone and making him change his phone number that doesn't make sense to me if he had already known about Shi De. But he did learn that Shu Yi was in love in season 1. A lot of it doesn't make sense the dad told Shi De he didn't approve because he wanted Shu Yi to marry a woman and give him grandkids so if he didn't approve why did he even let Shu Yi go to America to see Shi De and why did he act the way he did after Shu Yi came back from America? None of that makes sense to me at all no matter how much i try to make it make sense, that's why i thought the dad had lied about everything to Shi De to get him to accept the phony deal in hopes of splitting up Shu Yi and Shi De. Whatever the truth is i hope we find it out.

I assumed it was Chol because it wasn't Prab's mom in the picture, the woman in the picture had dark hair and she looked nothing at all like Prab's mom so i assumed she was Chol's mom but i'm not sure.
