I agree, her attitude towards him did change and I was also surprised by that. I think the writers were going for a slow burn love story when they wrote this, and where I find fault with them is actually in including the third guy interested in her. he seems unnecessary to me. I felt like A'yao at least helped FL in some character growth and preparation for what's to come, which is why I didn't have a problem with the love triangle there. I'd also like to say that one of her faults is not having much emotional intelligence, so while she may have feelings for the ML, she may not realize yet and even less knows how to express it. I think this (along with her low self esteem) is why she isn't able to realize that he likes her.

I described the good things because I'm telling you what I like about them. I'm not gonna say I like the FL cause she has really low self esteem and is stubborn. as for the ML, I think to say he bears jealous scenes is a stretch. yeah, he's the one going after her, but to start, she doesn't think she has a chance with him because of her low self esteem. Im also pretty sure by ep22 you've seen that she's engaged to A'yao, so Im glad she's indifferent to him, it means she's loyal. and her scenes with other guys, well one is her fiance so that's life. and the other guy she basically tells to go away every time, so I don't think general Ling is jealous of him, he's more likely bothered that this guy is always annoying Shaoshang. Also remember that General Ling has plenty of girls after him, hes probably the most sought after guy in the capital. Id also like to say that I normally hate love triangles, but I actually really liked the way this show executed this one. instead of making A'yao someone for viewers to hate, they made him really sweet and I even felt bad knowing that eventually theyd have to break up.

I haven't completed the whole show, just this first season, but I have no clue what you mean by the high ratings. I like the FLs character because shes bold, intelligent, cares about others and knows how to defend herself. and I like the ML because he's been patient with Shaoshang, and maybe he doesn't handle things perfectly, but I wouldn't say he's the jealous type. he might not let people offend her but that's not jealousy

I had quite a few that I really liked last year, including Twinkling Watermelon, that one was SO good! I would put Daily Dose of Sunshine up there with it as my favorites of last year! plus the webtoon author Lee Hey had two drama adaptations made: See You in my 19th Life and A Good Day to be a Dog, and I really enjoyed both! of course there were some disappointing dramas but I personally didn't consider it to be a bad year. Doctor Slump is unfortunately feeling like it'll be disappointing so I'm dropping it for now

shin sae kyeong shined in ep4, I hope her acting stays this good going forward cause I was ready to drop (cause of the story though, not her)

I saw her in the drama Run On, which I was really close to dropping but more bc of the MLs acting (Im Si-won). in general I thought most of the characters acting was weird, so I figured maybe it was the directing but then I saw him again in the movie Unlocked and still didn't like it.

I think SSK is better here but I do wish she tried more to come off as a man, like I can't imagine anyone falling for her disguise when she looks like she's wearing makeup and talking normally. and it's hard not to compare to Park Eun-bin in The King's Affection, where her performance and look were a lot more passable - her look as in they didn't try to make her into a pretty man and she worked to make her expressions look more imposing instead of sweet/innocent. I'm thinking of dropping but I'll give it one more week, sometimes the first 2ep are the worst ones and you just gotta get through it

woah if that's true about the new show, shes definitely a good choice for the role! the show is called "to my Harry" and from what I've seen it's still speculation but has a good chance of being true

I agree with you completely cause I also just started this a few days ago and was really bored at first and on the edge of dropping (especially cause of the leads not talking except for 2 sec while she was hidden in a carriage), but today I watched ep7 I think? and I started to get into it more and now I'm already on ep12 :)

I have to agree, I've just finished ep7 after a long break from the drama, and while I like it a little bit more now, I still don't get the hype. I love Kim go-eun as an actress too, so I expected to love this as much as everyone else, but I'm struggling to not just drop it already. and same as you, the second couple is the one I'm actually interested in. Ill probably keep watching it in-between other dramas on my list but for now it's not at all my priority
