I do feel they didn't give her character enough growth. She was only concerned about getting caught but not once…
Wdym she didn't once feel guilty? She literally explained how guilty she felt about maintaining the lie, desperately wanting to keep her very first job, and not disappointing her sick mother and how she's been losing sleep every night because of it. She even had stomachaches from all the stress the lie caused her. I'm sick of people dismissing the FL's perspective just because the ML's feelings are more magnified. The FL suffers just as much as the ML from keeping the lie, but y'all are so male-centered. God forbid a woman prioritizes herself and her own situation instead of noticing that the ML still can't get over their Jeju fling, is totally into her, and was deeply hurt by her lie.

I saw someone say on threads "it's the power of adrenaline"
I'm sorry I don't get what you're trying to say. Isn't that what adrenaline exactly does - it creates a superhuman-like state for survival or peak performance, enabling actions like lifting heavy objects or overcoming fear. It a fight-or-flight trigger response that allows human to exert force beyond normal limits when they're in extreme danger/panic/survival mode. When I saw that comment on Threads, I also saw other people in the comments saying they had similar experience like carrying refrigerator when flood hit, carrying their big brother. They even surprised how they managed to do it and only realized it later.

Jang Kiyong needs to do more romcoms. His comedic acting is spot-on, and his facial expressions are absolutely hilarious. I was dying laughing at this week’s episodes 🤣

Title Silent Tides
It does well on TV rating, but online views not so much. This drama probably resonates more with the older generation.
I mean the online views from Chinese platform (based on Yunhe)

I see they are taking the hollywood route of almost thirty year olds in school.
Who cares when they look young and exude youthful vibe unlike those Hollywood actors that actually look much older than their actual age + characters age

On Sunshine through the Rain Dec 10, 2025
Omg I saw the concept teaser video and the FL's style and temperament is immaculate!! Aloof, gloomy FL will always be my favorite!! 😩

It's giving sunshine boy x midnight rain girl trope and I'm absolutely here for it.

Cdrama just keeps serving the exact brooding, atmospheric romance that I've always dreamed of, love to see it 🤌🏻

Girl this is probably the drama with the heaviest beauty/skin smoothening filter I've ever seen like why they lowkey look like 3D animated characters.. those smooth pinkish baby skin is throwing me off sometimes, it feels like I'm watching donghua 🤣

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I’ll share it anyway. The drama is good, however I feel the rating is…
I think most MDL users rate dramas based on the emotions they leave you with, rather than merely technical or production perfection.

Sure there may be tons of other better dramas than the The Prisoner of Beauty from the writing or quality aspect, I also think The Story of Ming Lan was a great drama, but I guess the rating is higher on this one was because the romance and the leads’ chemistry hit so hard that tons of viewers get super attached.

You can have dramas that are brilliantly written and directed, yet somehow you never feel connected enough to rewatch them, they’re just “good once.” This is how I felt about a lot of critically acclaimed dramas esp the non-romance genre — I watched once, acknowledge that it's a good writing, then move on.

Then there are ones with some imperfections yet something about the story or the characters grab your heart, affect you emotionally and live rent-free in your head, that you can't help but keep going back to them. TPOB is 100% the second kind for a lot of people.

Probably the most pathetic and unlikable FL character that I've watched in months. She kept me from enjoying this…
You find her pathetic but character like this literally exist and very common in real life. It doesn't hurt to show some empathy and accept that everyone have different personality and would have different response towards a certain situation. Idk what kind of personality you'd expect her to have when she's raised in such upbringing and environment. At least she has good character development by the end of the drama. The way she's written is very consistent with the story and message core of the drama. And the actress did good job portraying her.

In real life, personality like ML would be the one that's extremely annoying, pathetic and unlikeable.

i haven't come to the comment section ever since, because i already knew exactly what would be going on here.…
Are we surprised FL characters are always hated on this site... They're always subjected to much higher standards than what MLs can usually get away with. I've seen plenty of dramas and it's been the same every time and every year. A lot of people can easily empathize with ML feelings and situations but can't extend the same understanding towards FL and try to see things from her perspective smh... And the crazy thing it's always the women that judge another women so harshly..

This drama is criminally underrated among intl cdrama fans community. I'm usually not into fantasy drama but this one was so epic. One of the best costume dramas I've watched. Thank god it was a big hit in China.

Title Why Is He Still Single? Spoiler
Enjoyed this drama a lot. Just wish the ending had hit harder…

The fact that it ended with a kiss, an awkward first kiss at that, left me feeling so empty lol (not the “post-drama withdrawal” kind of empty, but the “that was unsatisfying ?” kind). Their relationship buildup was so, so good, but the emotional payoff was tiny. I really wish we’d gotten even a small glimpse into their life together afterward.

This underwhelming ending totally reminds me of Twelve Letters. That one was great right up until the lackluster finale where we didn’t even get to see the main characters reunite in the alternate timeline. The emotional payoff wasn’t worth the journey and made what could’ve been a standout drama kinda forgettable.

Also, it’s a shame Xiaoman just left like that. The final interaction between her and Dr. Gu felt like it was hanging without a proper send-off. Instead, their last scenes were mostly used to make Dr. Gu realize that Yu Yu has always had eyes for her / to confirm her own feelings. Their friendship was one of my favorite parts of the show, so that bittersweet, unresolved note left a bad taste in my mouth. The writer could’ve easily given them a warmer, more closure-filled goodbye.

Lastly, it would’ve been perfect if we’d gotten one more get-together with the whole gang. This drama did such a good job making the side characters lovable and endearing, which is rare, because I usually don’t care about anyone except the main couple. But here I genuinely loved every single one of them. Just one more heartwarming scene like the fireworks night scene would’ve sent me off with the nicest, warmest feelings.

The second half of the final episode lowkey ruined what would otherwise have been a perfect drama for me. The ending isn’t bad, it just… lacks flavor, it doesn’t give that deeply satisfying closure that makes a show stick with you forever.

Other than that, though, this drama was really lovely and refreshing. I still would highly recommend this especially to those who enjoy slice of life genre.

Some people were questioning the ML's behavior towards the "married" FL and the double standards when it comes to “cheating,” which is fair I guess but I honestly don’t think we should expect any of them to be typical morally righteous people either. Even right now, all four characters are lowkey unhinged lol. Darim and Seonu are way too deep in their lies and roleplaying. Hayeong knows yet instead of being discreet, she still flirts shamelessly with Seonu even when he’s working right next to the “wife,” making Jihyeok spiral, and then Jihyeok himself acts a little too sweet with Darim, more than what a boss and team member should be.

From the preview, it’s obvious the plot is heading toward a full-blown clashes between desire, temptation, and morality. Meaning things are about to get way messier than they already are—and this toxic, gray-morality trainwreck is precisely why things are getting more exciting for me. Watching them struggling with their principles over "fake marriage" would be peak entertainment ngl.

I am not the only one who thinks she would be fine ending up with either of them, but that is not the case. On…
Agree, but the SML also didn't really push her away when they were kissing, which awkwardly lasted quite long.. He didn't explicitly told her that it wasn't okay to do this, like his reaction to the kiss was very lukewarm, which could easily give the SFL the impression that she still has a shot. SFL is the classic case of spoiled rich kid who is used to getting whatever she desires so I'm not surprised how upfront and shameless she is in pursuing someone. I'm not saying it's okay for her to cross boundary like that, just that I understand why she's the way she is. Hope she gets her own growth arc.

Gasp.. the ending scene of ep 6 and the next week's preview are lowkey insane. I'm loving this more and more! But at the same time trying to keep my expectations in check, there have been many kdramas this year where I was super hyped in the beginning only to be let down hard in the second half or near the ending. Fingers crossed this one surprises me and stays this good and fun all the way to the end. If the story doesn't suddenly fall apart, it could easily be my romantic kdrama of the year.
