Forgive me, to anyone who likes this drama, I can’t bring myself to finish even ep 1 . The FL’s acting is…
i feel like if you're used to watching kdrama romcom, you should have expected the acting style are gonna be exaggerated on purpose and cringe to a certain level. i usually keep the "don't take the acting too seriously" mindset when watching romcom to enjoy them better.

also you'd be surprised to know there are lots of asian in 30s who still behave innocently and a little childishly like da rim especially when they have been unemployed since study and have never entered work society. a person's maturity usually tied more to experiences and environment they grew up in than the age.

tbh most who enjoyed this drama get hooked right from the first episode but if you already didn't enjoy the premise from the first episode, it's hard to say if it gets better. maybe the drama isn't for you.

Ep 3 - I know they just want to be dramatic, but jumping in thr pool over papers that can be reprinted again is…
yup dramatic but i also can see why the writer wrote that way bc we won't get the scene of the ML jumping into pool to save the FL otherwise as well as the slow-mo romantic ending scene of them staring into each other's eyes LOL. in romcom, logic and realistic action would be thrown away just to create a heart fluttering romantic scene so i usually don't take them too seriously 😹

ngl i really don't like jang kiyong's acting 😭 i love the premise of this drama and it gives me older k-drama…
i'm curious what do you not like about his acting? was it bc the exaggerated performance? it can be cringe at times but i think it's in line with the unserious romcom genre. the subtle and grounded acting style would fit more for realistic type of drama.

Too cliche… that’s my two cents. The plot and storyline is just being reused again and again. I’m hoping…
I think his acting goes well with the romcom genre. it's exaggerated but it's campy kind of fun

Dang I was just excited that there are similar shows even tho they are not really since they are women focused…
Oh why what's wrong with her? Her character was cool and charismatic there albeit the stubbornness and strong personality, and the acting was good. She perfectly match with the character and the chemistry with Li Yitong was great too.

I think if you enjoy the slice of life bits and the Shanghai aesthetics of this drama, you might enjoy Dear Missy (the color palette and cinematography was beautiful) and Ode to Joy.

They're more about female friendships but watching Why is He still Single reminds me of the two dramas - stories centered around urban life in Shanghai

I didn't enjoy Filter that much. So you hoping it to be as good as Filter kinda doesn't sit well with me.. it's…
Sorry I meant to say his best and most popular modern romance. I know UTS was his most popular modern work overall. Filter is not among the floppest this year but if you compare it his other dramas, it was kind of flop. I mean people always consider LMLYV to be a flop but it still did better than Filter views wise. So if LMLYV was flop, then what does that make Filter, iykwim. Plus, in China, dramas with avg views under 20m is often called flop anyways, although some of them are not actual flops if you consider expectations, budget, advertising revenue etc.

I don't think reviews on LMLYV was that polarizing though. Most people were enjoying it. Even while it's airing the comments are generally positive. It has nice feel-good vibe all throughout. Meanwhile for Filter I've seen quite many find it boring and dropped it early on before they get to the fun parts. Only those who stick till the end find them rather a nice watch.

What does that mean 😅?
Imagine thinking you know better than the Chinese citizens about their country's history and politics. And jokes on you, Chinese don't need to be brainwashed bc they can see with their eyes how their country is getting better and better and they are always proud and grateful of what CPC has achieved throughout the decades. Stop consuming too much Western propaganda that always lie about China bc it looks more like you're the one whos being brainwashed. FYI, US gov literally spends billion for anti-China propaganda and everyone knows no one can beat the US when it comes to orchestrating lies, distorted narrative and propaganda about the countries that don't align with them. They have networks and NGOs all over the world. Stop acting as if you're immune to propaganda.

I hope this is as good as FILTER which is TanJC last drama that i watched! That drama is probably my modern drama…
I didn't enjoy Filter that much. So you hoping it to be as good as Filter kinda doesn't sit well with me.. it's like asking for the drama to be a flop bc clearly not many people were liking Filter. Filter was flop in China too. It's better to hope the story is as good as Love Me, Love My Voice aka his best modern drama and also his most popular modern drama. I think this will be more popular than Filter bc it got Wang Churan as FL which is cdrama community's darling.

The comments for this show after only two episodes are ridiculous. The cast are great, LJW is phenomenal as per…
People on mdl are always hating on FLs. I've seen this with too many dramas. They don't extend the same compassion and understanding they usually have for MLs with FLs :/

This getting much higher ratings than Moonlight Mystique and When Destiny Brings the Demon? 👀 Is it that good? I already think MM and WDBTD are some of the best xianxias I watched in the past year. Someone who's seen all three (or even just two), pls share opinions on what edge LITC has over the other two. I'm not a fan of any of LITC's cast, but if it's that good, maybe I'll give it a shot.

Yes they did
Do you know how long the filming of this drama is gonna take and when they're expected to wrap?

I saw SZE constantly rumored for The Palace Stewardess, and it seems interesting too, but idk when that drama's gonna start filming. I'm curious if SZE can make it.

I think Iqiyi might have changed their index rating system since last year to be more difficult to reach. Last…
It's actually the other way around. Yunhe collect data from official platform.

Swords and Beloved need to reach certain number of views for it to be able to hit higher index. So it needs to get around 50M daily views to hit 10K like the two dramas I mentioned above. What the drama needs is a good promo and word of mouth so that it reaches wider drama audience.

Currently it hit over 8500 index. So the daily views must be around 30 million or so.

I am really surprised that heat index again didn't go up.drama is such beautiful it's like again iqiyi hold heat…
I think Iqiyi might have changed their index rating system since last year to be more difficult to reach. Last year, there were only 3 dramas that hit 10k on Iqiyi. This year, there were already 4.

When Feud hit 10K index, at the time they got somewhere between 40-50 million daily views on Yunhe. They hit 10K after a week of airing or so iirc. Before that their views were around 20+ to 30+ million. Coroner's Diary also got 50+ million daily views around the time they hit 10K index

I'm not sure yet if Yunhe views alr out for Sword and Beloved.

Yeas,why it is not increasing??
Tbh some netizens were questioning about Feud index, so I have no opinion on that but Coroner's Diary has good word of mouth and reputation and a lot of those who watched are casual audience or normal drama fans. Cheng Yi has large fandom, so it's normal his drama has a lot of buzz and discussion and that his fans will work on boosting his data but that doesn't necessarily equate to high broadcast volume bc ultimately fandom alone can't carry a drama, it needs to be watched by more casual drama watchers to hit certain index.

There are lot of dramas from crime genre that are are not talked much on social media but get high views and high index.

Yeas,why it is not increasing??
The show just aired yesterday the index is pretty good. It's already the highest on premiere day for 2025 drama. Tbh, it's incredibly hard to hit 10K index on Iqiyi. I feel like Iqiyi might have changed their rating system bc I don't remember it's being this hard to hit 10K on previous years. There's only few dramas this year that manage to hit 10k.

Despite some clichés, I think it’s one of the better romcoms released recently. So far, I’m liking it much more than BAYM or Soomin’s previous romcom, LND. The plot execution, characterization, and acting just flow more naturally, making the episode go by so fast. It’s the first time in a long time that I’ve felt one hour was too short.

Also, romcom is a genre meant for sh*t and giggles, the kind of show you watch to unwind after a long day of work. If you’re taking them too seriously and being too critical, of course you won’t enjoy them. If you want something unique and groundbreaking, you can find it in other genres or maybe watch critically acclaimed films.

The main characters' personalities and their dynamics are just so nice to watch.

I love how both main characters have good temperament and behave mostly like mature, rational adults (I said mostly bc few scenes like the drunk scene was a lil too childish and exaggerated but that's fine, it's a romcom, so I can look past them) and there's no unnecessary screaming or rude remarks that always happen between kdrama couples.

It's kinda refreshing to see Meri and U Joo speak nicely and gently with each other like normal grown adults, which I haven't seen a lot in kdrama romance or at least in romcom genre. Honestly it can be a little turn off at times to see main characters shout or speak unnecessarily harsh with each other, esp from ML to FL, even though I know the scenes are meant to be harmless and unserious.
