Did he? I never read the novel but i have watched the movie , he wasn't cold there but was a quiet and nerdy type,…
what i didn't notice, there is a movie adaptation. I have seen it years ago, nice movie but not that memorable ever.
But as far as I remember, the drama is so so different from this movie. The ML in the movie looked like a nerd and change his appearance later and they didn't have strong bond as best friend in their childhood, compared to the drama
is it inspired from the remarried empress? I would be so glad but there is some revenge plot regarding her family in the synopsis so I don't know if the story will be revenge centered plot that I hope not.

I swear I hear the song, played in this MV, in another drama, I just don't remember the title, can you remind me which drama it was if you might know please?
I just love every characters so much, especially Aunt Qi, Xiao Bei Chen' best friends, I am happy that at least the 2ML redeem himself for the greater picture, the only bitch here is the 2FL, never learn her lesson, quite impressed how HJ shoot her. But I have so many appraisal for the one and only Shawn Du for portraying the perfect XBC, his facial expression from sorrow, longing, hurt, joy, anger, just amazed me all along. As for FL, she act really well even her character is not well written though. I'm glad Brother Shen's death was meaningful and Kang Jing Xiong died whereas I would have been so pissed like other chinese drama trope while the vilains never die after so many attempts lol. So yeah, everyone die....:(( but the execution of every dying scenes was damn touching especially XBC'd dad and Aunt Qi.
Geez I came back after watching the finale, that was good !!! The last 4 episodes were intense and reflect totally the title. I was counting the years like 1933 to 1950 will be a long way to go. They ended the story at 1939 while china is still in turmoil. I'm quite satisfied with the ending though. As I said again, despite frustrating moments, this show never bored me and have been a great entertainment till the end.
Wellcome to the addiction club...what should I do after next week? I am going to miss these people so much
Thank you...I will miss every characters so much...😭 I started it because I didn't have any ongoing kdrama that catch my eyes but I'm so happy to find this one and now I don't know what will I do too after it'll end...
