it's in the finale episode, when XY enter DFQS's inner soul and she witness the blake smoke you mention earlier, Taisui took control over his body. I took it as restrainment because DFQS shoot, "i couldn't hold any longer" (He still has consciousness but soon be devoured by Taisui), if not killed

Haha sorry if i confuse you, but yes taisui perish in DFQS's body. DFQS is still immortal because his primordial soul was in bone orchid and he has this new human form. I quite understand that glaze fire could have been used for something (if i understand your issue) but sadly he just master at the last moment due to XY who made him regain his original heart.

So take mastering hellfire needs to be devoid of 7 emotions, glaze fire is its contrast because compassion and love is the key for mastering it. He was able to activate glaze fire as he regain his consciousness back, the key as YunZhong said, that person need to be triggered by emotions, sufferings, and regain his original heart. Well that's what we witness but also what XY did when she made his sense come back. I also think when XY said that she needs to marry CH and he will be able to activate kinda new power. But in fact, I agree with some commenters implying that the key was love all along, it doesn't matter who the groom will be as long as love matter the most. She was the trigger to let him master that power and to regain hers fully.
The glaze fire appear already when DFQS and Taisui was in one body so he couldn't even use it to kill himself, the black smoke were the evil spirits which restrain DFQS to even use any part of his body (as we can see he desperately hanging above XY without being able to do much)
From what I understand with TaiSui, first he was sealed with that barrier in DFQS's inner soul (thanks to XLH's sealing power), second he couldn't escape that so called prison so he took possession of DFQS's immortal body to have control externally, third, XY killed him in DFQS's body so his "spirit" vanish along (he was already sealed internally too)
DFQS was the one being able to come back because his primordial spirit was still in the bone orchid ( one immortal doesn't perish definitely as long as part of his primordial spirit lies `^^, lesson I learned after watching lot of xianxias lol) And a primordial spirit is like a condensed spirit which is able to move outside the body. She nurtured him to have "new" human forms later.
