Such a good point you made! I think of him as suffering from arrested development too! The fact that he so easily fell into character as his 16yo self just goes to show how immature he was as a 32yo!
That's how I came to like how meatbun did it though! Because she explained how Mo Zongshi is actually txj too! When 16yo Moran woke up that day, he was txj but then after everything he went through he changed. She said that she was trying to show that if this txj gets a chance he will eventually become Mo Zongshi as well. There's no two people. It's just the one Moran and he's on a journey of self-betterment. If you think of it like that, the ending is easier to come to terms with but I understand why you don't like it as well. I really do.

Yeah I try not to link it to the actors but then if you follow other works from that actor, those same people show up on those pages too and I'm generally a very critical person. I don't always dislike things when I point out what seems ridiculous or done badly about them but I'm not afraid to voice it either. If I can't express myself, I lose interest. That's how actors get associated for me. When I can't comment on their works because their fans attack people who do not just say positive things all the time, then I can't engage with their works and enjoy them either.

Another reason might be that we have little info about the past so it's very intriguing and it attracts the attention and speculation of readers. With Mo Zongshi, we have all the information to there's mystery to discover.
Anyway, my favorite is definitely Mo Zongshi as well. He's such a sweetheart.

Meatbun made a whole as$ post explaining it! It really helped me see her perspective and develop my own opinions about txj. She really tried to show that both 0.5 versions deserved a second chance at a normal life and that's why they were merged with the 2.0 versions. I liked that.

That's the thing, rabid fans actually make people run away. I also was enjoying this show, then someone started to bother me and now despite the fact that I enjoyed that show while watching it, it has left a negative aftertaste. I don't go back to it, I don't recommend it, and I just think negatively about the work and its actors because their fans have left this negative impression on me.

My favorite thing about them is how unabashedly messed up they are. Meatbun didn't shy away from making it cruel.
It's a terrible marriage. BUT I also think the memories we get from Mo Ran are actually unreliable. I think cwn and txj had good moments too but Moran still was forgetting the good stuff due to the flower. That's how I convinced myself for why cwn still loved him despite everything. I think they had private moments when txj was more Mo Ran than the flower's puppet and that's how cwn survived.

Yeah, initially I was a little upset that he was merged with Mo Ran because I thought it's a bit cruel to have your abuser take over the body of your lover every two days...but then after I slept on the plot for a while and digested the 311 chapters of torment I had read, I felt like it's good that Meatbun gave him a fair second chance. Now they can negotiate their kinks and figure out what they like. It's all good!

I think this is an abusive relationship between fans and whatever they are a fan of!
I stopped talking to that person before it escalated because they seemed to be looking for a fight and I wasn't in the mood to explain why I thought what I thought. Because next thing you know, you are actively pointing out flaws in something you are actually enjoying because someone can't process critical thinking. So not worth it.

I interpreted the way Txj treated Cwn as negative and didn't really ship them either. I think it was meant to be that way too.
I just reread this part when Txj remembered this one time that he mistreated Cwn really badly and then he saw this vision from Mo Zongshi's memories where he treated Cwn like a king and CWN was so responsive and Txj had an identity crisis because CONSENT IS SEXY?!?! WHAT?!?! NO ONE TOLD ME THAT!
So yeah, I think the point was to say non-con might look hot but consent is HOTTER. So yeah I agree.

The book slows down for a while. I really struggled through the early 200s too but towards the end of 200s it gets better again and it's so emotional and just ....you can't miss it!
