This drama looks good, but honestly; it's going to be a bore if they're going to swim in slomo for 36…
Appreciate your response, hehe :) Some of the sport dramas have a tendency to over dramatize the competitions, e.g. jdoramas about really boring sports trying to make it look exciting, so I am always a bit sceptical… however this one does look good so I'll stick with it for a bit.
This mixed genre, with the looming darkness of death and happiness of him being alive again makes me somehow think of a british series called "in the flesh".
Fabulous drama! All details and the storytelling was really nicely put together, even the little things somehow had an explanation or a reason for happening.
Must though say that it was a bit draggy for me sometimes; too many reoccurring scenes, a bit unavoidable considering the story setting/pace but by the end some sequences got overused and too many fillers with them all playing house or just chatting both in present and the past, which is good for fan service but a bit in the way with all the mystery going on. Subsequently some of the comedy vanished along the way, which is understandable but a pity since that was one of the best smart low key humor I've seen in a K-drama for a while.
Also, the female lead was too bland and I could not really see any chemistry between her and the guys, however the last three/two episodes did give some sense of growth for her character but meh, it's just during those last scenes where all the truth gets revealed of the past.
But all in all, this is getting on my favorites' list!
Thanks for this article! I really liked that the ending of this reply-installment wasn't a typical drama one, since in real life people rarely end up with their first crush or have their first date, kiss etc. -you name - it with solely their first love even if they might get together sometime down the line.
LOVED the transition in ep. 11 from year 2017 to 2037, however much of a tearjerker that actually was.
Yeah and they didn't do that cliffhanger thing as usually and just jumped into the fire directly. That scene where the car hit him tho…. so beautiful and so sad, made me wonder how they filmed it since there's so many emotions on display there.
I honestly don't understand why people see this drama as low budget? Sure, they didn't use much CGI…
Thanks for the thorough reply! I kind of understood that the budget-issue was probably something that was communicated from the production team themselves and is more of an officially known thing but I don't see it as an issue, while some seem to use that as some kind if leverage to give this drama a lower score, review or whatnot (which just makes me a bit sad somehow). As you said; the drama actually carries itself. With that said, I wouldn't mind better CGI but the lack of it doesn't ruin the drama for me at all.
I honestly don't understand why people see this drama as low budget? Sure, they didn't use much CGI to make smart earth and the future look cooler/fancier but on the other hand the CGI in dramas (what I've seen) is usually cringeworthy so good riddance, lol. The cinematography was fab though, and that's more important for me.
I started episode 1 two years ago but stopped coz of the word furry stuff/thingy. Glad I continued this because…
Read these comments and was like "what..???" and then started the drama and was going to close it down because of that chewbacca but then remembered what you wrote and made myself sit through it, lol
I read the manhwa and after watching the previews and previews of it. I do not think i want to watch it. I was…
Yeah, I saw some pics from their promotion earlier and couldn't quite get the picture. The atmosphere of the manhwa is so beautiful and enchanting, hopefully they can create a similar feeling in the drama, even though it's modern setting.
Umm.. I thought this drama would be more about how Hyun Jae helps the kids realize their idol/singer-dreams but he's been a lazy bum for more than half the drama already and also no one seems to think that it's a huge deal that he's travelled to the future somehow…? I really like this drama so I'm a bit concerned that the mystery bit will just fizzle out in-between all the teen drama.
