I don’t know if Leo had heart palpitations when he saw her in that turquoise dress but my mouth dropped when I saw her on screen. Her eyes in particular were dazzling. 😊
LOL. Yes, let me add “best cinematography” and “best soundtrack”. Seriously, I hope TLB wins best drama of the year and both Reba and Leo get recognized for their acting in an award show. Everyone acted well but Reba and Leo IMO gave brilliant performances and it would be great if they are acknowledged for their efforts. Any other awards will be bonus to me!

I would love to see Shiba in battle gear. What scene was that in the manhua? I’m trying to remember what scene that could possibly be in the drama. Was it a design choice by the drama team not to have her in an armor?
-Introduces Ashile Tribe/ East Turks, and sets up an enemy for Tang, and is a foreshadowing to Youzhou and Shouzhou…
The cuju match was the scene that hooked many viewers to continue watching TLB. It was brilliantly filmed and choreographed and was one of my favorite scenes of the drama. The suspense was built when Changge stole Shuyu’s clothes to substitute for him and then Ah Sun strolled into the scene, we viewers could not help but anticipate the face-off between the two and a start of something beautiful. 😊
The match alone had so many gorgeous moves and I like seeing how martial arts was used to win a sporting game by both sides. I can imagine the amount of time the choreographer and director spent to get the right camera angles in the breathtaking aerial moves and various leg movements with the ball to generate excitement for the scenes. Just stunning! Changge’s using the art of war tactics during the game was a prelude to showing her military acumen during the Shou State arc and when she served as a military advisor to Ah Sun.
What cannot be forgotten is the side show of both Li Shimin and Changge’s brother as they surveyed the match because we viewers saw the tension between the brothers. It was already hinted that something big would go down.
The dagger was very symbolic. Changge gave it to her uncle because he taught her everything she knew and she wanted to love and honor him. When she saw the same dagger lying next to her mother’s dead body, it was betrayal of her love. The entire episode was very well done and established the events to come.

Hugs! Your post makes me smile! Agree, showing kindness is a very basic human trait and I’m honestly baffled when people spew hateful comments without cause. If one does not have anything kind to say, better not to say it at all. I’m fine with disagreement on topics because we all have different points of view and that’s honestly the beauty of discussions is reading others’ perspectives. There are so many areas in the drama that I have missed but other posters have shared with me their thoughts and made me view a scene or story arc differently. What is not right is to criticize a drama for superficial reasons and not providing valid reasons or support if opinions differ. I’m also against personal attacks of the actors and other posters (yes, disagree on the topic but please do not name call or curse at the person). We’re all adults and can debate civilly and respectfully.
A bright spot is that I see many new posters popping up and many of them are long time lurkers so it’s great that this incident persuaded them to comment. Hopefully, it’s a start for others to feel comfortable enough to share their thoughts on various topics. I can’t state enough how enjoyable it is to read someone’s perspective of a scene or character. I feel like I’m learning something new each day. 😊
This episode gets to me again and even though I know what to expect, I still end up sobbing the entire episode.…
Thank you for rewatching the scene and giving me your analysis. You're probably right that something on the armor might help the Eagle division members recognized each other and prevented them from killing their own. I would think also their facial appearances might also help identify which sides they were as the helmets did not cover their faces. Han Chinese (Tang soldiers) vs. Ashile tribal members. Interesting to contemplate for sure.
Yes, Ah Sun killed his own men to protect Changge. I was surprised Mu Jin did not say much to Ah Sun after witnessing the scene even though he probably knew of Ah Sun's feelings for her at that point. This was the first time he put her welfare before his tribe and would not be the last time. He loves Changge too much! :)

Ashile moon, Eternal Love of Dream is a good recommendation. She did look very beautiful in the drama but you do have to be patient. The first 23 episodes is quite a slow start. The action picks up considerably in episode 24 so do keep that in mind.

I would recommend the Chinese variety show, Keep Running (2017 season), just so fans can see her in a real life setting reacting to her teammates and other contestants. But do level your expectations, the guests could be really silly and the humor did take me time to get accustomed. The show contained six regular members (Reba being one of them) and typically four guest stars so she was not the focus but there were scenes of her throughout. Each episode, there were challenges the contestants had to perform in teams (vary by number of individuals in each episode) and contestants’ reactions are sometimes so hilarious. I have LOL a few times while watching. I found the episodes (with English subs) on You Tube and provided the link to the first episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DSsPAUhRsA
I hope it works. If not, you can go to You Tube and search “Keep Running Dilraba”; It’s good to see glimpses of Reba’s personality shine through and she was very sweet in the episodes I have watched (I’m only at episode 4). She is also a good dancer so fans can see some of her other talents so for those reasons, I do recommend. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have thus far!
Dilraba is very popular so it’s not surprising she has devoted fans and a fair amount of haters. I read somewhere that she is considered an A-lister and people use her name as possible drama pairings to stir traffic for upcoming dramas. For the amount of attention she generates, she really is quite scandal free. She is constantly linked to various male costars and nothing ever comes out of these rumors. I have also read that many love working with her.
I am so looking forward to her upcoming dramas. The plots seem stronger than her previous dramas and her characters are strong and interesting. I’ll be catching her upcoming modern drama, “You Are My Glory” (likely her last drama of 2021) and hope 2022 will be also be a good year for her!
I don't think so :(...we've been trying to move one but it's been real difficult 😣. I tried watching a few…
No offense taken at all! 😊 I have read the English translated novel of “You Are My Glory” and I like it and am anticipating the visuals of Reba and Yang Yang together. I hope they have great chemistry since the drama is romance heavy and for the lack of better word, “fluffy”. After TLB, I just want to watch something light and a different genre from TLB. I didn’t even realize Leo will have a series premiering soon. I hope Viki carries both dramas but from the synopsis of “Our Times”, I am intrigued. I hope both do well because I’m fans of both Reba and Leo and will support them in their works.

I’m pleased there is no animation in the ending soundtrack because the song Cocoon has such a sad, melancholic undertone to it. I think the animated drawings would not work well with the lyrics and the melody. However, the opening score was very energetic so it would make sense to me to sprinkle animation throughout and like you stated, it was very appropriate that the drama paid homage to the manhua artist. I’m fine with the animation for the opening song and for the most part, the drama, except for a few spots that I prefer live action. I know the drama was filmed during COVID so perhaps it posed issues during filming and animated drawings were inserted in its place.
Here's the video of one of his proposals https://youtu.be/SiMDWemLsc0
I remember reading about some stalker proposing to Reba but this is the first time I saw the video. Reba being a pro kept on talking as though nothing happened. The crew handled the stalker well but I can't help but be worried for her. It's troubling that he was able to approach her and knew of her public appearances. I hope she has a good security team around her.

Glad to read that you're staying! It's always exciting to see new posters and read their take on the drama. I'm sure we'll be engaged in many topics soon!
Okay this is something I've always admired in TLB.. The hair, the manes, the locks!! So these are my favorite…
I love this topic! Very light hearted and fun! My ranking on costume and hair styling:
1. Ashile Sun (tribal wear) – no one can possibly surpass Ah Sun in terms of his beautiful hair with those complicated braids. His military attire is so impressive and when he wears the mask, the entire look is rather imposing! Wow! I said it before, TLB should win an award on costume design just on Ah Sun’s styling alone! However, I am lukewarm on his Tang look at the central plains.
2. Mimi Guli – she looks too good for a slave. I love her wavy hair loose and the braids. The dangling jewelry on her forehead is also a nice touch.
3. King of Mobei – I like his reddish blonde hair with all the nice braids too. That guy is too beautiful so I want to include him to my list. 😊
4. Li Leyan – the Tang dynasty look is all updos and Lusi looks cute in that style. Her dresses also go well with her hair and I like the dangling accessory to the back of her bun.
5. Li Changge – It’s hard to rate Changge’s appearances because she has so many looks but I do like that the drama consistently emphasizes the two strands of hair to the side of her face (her signature look). I like her Tang male attire, with a simple small bun on top of her head or a black hat. For her female looks, I prefer her beautiful locks down or with a loose side braid, styled very simply, placing emphasis on her face and beautiful eyes (mostly her grassland looks). She is gorgeous in that blue green dress and the veil. I wish there is one frame where we can see her in that dress without the veil. My least favorite of hers is the high bun on top without accessories, I think it makes her oval face longer; she looks very pretty with the high bun with hair adornments (Tang princess look).
6. Gongsun Yuan – She’s super duper cute with the two buns to the side of her head and bangs.
Easiest to style: Shiba! Poor girl only gets a pony tail!
I am one of the few who do not like She’er hair. He’s a good-looking guy but those braids dangling in the front is a no no for me, seems a bit girly IMO. I wish they are more pulled back from his face. I get that the drama wants to make the distinction among the Ashile divisions but wish they would have changed the clothing color or slightly alter the styles of their clothes to show the difference rather make the hair different. She’er would look much better if his hair was styled similarly to the Eagle division tribal men.
Does Chang Ge love A’Sun as much as he loves her? Or is their relationship simply “bromance”?I have seen…
This is so beautifully written! Thank you for the wonderful recap of how much Changge does love Ah Sun. When I was reading through each point, my head is filled with a montage of their scenes from the drama. 😁
May I suggest that you include this post to a discussion thread created by Kaju discussing Changge's love for Ah Sun? A few of us already post some of our thoughts and it will be great if your post is added so new visitors can reference one place for clarification. New posts pop up frequently and can be buried and missed rather quickly. But it's only if you feel comfortable to do so.
Yay! You go Leo! :) Can you confirm which drama/movie the award is for? Is it for his work inTLB?
Leo is such a talented actor. I first saw him in Nirvana in Fire as a teenage kung fu prodigy and he was very good and adorable. He looked so young in the drama and now he has blossomed into this handsome young man. I get why he gained so many fans from his performance in TLB and he certainly deserves it! I also like how gentlemanly he is off screen especially how cute and protective he is of Reba off screen. Like you, I have become fans of both Leo and Reba and will follow their acting career going forward. I wish them the very best and hope they gain further recognition and awards in TLB and future roles. It will be wonderful if the two can pair up in the near future. I think it'll be nice if they did a modern drama but honestly, I take whatever as long as they can act together again.
In the opening MV:-The moment when arrows flew past AS (interestingly, he looked very cool and nervous. What's…
Yes exactly! When I said to have a new image inserted, I meant a real image or an animated drawing, not mixing the two. Combining the two makes me cringe because the presentation looks so fake. The one with Li Shimin looks especially bad.
In the opening MV:-The moment when arrows flew past AS (interestingly, he looked very cool and nervous. What's…
As for the ending MV, below is my summary:
• I also enjoyed the shot of Ah Sun’s expression of ‘please don’t’ as he had a look of disappointment and helplessness. • I squealed when Ah Sun caught her from the rooftop scene and they shared a lingering gaze. She looked as light as a pillow in his arms. • Gesun’s pinkie swear. Wonder what that was all about too. • The Changge-Leyan exchange in the alley way was also intriguing. • The affectionate hug between Gesun; I figure they must have separated somehow and for a long time. • The back-to-back of the Gesun couple as they faced down their enemies. Yes! They will fight and defend together. • Changge getting shot in Tang armour. I thought it might relate to the double shootout from the opening score but hope that Ah Sun would not really shoot her. 😭 • Hao Du and She’er’s fight. I don’t know what connection those two could possibly have to be dueling? • Ah Sun throwing his sword to kill his enemy at the Liu Yang temple. The angle shot was amazing. I also like many of the fight scenes that follow.
I like that there were no animations in the ending song.
In the opening MV:-The moment when arrows flew past AS (interestingly, he looked very cool and nervous. What's…
There are so many gems in the opening score that had me asking what is going on? Here are some of my favorites:
• I like the opening scenes where it shows Changge looking up to the sky and an eagle flying around and then transition to the next scene with Ah Sun in his Ashile tribal garb with the eagle in the background. My first thought, what is the connection of the eagle? Is it their pet? • I love her outcry in the battlefield and I was excited for an epic war scene! • The classic scene of her delivering the box at the Shuo gates to Ashile Sun is epic and I like that it transitions to the manhua drawing. • A man swirling around and committing suicide with his sword. I rewind the scene several times wondering who he is and how he is tied to the story. • The double arrow shootout between Changge and Ah Sun and ending with the animated Changge in Tang armour. I did like how the opening score ended with the titled character in animation.
The animated scenes were spot on in the introduction MV. The only thing I did not like was Li Shimin supposedly going to war with that awful fake background. I wish a better image was inserted instead.
Dilireba is already famous for her beauty at secondary school. Once a photographer walks in xinjiang and accidentally…
I'm not the biggest Reba fan but I have gathered from my discussions here and articles online that Reba seems to be a very sweet and down to earth person. I've been watching a variety show (Keep Running) with Reba and it's fun to see her interact with other stars to overcome challenges and she's such a team player. Her beauty is so exotic and out of this world. However, I think it can be a negative as well because many people cannot look past her beauty, labeling her to be a "vase" even though she has made strides in her acting. I have seen quite a few of her dramas already and to be honest, many of them are forgettable. She typically plays cutesy roles (she is adorable IMO) and I always like her but the plots to these dramas leave a lot to be desired. I believe she wasn't challenged in her previous dramas because of the lackluster plots . As she gets popular, she has more say in the what scripts to take and I cannot state enough that Li Changge is her breakout role. Her acting here is phenomenal and perhaps she always had it in her but was not able to showcase it in the past or she really tried to improve herself over time. Whatever it is, she has made me a fan!
What bugs me is that despite the general consensus of the improvement in her acting and praise for TLB performance, there are many people who deride her talent and believe it is her good looks that she is relevant. I have read many comments that will say, "I think she's beautiful but I don't like her acting" or "I cannot even finish her series but she's beautiful" and that's after watching TLB. So her beauty is a double-edged sword but I hope with time she can prove these doubters wrong. Casual fans or viewers who don't know Reba but watched TLB will likely be impressed by her portrayal and see her positively. However, there will always be haters or doubters refusing to give her a chance and downgrade her efforts despite what is obviously shown on screen with TLB. Luckily she has an amazing loyal fan base who protects her. Her birthday was a couple of weeks ago and the amount of love and affection her fans had to celebrate her birthday was amazing to see. There were drone light shows on her birthday and her fan club made charitable donations on her behalf. It was very sweet and she is very much beloved by those who matter.
Dilraba filmed one drama as a strong female lead and rumored to be starring in another period drama with a strong female lead (female version of the male lead in Nirvana in Fire) so I hope 2022 will a good year for Reba's fans to see her grow and excel. My wish for Reba is that she picks roles that will continue to improve her acting and show us different sides of her. We can see that she has the talent and acting chops to play complicated roles; now is the matter of picking the right script that puts her in the best light.
LOL. Yes, let me add “best cinematography” and “best soundtrack”. Seriously, I hope TLB wins best drama of the year and both Reba and Leo get recognized for their acting in an award show.
