I agree that this is getting pretty tiring. I have not read what you wrote yet, I will read it at the first opportunity..…
Her flaws are what endear me to her character. If she reacted perfectly to every obstacle, then where is the growth? She has to stumble, analyze, reflect and adapt through out her long journey.

Agree and watching clips of that scene plus your summation gives me goose bumps!
Definitely! Tears, anger or laughter - all emotions are welcome. It's great that we have a drama that inspires such strong emotions in us! :)

ahh so you're a misogynist. everything you said makes so much more sense now.
I'm sorry to read that you feel you cannot recommend this page to other people who are interested in the drama. Difference of opinion is expected in a discussion forum and I have my fair share of disagreeing with others on certain topics or misinterpreting someone's post. That's why multiple exchanges might be necessary to clarify both person’s position on a subject matter. From my own experience, it's sometimes how the opinion is phrased that incites stronger reactions and some people take offense to a particular word used or an off hand comment (might meant to be harmless but did not come across as such).

I'm curious, if you don't mind sharing, you'd mentioned that some comments made you understand the drama better. Do you mind sharing which areas were clarified for you? The fact that you got something out of the responding messages is still something positive and I hope you can change your mind about this forum. For the most part, I think most people are welcoming and happy to engage as long as all parties respond civilly and respectfully.

Haha! Yes, timing might not be the best with the blowup from yesterday but I personally enjoy everything you had written. It really help my overactive mind imagine where we can showcase GeSun's love (I just can't enough of them!)

I also read your post in the discussion area and it was very well written. I also typed my response too. Hopefully in the future, your post will provide clarification for those who question Changge's love. ❤️

I agree. Although I hate to witness their deaths and their scenes completely break my heart but their fates are important to Changge's growth. A'Dou's death stir the inner strength she didn't realize was there and for her to overcome another personal tragedy and with the Gongsun Heng's death, she learned that there are greater things, more important things than her own personal gain. It completely shifted her thinking to consider her country, its citizens and her purpose in life. So although I cried buckets for their demise, I would not change their fates in the drama either.

Throughout the Shuo arc, Ah Sun was trying to balance his duties to the Great Khan and minimizing her pain. He believes taking her to the grasslands is for the best and uses his own life as bait to will her to live. He did a lot for her and how could she not be touched by his gestures? Their relationship - friends to enemies to lovers - is so wonderful to witness. Ah Sun does wear his heart on his sleeve and it is rewarding for me as a viewer to see Changge slowly reciprocate her feelings as she battles grief, trauma and inner demons to find her path in life individually and with him.

I like your interpretation of Changge’s psyche when she behaved recklessly in avenging A'Dou's death. After A'Dou was killed, Changge without hesitation charged from the Shuo’s gates and was gun ho in slaughtering the man who murdered him, putting her and her men’s lives at risks. It was a rash decision but I believe she couldn’t let this opportunity slipped by because she has been feeling so helpless in avenging her own parents’ death. A’Dou’s death was different because the perpetrator was in front of her and she needed to do this for A’Dou and her own peace of mind. I love seeing how fierce Reba was in that scene. She was mesmerizing to watch and how she vented her grief and frustration on the guy, it was so very gratifying.

One thing I do want to comment, since the Eagle tribal members are masquerading as Tang soldiers during the battle, how do the soldiers even know which individuals are on their side and who to kill? Are there markers to assist with that? My boyfriend, when passing by glanced at the TV, asked that question and I was like, “uhhh…they just know”. It’s not important to the story obviously but yeah, just something that came to mind when viewing these scenes.

I know! Sometimes the unscripted scenes end up being the most poignant. I did read that both Reba and the young actor improvised Changge and A'Dou last moments so kudos to both artists for a job well done!

The dinner scene was heart breaking to me too because his wife clearly understood the governor's intentions and gave him her answer (that she will follow him in death). No one else understood the meaning of their exchange but the couple did, as did the viewers so we're already preparing for the worse. The music that was played in the background was very well done too.

Yay! You go Leo! :) Can you confirm which drama/movie the award is for? Is it for his work inTLB?
So wonderful to read it's for TLB. Very happy for Leo to dispel all the criticisms he received for accepting this role in the beginning, many stating he was too young to act the part. He totally slayed the role and be forever identified as Ashile Sun to me! Keep on rising Leo!

I echo your sentiments and it is frustrating as you stated. I will try channeling Li Changge and rise above it! :)

Yeah, it's just wishful thinking on my part to have the ability to block posters I know have ill intentions and want to incite discord. It is what it is. I'm happy that there are plenty of people who are friendly and truly want to discuss the drama. It makes the experience so much better and honestly, I've learned so much about the characters and the actors too from the many posters here. I am thankful for the like-minded individuals. :)

Thanks WK1! I wish I was part of the discussion at the time. I am a newer member of the TLB discussion board so I'm sure some topics are rehashed repeatedly like this one. I'm glad regulars do not mind the repetitive posts. You're always one of many who don't mind discussing or clarifying areas that were missed. I do appreciate your input and always enjoy our multiple exchanges.

Your observation is so on point! When I first watched TLB, I had no clue who it was that killed himself with a sword. The camera angle was meant to obscure his face but after your post relating to the lyrics, it is indeed fitting. Gongsun Heng was a short-lived character but is absolutely one of my favorites. I always felt his impact was the strongest on Changge in her journey (other than Ah Sun). Thank you for identifying the connection to the lyrics. When I hear the opening score, your words will definitely resonate with me.

Yeah, I have to be honest, today was hard for me too. I had to step away for many hours because some of the comments made were so out of line. I have no problems engaging in constructive discussions and I have learned a fair share from others because of these discussions. However, some comments have become personal attacks of other posters and no, I do not want to engage with those people who obviously have ulterior motives, refused to acknowledge others' opinion or worse made personal backhanded comments under the "veil" of being constructive . I too find ignoring is the best method but we're all humans and I can't help responding when I feel that criticisms are unjustified. I wish we have an "ignore" option so I don't have to see posts from particular posters.

In the end, I want to add that I have enjoyed my experience here. Very knowledgeable posters who share their thoughts and some very helpful in providing color or background to the drama.

You made so many good points and I agree the change in both girls are shown differently. Leyan's growth is evident through her demeanor and how she carries herself. She stops stuttering and hiding behind others and is more confident by being more vocal so it's easier for viewers to see the obvious changes in her. Changge's progress is definitely more internal and a viewer has to see how she reacts to situations and her conversations with others to see the shift in her thinking and also her priorities. She has always been bright but she became less reckless, more deliberate and calm at the end of the drama. I'm glad that you pointed that out. Changge is a complex character and a casual viewer might not see the growth in her character at face value.

TLB Rewatch: Episode 14
This episode gets to me again and even though I know what to expect, I still end up sobbing the entire episode. My poor sweet sweet A’Dou. Amazing that a young kid can understand the importance of patriotism and self-sacrifice and yet we have adult men in this show who fail to see the big picture of what is at stake for their country. RIP General A’Dou! ☹

The young actor who starred as A’Dou and Reba nailed those scenes. Such raw emotions. Bravery, loyalty and sacrifice on A’Dou’s part and heart wrenching grief from Changge. This loss hit her hard. He was her pillar of support since she lost her family and now, he also left her. ☹ Of course, then we have Governor Gongsun making the ultimate sacrifice. The scene at the dinner table when he was prepping his wife and daughter for a life without him was so touching. When they all put their hands on top of another, I can’t even. I just love this man and his family so much and I know he’s not discussed often here but every time I see him, I cannot help but admire his loyalty to the Shuo State and its citizens. His influence was the turning point for Changge to put aside her revenge and consider the better good of the people.

After this episode, I am again astonished with the amount of grief our titled character has experienced at age 15, how she continues find the strength to keep going and make a difference. IMO, this episode is one if not the best performance by Reba of the entire drama. Her emotions were right on point from her sorrow with A’Dou’s death to her pleas and tears to Gongsun not to carry through with his plans. The episode ended at a cliff hanger and I’m not sure if my heart can take more sadness tonight to continue with the next episode (another dramatic one). So sad but the drama is so damn good!
